1. 1GAZEዋቀዮ ጎፍታን ዋን ከነ ነት አርግሲሴ፦ እን ኤርገ ቆድን ሞትቻ ሃመሜ ቦዴ፣ ኡቱመ ምዻን ለመፋን ገኣ ጅሩ ቱተ ሀዋንሳ ቆጴሴ።BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: He was preparing swarms of locusts just after the king’s harvest, as the late spring crop was coming up.
2. 2GAZEአንስ ኤርገ ሀዋንስን ሱን ለፈ በርበዴሴ ቦዴ፣ “ያ ዋቀዮ ጎፍታ፣ ኑፍ አራረም! ያቆብ አከሚን ደንደኤ በዲሰራ ሀፈ? እን ዳእመ ጥናዸ!” ጄዼን እዬ።BSBBSB: And when the locusts had eaten every green plant in the land, I said, “Lord GOD, please forgive! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
3. 3GAZEከናፉ ዋቀዮ ንጋቤ። ዋቀዮስ፣ “ወን ኩን ህንተኡ” ጄዼ።BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen,” He said.
4. 4GAZEዋቀዮ ጎፍታን ዋን ከነ ነት አርግሲሴ፤ ዋቀዮ ጎፍታን ሙርቲ ኬኑፍ እብደ ዋማ ቱሬ፤ እብድ ሱንስ ቱጁበ ጉዳ ጎግሴ ለፈስ ንበርበዴሴ።BSBBSB: This is what the Lord GOD showed me: The Lord GOD was calling for judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and devoured the land.
5. 5GAZEከነረት አን፣ “ያ ዋቀዮ ጎፍታ፣ አን ስን ከዸዻ፣ ዋን ከነ ኑራ ዻብ! ያቆብ አከሚን ዋን ከነራ ሀፈ? እን ዳእመ ጥናዸ!” ጄዼን እዬ።BSBBSB: Then I said, “Lord GOD, please stop! How will Jacob survive, since he is so small?”
6. 6GAZEከናፉ ዋቀዮ ንጋቤ። ዋቀዮ ጎፍታን፣ “ወን ኩንስ ህንተኡ” ጄዼ።BSBBSB: So the LORD relented from this plan. “It will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.
7. 7GAZEእን ዋን ከነ ነ አርግሲሴ፦ ጎፍታን ቱምቢ ሀርከት ቀበቴ ደላ ቱምቢዻን እጃረሜ ብረ ዻበቻ ቱሬ።BSBBSB: This is what He showed me: Behold, the Lord was standing by a wall true to plumb, with a plumb line in His hand.
8. 8GAZEዋቀዮስ፣ “አሞስ፣ አት ማል አርጉት ጅርተ?” ጄዼ ነ ጋፈቴ። አንስ፣ “ቱምቢ ነንአርገ” ጄዼን ዴብሴ። ጎፍታንስ አከነ ናን ጄዼ፤ “ኩኖ አን ሰበኮ እስራኤል ግዱ ቱምቢ ቶኮ ነንካአ፤ አን ስአች እሳን ህንበራሩ።BSBBSB: “Amos, what do you see?” asked the LORD. “A plumb line,” I replied. “Behold,” said the Lord, “I am setting a plumb line among My people Israel; I will no longer spare them:
9. 9GAZE“እዶወን ሰገዳ ይስሃቅ ንበርበዳኡ፤ እዶን ቁልቁሉን እስራኤልስ ንኦነ፤ አን ጎራዴኮቲን መነ ዬሮብኣምት ነንከአ።”BSBBSB: The high places of Isaac will be deserted, and the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise up against the house of Jeroboam with My sword.”
10. 10GAZEኤርገሲ አመስያ ሉብን ቤትኤል አከነ ጄዼ ዬሮብኣም ሞትቸ እስራኤልት ኤርጋ ቶኮ ኤርጌ፤ “አሞስ ገራ እስራኤል ኬሰት ስት መለቴረ። ዱቢሳ ሁንደ ለፍትዩ ባቹ ህንደንዴሱ።BSBBSB: Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land cannot bear all his words,
11. 11GAZEአሞስ አከነ ጄዼራቲ፦ “ ‘ዬሮብኣም ጎራዴዻን ዱአ፤ እስራኤልስ ዹጉማን ቦጅአሜ ብየሳቲ ንፉዸተመ።’ ”BSBBSB: for this is what Amos has said: ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
12. 12GAZEከነረት አመስያን አሞሲን አከነ ጄዼ፤ “ያ እላልቱነነ፣ ሶክ! ብየ ይሁዳት ዴብእ። አችት ቡዴነ ኛዹ፤ ራጂስ ዱበዹ።BSBBSB: And Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah; earn your bread there and do your prophesying there.
13. 13GAZEሰበቢ እን እዶ ቁልቁሉ ሞትቻቲፊ መነ ቁልቁሉማ ሞቱማ ተኤፍ አት ለመተ ቤትኤል ኬሰት ራጂ ህንዱበትን።”BSBBSB: But never prophesy at Bethel again, because it is the sanctuary of the king and the temple of the kingdom.”
14. 14GAZEአሞስሞ አከነ ጄዼ አመስያፍ ዴብሴ፤ “አን ራጂ ዮካን እልመ ራጂ ምት፤ ገሩ አን ትክሴፊ ኤግዱ ሙከ ሀርቡን ቱሬ።BSBBSB: “I was not a prophet,” Amos replied, “nor was I the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman and a tender of sycamore-fig trees.
15. 15GAZEዋቀዮ ገሩ ትከ ቡሻዬ ኬሳ ነ ፉዼ፣ ‘ዸቂ ሰበኮ እስራኤልት ራጂ ዱበዹ’ ናን ጄዼ።BSBBSB: But the LORD took me from following the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
16. 16GAZEኤጋ አመ ዱቢ ዋቀዮ ዸገእ። አት አከነ ጄተ፤ “ ‘አት እስራኤሊን ሞርሙዻን ራጂ ህንዱበትን፤ መነ ይስሃቅ ሞርሙዻን ለለቡ ዺስ።’BSBBSB: Now, therefore, hear the word of the LORD. You say: ‘Do not prophesy against Israel; do not preach against the house of Isaac.’
17. 17GAZE“ከናፉ ዋቀዮ አከነ ጄዸ፦ “ ‘ኒቲንኬ መጋላ ኬሰት ሰጋገልቱ ታት፤ እልማንኬቲፊ እንተለንኬ ጎራዴዻን ዹሙ። ብይኬ ሰፈረምቴ ገርገር ቆደምት፤ አት መታንኬዩ ብየ ኦርማት ዱተ። እስራኤል ዹጉማን ቦጅአሜ ብየሳቲ ንፉዸመ።’ ”BSBBSB: Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you yourself will die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
