1. 1GMVEጎዳይ ሳራ ቆፒዴስ፤ ካሴ ኢዚስ ዮቲዳ ማላካ ኦꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: Now the LORD attended to Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what He had promised.
2. 2GMVEሳራይ ሻራዳ ጪማቴꬃን ኣብራሃሜስ ጾሲ ጊዳ ዎዴይ ጋኪን ኣቱማ ና ዬላዱስ።BSBBSB: So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised.
3. 3GMVEሳራይ ኢዛስ ዬሊዳ ናዛ ሱንꬃ ኣብራሃሜይ፥ «ዪሳቃ» ጊ ሱንꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: And Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore to him.
4. 4GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ናዛ ዪሳቃ ጾሲ ባና ኣዛዚዳ ማላ ዬሌቲዳፔ ኦስፑንꬃ ጋላስ ቃጻሪዴስ።BSBBSB: When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.
5. 5GMVEኢዛ ና ዪሳቂ ኢዛስ ዬሌቲዳ ዎዴ ኣብራሃሜስ ላይꬃይ ጼታ።BSBBSB: Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
6. 6GMVEሳራይ፥ «ጾሲ ታና ሚቺዴስ፤ ቃሴ ሃይሳ ሲዪዛይ ዉሪ ታናራ ሚጫና» ጋዱስ።BSBBSB: Then Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears of this will laugh with me.”
7. 7GMVEቃሴካ ሳራይ፥ «ኣብራሃሜስ ሳራይ ና ዬላናኔ ꬋንꬃና ጊዲ ቆፒዳይ ኦኔ? ጊዲኮካ ታኒ ሃኢ ኢዛስ ኢዚ ጪሚዳ ዎዴን ና ዬላዲስ» ጋዱስ።BSBBSB: She added, “Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”
8. 8GMVEጉꬃ ናዚ ዲጪዲ ꬋንꬅ ዱጺዴስ፤ ዪሳቂ ꬋንꬃፌ ዱጺዳ ጋላስ ኣብራሃሜይ ጊታ ዲጊሳ ዲጊሲዴስ።BSBBSB: So the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day Isaac was weaned.
9. 9GMVEጊብጼፔ ዪዳ ኣጋራ ኣብራሃሜስ ዬሊዳ ናዚ ኢስማኤሌይ ዪሳቃ ሌቂዛይሳ ሳራይ ቤኣዳ፥BSBBSB: But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking her son,
10. 10GMVEኣብራሃሜ፥ «ሃኖ ኣይሌይ ናዚ ታ ና ዪሳቃራ ሙሌካ ላቶንታ ጊሻስ ኣይሌዮኔ ኢዚ ናዛ ኬሳ ጎዳ» ጋዱስ።BSBBSB: and she said to Abraham, “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac!”
11. 11GMVEሃ ዮኦዚ ባ ናዛ ቦቺዛ ጊሻስ ኣብራሃሜይ ዳሮፔ ሜቶቴቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Now this matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son Ishmael.
12. 12GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ጾሲ ኣብራሃሜ፥ «ኔ ዜሬꬃይ ዪሳቃ ባጋራ ጼይጌታናይሳ ጊሻስ ኣይሌይ ጊሻሲኔ ኢዚ ናዛ ጊሻስ ዳሮ ሜቶቶፓ፤ ሳራይ ኔስ ዮቲዛይሳ ኡባ ሲያ።BSBBSB: But God said to Abraham, “Do not be distressed about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to everything that Sarah tells you, for through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.
13. 13GMVEቃሴ ታኒ ኢዚ ኔ ዜሬꬅ ጊዲዳ ጊሻስ ኣይሌይ ናዛ ካዎቴꬅ ሂስታና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: But I will also make a nation of the slave woman’s son, because he is your offspring.”
14. 14GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ማላዶ ዎንታራ ዴንዲዲ ጉꬃ ካꬂኔ ኮዳን ሃꬅ ኤኪዲ ኣጋሮ ሃሼን ቶሲዲ ኢዚ ናዛካ ኢዚስ ኢሚዲ ኬሲ ዬዲዴስ፤ ኢዛ ባዳ ቤርሳቤሄ ጌቴቲዛ ባዞን ቶይላታዱስ።BSBBSB: Early in the morning, Abraham got up, took bread and a skin of water, put them on Hagar’s shoulders, and sent her away with the boy. She left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.
15. 15GMVEሃꬃይካ ኮዳፌ ዉሪን ኢዛ፥ «ታ ናዚ ሃይቂሺን ኡታዳ ታ ኢዛ ቤኢኬ» ጋዳ ናዛ ቡራ ጋርሳን ዎꬃዳ 200 ዋꬋ ጊዲዛሶ ማላ ባዳ ሄን ኡታዱስ፤ ሄንካ ኢዛኮ ሲማ ኡታዳ ባ ቃላ ꬎቁ ሂስታ ዬካዱስ።BSBBSB: When the water in the skin was gone, she left the boy under one of the bushes.
