5Worri ifi gad qabu gammaduu; isaan lafa hin dhaalan!Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

6Worri balchummaa beelotuu fi dheebotu gammaduu; Waaqi isaan hin quussa.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

7Worri namaaf mararfatu gammaduu; Waaqi isaaniif hin mararfata!Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

8Worri gadhaa qullu'uu gammaduu; isaan Waaqa hin dhaggan!Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

9Worri nageya buusu gammaduu; isaan ijoollee Waaqaa hin jedhaman!Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

10Worri balchumma'aaf miidhamu gammaduu; mootummaan Waaqaa ta isaanii ti!Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11«Sababa kiyyaaf jettee yennaa kolbaan isin arrassitee, isin miitee, dharaan gurra isin balleessite gammmada'a.Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

12Isaan raagota worra isiniin duraatuu akkasuma miidhane. Gatiin teessan ol-gubba'atti guddoo waan teeteef, gammada'aatii ilillisa'a» isaaniin jedhe.Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.

33Yesuus, «Ammalle, ‹Dharaan hin kakatina'a; waan Gootta'aaf kakattane ammoo godha'a› akka worra duriitiin jedhame isin dhageettaneertan.Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’

38Yesuus itti dabalee, «‹Ilti, ilaaf; ilkaan, ilkaaniif› akka jedhame isin dhageettaneertan.You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’

39Ani ammoo isinitti hima: nama si yakke haluu hin bayin. Nami tokko yoo boqoo middaa si dhabanaase, taanille itti garagalchi;But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also;

43Yesuus, « ‹Ollaa keeti jaaladhu, diinota keeti jibbi› akka jedhame dhageettaneertan.You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’

44Ani ammoo isinitti hima: diinota keessan jaaladha'a; worra isin miidhuufille daadimadha'a.But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

45Tana yoo gootane ijoollee Abbaa keessan ka ol-gubba'aa hin teetan; inni aduu ifii worra hama'aa fi dansa'aafille hin baasa; worra balchootaa fi balchoota hin te'iniifille hin roobisiisa.that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

46Worra isin jaalatu callaa yoo jaalattane, gatii maan qaddan ree? Cubbaaleyyiinuu sanuma godhan!If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same?

47Obboleeyyan teessan callaa nageya o'aa yoo fuutane, worra dhibii caalaa isin maan gootane? Worri Yihudoota hin te'inille sanuma godhan!And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?

48Abbaan keessan ka ol-gubba'aa mijuu akka te'e, isinille mijuu te'a'a» jedhe.Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
