1. 1GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ጾሲ ኣብራሃሜ ፓጪዴስ፤ ጾሲ፥ «ኣብራሃሜ!» ጊ ጼይጊን ኣብራሃሜይ፥ «ዬ!» ጊ ኮዪዴስ።BSBBSB: Some time later God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he answered.
2. 2GMVEጾሲ፥ «ኔኒ ሲቂዛ ኔ ሜጺ ኢሲ ናዛ ዪሳቃ ኤካዳ ሞሪያ ጌቴቲዛ ቢታ ባ፤ ባዳ ሄን ታኒ ኔስ ቤሲዛ ኢሲ ዙማ ቦላን ኢዛ ጹጌቲዛ ያርሾ ኦꬃዳ ታስ ያርሻ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “Take your son,” God said, “your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
3. 3GMVEዎንቴꬃ ጋላስ ኣብራሃሜይ ማላዶ ዎንታራ ዴንዲዲ ሃሬ ጫኒዴስ፤ ባ ኣይሌታፔ ናምኣታኔ ባ ና ዪሳቃ ባናራ ኤኪዲ ጹጊዛ ያርሾስ ጊዲዛ ሚꬅ ቄሪ ኤኪዲ ጾሲ ኢዛስ ዮቲዳሶ ባናስ ዴንዲዴስ።BSBBSB: So Abraham got up early the next morning, saddled his donkey, and took along two of his servants and his son Isaac. He split the wood for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had designated.
4. 4GMVEቢሼ ሄꬓንꬃ ጋላስ ኣብራሃሜይ ꬎቁ ጊዲ ያርሾ ያርሻናሶዛ ሃሆን ቤኢዴስ።BSBBSB: On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
5. 5GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ባ ኣይሌታ፥ «ኢንቴ ሃሬዛራ ሃይሳን ዲሺቴ፤ ታኒኔ ታ ናዚ ጌዴ ቢዲ ጾሳስ ጎይኒዲ ኢንቴኮ ሃ ሲማና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told his servants. “The boy and I will go over there to worship, and then we will return to you.”
6. 6GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ያርሾ ሚꬃ ዴንꬂዲ ናዛ ዪሳቃ ቶሲዲ ባስ ታማኔ ሹካ ማሻ ኦይኪዴስ፤ ኢስቲ ናምኣይ ኢሲፌ ቢሺን፥BSBBSB: Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac. He himself carried the fire and the sacrificial knife, and the two of them walked on together.
7. 7GMVEዪሳቂ ባ ኣዋ ኣብራሃሜ፥ «ኣቦ!» ጊዴስ። ኣብራሃሜይካ፥ «ዬ! ታ ናዞ!» ጊን ዪሳቂ፥ «ታማይኔ ሚꬂ ዴስ ሺን ያርሼታና ዶርሳይ ኣዋኔ?» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” “Here I am, my son,” he replied. “The fire and the wood are here,” said Isaac, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
8. 8GMVEኣብራሃሜይካ፥ «ታ ናዞ! ያርሼታና ዶርሳ ጾሲ ጊጊሳና» ጊዴስ፤ ሂስቲን ኢስቲ ናምኣይ ኢሲፌ ቢዳ።BSBBSB: Abraham answered, “God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two walked on together.
9. 9GMVEኢስቲ ጾሲ ኢዛስ ዮቲዳሶ ጋኪዳ ዎዴ ኣብራሃሜይ ያርሾ ያርሺዛሶ ሄን ጊግሲዲ ሚꬃ ኮሪዴስ፤ ባ ና ዪሳቃ ቃቺዲ ሄ ሚꬃ ቦላን ሹካናስ ኢሺሲዴስ።BSBBSB: When they arrived at the place God had designated, Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood. He bound his son Isaac and placed him on the altar, atop the wood.
10. 10GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ባ ናዛ ሹካናስ ኩሼ ዬዲዲ ማሻ ኤኪዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son.
11. 11GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ጎዳ ኪታንቻይ ሳሎፔ ኢዛ፥ «ኣብራሃሜ! ኣብራሃሜ!» ጊ ጼይጊን ኢዚ፥ «ዬ!» ጊ ኮዪን፥BSBBSB: Just then the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham, Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.