16. 17GMVEጾሲ ናዛ ዋሶ ሲዪዴስ፤ ሳሎፔ ጾሳ ኪታንቻይ ኣጋሮ ጼይጊዲ፥ «ኣጋሬ! ዋናዲ? ጾሲ ናዚ ኢቺዳሶን ዬኪዛይሳ ሲዪዳ ጊሻስ ባቦፋ፤BSBBSB: Then God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, “What is wrong, Hagar? Do not be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he lies.
17. 18GMVEዴንዳ ኤቃ፤ ናዛ ዴንꬃዳ ኔ ኩሼን ኦይካ፤ ታኒ ኢዛ ጊታ ካዎቴꬅ ሂስታና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Get up, lift up the boy, and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
18. 19GMVEጾሲ ኢዚስ ሃꬃ ኦላ ቤሲን ባዳ ኮዳን ሃꬅ ኩንꬃዱስ፤ ናዛካ ኡሻዱስ።BSBBSB: Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
19. 20GMVEጾሲ ናዛራ ዴስ፤ ናዚካ ዲጪዲ ባዞ ቢታን ዎንዳፌ ዱኪዛ ኣስ ጊዲዴስ።BSBBSB: And God was with the boy, and he grew up and settled in the wilderness and became a great archer.
20. 21GMVEኢዚ ፓራኔ ባዞን ዴኢሺን ኢዛ ኣያ ኢዛስ ማቾ ጊብጼፔ ኤካዱስ።BSBBSB: And while he was dwelling in the Wilderness of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
21. 22GMVEሄ ዎዴ ኣቢሜሌኬይ ባ ዎታዳራታ ሃላቃ ፒኮሌራ ኣብራሃሜኮ ቢዲ፥ «ኔኒ ኦꬂዛ ኡባን ጾሲ ኔናራ ዴስ።BSBBSB: At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, “God is with you in all that you do.
22. 23GMVEኔኒ ታ ቦላ ዎይኮ ታ ናይታ ቦላ ዎይኮ ታ ዜሬꬃ ቦላ ባሌꬆን ጌኔ ኦꬆንታ ማላ ሃኢ ሃይሳን ጾሳ ሲንꬃን ታስ ጫቃ፤ ታኒ ኔስ ኔ ኪዪዳይሳꬆ ኔኒካ ታሲኔ ኔኒ ኢማꬃቴꬃን ዲዛ ሃይሳ ቢታዛስ ሎኦ ኦꬃ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Now, therefore, swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”
23. 24GMVEኣብራሃሜይ፥ «ታኒ ጫቃይስ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: And Abraham replied, “I swear it.”
24. 25GMVEሄ ዎዴ ኣብራሃሜይ ኣቢሜሌኬ ኣይሌቲ ኤኪዳ ሃꬃ ኦላ ጊሻስ ኣቢሜሌኬስ ማጋኒዴስ።BSBBSB: But when Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well that Abimelech’s servants had seized,
25. 26GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ኣቢሜሌኬይ፥ «ሄሳ ኦኒ ኦꬂዳኮ ታኒ ኤሪኬ፤ ኔኒካ ቃሴ ታስ ዮታቤካ፤ ታኒ ሃች ጋካናስ ሄሳ ሲያቤኬ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until today.”
26. 27GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ኣብራሃሜይ ዶርሳታኔ ሚዛታ ኤሂዲ ኣቢሜሌኬስ ኢሚን ኢስቲ ናምኣይ ጫቄቲዳ።BSBBSB: So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant.
27. 28GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ሜሄታ ጊዶፌ ላፑን ኡዚ ዶርሳታ ሻኪዴስ።BSBBSB: Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock,
28. 29GMVEኣቢሜሌኬይ ኣብራሃሜ፥ «ሃ ኔኒ ሻኪዳ ላፑን ኡዞታ ኣይስ ሻካዲ?» ጊ ኦይቺዴስ።BSBBSB: and Abimelech asked him, “Why have you set apart these seven ewe lambs?”
29. 30GMVEኣብራሃሜይ፥ «ታኒ ሃይሳ ሃꬃ ኦላ ቦኪዳይሳስ ማርካ ጊዳና ማላ ሃይታ ላፑን ኡዞታ ታፔ ኤካ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from my hand as my witness that I dug this well.”
30. 31GMVEሄን ሄ ናምኡ ኣሳቲ ጫቄቲዳ ጊሻስ ሄ ሶሆይ ቤርሳቤሄ ጌቴቲዴስ።BSBBSB: So that place was called Beersheba, because it was there that the two of them swore an oath.
31. 32GMVEቤርሳቤሄን ጫቆ ጫቄቲዳይሳፌ ጉዬ ኣቢሜሌኬይኔ ኢዛ ዎታዳራታ ሃላቃ ፒኮሌይ ዴንዲዲ ፊሊስጼሜ ቢታ ሲሚዳ።BSBBSB: After they had made the covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.
32. 33GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ቤርሳቤሄን ታማርሲኬ ጌቴቲዛ ሚꬅ ቶኪዲ ሄን ጎዳ ሜርና ጾሳ ጼይጊዲ ጎይኒዴስ።BSBBSB: And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
33. 34GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ፊሊስጼሜ ቢታን ዳሮ ዎዴ ኢማꬃቴꬃን ዴኢዴስ።BSBBSB: And Abraham resided in the land of the Philistines for a long time.