12. 12GMVE«ናዛ ቦላ ኔ ኩሼ ዎꬆፋ፤ ኢዛ ኣይኮካ ኦꬆፋ፤ ኔኒ ኔ ሜጺ ኢሲ ናዛካ ታና ዲጎንታ ጊሻስ ኔኒ ጾሳስ ያዪዛ ኣስ ጊዲዳይሳ ታኒ ሃኢ ኤራዲስ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him,” said the angel, “for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.”
13. 13GMVEኣብራሃሜይ ꬎቁ ጊዲ ጼሊሺን ካጬይ ቱራን ኦይኬቲዳ ꬋርሾ ቤኢዴስ፤ ኣብራሃሜይ ቢዲ ሄ ꬋርሾዛ ኤኪዲ ጹጌቲዛ ያርሾ ያርሺዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Abraham looked up and saw behind him a ram in a thicket, caught by its horns. So he went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
14. 14GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ኣብራሃሜይ ሄ ሶሆዛ፥ «ጎዳይ ኢሚዛሶ» ጊ ሱንꬂዴስ፤ ሃች ጋካናስካ ሄ ሶሆዚ፥ «ጎዳይ ዙማ ቦላን ኢማና» ጌቴቴስ።BSBBSB: And Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. So to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”
15. 15GMVEጎዳ ኪታንቻይ ሳሎፔ ናምኣንꬆ ኣብራሃሜ ጼይጊዲ፥BSBBSB: And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time,
16. 16GMVE«ታኒ ኔስ ታናን ጫቃይስ፤ ኔኒ ሃይሳ ኦꬂዳ ጊሻስ ኔ ሜጺ ኢሲ ናዛካ ታና ዲጎንታ ጊሻስ፥BSBBSB: saying, “By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your only son,
17. 17GMVEታኒ ኔና ቱሙ ኣንጃና፤ ኔ ዜሬꬃካ ታኒ ሳሎ ጾሊንቴ ማላኔ ኣባ ዶናን ዲዛ ኣጬ ማላ ኦꬃዳ ዳርሳና፤ ኔ ዜሬꬃቲ ባ ሞርኬታ ካታማታ ላታና።BSBBSB: I will surely bless you, and I will multiply your descendants like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will possess the gates of their enemies.
18. 18GMVEኔኒ ታስ ኣዛዜቲዳ ጊሻስ ሃ ካዎቴꬃይ ዉሪ ኔ ዜሬꬃ ባጋራ ኣንጄታና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: And through your offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
19. 19GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ኣብራሃሜይ ባ ኣይሌታኮ ሲሚን ኢስቲ ዉሪ ኢሲፌ ቤርሳቤሄ ዴንዲ ቢዳ። ኣብራሃሜይ ቤርሳቤሄን ዴኢዴስ።BSBBSB: Abraham went back to his servants, and they got up and set out together for Beersheba. And Abraham settled in Beersheba.
20. 20GMVEሄሳፌ ሲሚን ኣብራሃሜስ፥ «ሚልካይ ኔ ኢሻ ናኮሬስ ናይታ ዬላዱስ።BSBBSB: Some time later, Abraham was told, “Milcah has also borne sons to your brother Nahor:
21. 21GMVEኢስቲካ፥ ባይራ ና ኡጼ፥ ኡጼ ኢሻታ ቡዜ፥BSBBSB: Uz the firstborn, his brother Buz, Kemuel (the father of Aram),
22. 22GMVEኣራሜ ኣዋ ቃሙኤሌ፥ ኬሳዴ፥ ሃዞ፥ ፒልዳሴ፥ ዪዲላፌ፥ ባቱኤሌ ጌቴቴቴስ።BSBBSB: Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”
23. 23GMVEሄይታ ሄ ኦስፑን ናይታካ ሚልካ ኣብራሃሜ ኢሻ ናኮሬስ ዬላዱስ፤ ባቱኤሊ ኢርቢቃ ዬሊዴስ።BSBBSB: And Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milcah bore these eight sons to Abraham’s brother Nahor.
24. 24GMVEኤሬሂሞ ጌቴቲዛ ኢዛ ጋራዴያ ቃሴ ጼባሄ፥ ጌሃሜ፥ ቴሃሻኔ ማኪሳ ዬላዱስ» ጊ ዮቲዳ።BSBBSB: Moreover, Nahor’s concubine, whose name was Reumah, bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
