1. 1GMVEዬሱሲካ ባና ካሊዛ ታማኔ ናምኡ ኣሳታስ ኣዛዞ ኢሚ ዉርሲዳፔ ጉዬ ታማርሳናሲኔ ሳባካናስ ጋሊላን ዲዛ ካታማታ ቢዴስ።BSBBSB: After Jesus had finished instructing His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2. 2GMVEዮሃኒሲ ቃሾ ኬꬃን ዲሼ ኪርስቶሲ ኦꬂዛ ሃኖታ ሲዪዲ ባና ካሊዛይታ ኢዛኮ ዬዲዲ፥ «ኣስ ኣሺዛዴይ ያና ጌቴቲዳይ ኔኔዬ? ሃራ ናጊኖ?» ጊዲ ኦይቺዴስ።BSBBSB: Meanwhile John heard in prison about the works of Christ, and he sent his disciples
3. 4GMVEዬሱሲካ ዛሪዲ፥ «ቢዲ ኢንቴ ሲዪዳይሳኔ ኢንቴ ቤኢዳይሳ ዮሃኒሳስ ዮቲቴ።BSBBSB: Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see:
4. 5GMVEቆቄቲ ጼሌቴስ፤ ዎቤቲ ሄሜቴቴስ፤ ኢንቺራቻ ሃርጊዛይቲ ፓጼቴስ፤ ቱሌቲ ሲዬቴስ፤ ሃይቂዳይቲ ሃይቆፔ ፓጺ ዴንዴቴስ፤ ማንቆታስ ሚሺራቾ ቃላይ ዮቴቴስ።BSBBSB: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
5. 6GMVEታናን ꬉጴቶንታዴይ ኣንጄቲዳዴ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Blessed is the one who does not fall away on account of Me.”
6. 7GMVEዮሃኒሳ ካሊዛይቲ ቢዳፔ ጉዬ ዬሱሲካ ኣሳስ ዮሃኒሳ ጊሻስ፥ «ኣይ ቤያናስ ዱጌ ባዞ ቢዴቲ? ጫርኮይ ቃꬂዛ ሾምቦቆ ቤያናስ ዪዴቲ?BSBBSB: As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swaying in the wind?
7. 8GMVEዎይኮ ኣይ ቤያናስ ኬዚዴቲ? ሎኦ ማይኦ ማይኢ ዲዛይታ ቤያና ዪዴቲ? ሎኦ ማይኦ ማይኢዲ ሎኢዛይቲ ካዎታ ኬꬃን ዴቴስ።BSBBSB: Otherwise, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who wear fine clothing are found in kings’ palaces.
8. 9GMVEሂስቲን ኣይ ቤያና ኬዚዴቲ? ናቤ ቤያና ኬዚዴቲ? ኤ፥ ታ ኢንቴስ ጋይስ፥ ናቤፔ ኣꬊዛይሳ ቤያናሳ።BSBBSB: What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
9. 10GMVE« ‹ኔ ባና ኦጌ ኔስ ጊጊሳናዴ ኔፔ ካሴታ ታ ኔስ ኪታና ጌቴቲዲ ኢዛ ጊሻስ ካሴ ጻፌቲዳዴይ ኢዛኮ!› ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’
10. 11GMVE«ታ ኢንቴስ ቱሙ ጋይስ፤ ማጫሳፌ ዬሌቲዳ ኣሳፔ ጻማቂዛ ዮሃኒሳ ሚሳቲዛ ኣሲ ቢታ ቦላ ዴንዲቤና። ጊዲኮካ ጾሳ ካዎቴꬃን ኣስ ኡባፌ ላፋ ኣሲ ዮሃኒሳፔ ኣꬋና።BSBBSB: Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
11. 12GMVE«ጻማቂዛ ዮሃኒሳ ዎዴፔ ሃ ሲሚን ሃኢ ጋካናስ ሳሎ ካዎቴꬃያ ዳሮ ባጼ ቦላ ዳዉስ። ሚኖ ኣሳቲ ጻላ ኢዞ ዴማና።BSBBSB: From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.
12. 13GMVEናቤቲካ ሙሴ ዎጋይካ ዉሪ ዮሃኒሳ ዎዴ ጋካናስ ቡሮፔ ሃናናይሳ ዮቲዳ።BSBBSB: For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.
13. 14GMVEሂስቲኮ ኢንቴ ኤካና ኮይኮ ኢዚ ያና ጌቴቲዳ ኤላሲ ኢዛኮ!BSBBSB: And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.
14. 15GMVEሲዪዛ ሃይꬂ ዲዛ ኣሲ ሲዮ!BSBBSB: He who has ears, let him hear.
15. 16GMVE«ሃይሳ ሃ ዎዴ ኣሳ ኣዛን ሌሚሶ? ጊያን ኡቲዲ ባ ላጌታ፥ ‹ኑ ኢንቴስ ዲꬅ ዲጺን ኢንቴ ዱሪቤኬታ! ዬሆ ዚላስ ዚላሊን ዬኪቤኬታ!› ጊዛ ናይታ ሚሳቴቴስ።BSBBSB: To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:
16. 18GMVEዮሃኒሲ ሙሳፌኔ ኡሻፌ ናጌቲዲ ዪዳ ጊሻስ፥ ‹ኢዚ ዳይዳንꬃራ ዴስ› ጊዳ።BSBBSB: For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’
17. 19GMVEታ ኣሳ ናይ ማሼኔ ኡያሼ ዪን፥ ‹ሃይሲ ሚዲ ካሎንታ ኣሳ፥ ኡሻንቻ፥ ቃራጻ ሺሺዛይታሲኔ ናጋራንቻታስ ላጌኮ!› ጊዳ። ጊዶ ኣቲን ጾሳ ኤራቴꬂ ባ ኦሶን ጺላዱስ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at this glutton and drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is vindicated by her actions.”
18. 20GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ዬሱሲ ኢዚ ማላታታ ኦꬂዳ ካታማ ኣሳይ ማሮቴꬃን ጌሎንታ ኣጊዳ ጊሻስ፥ «ኩራዚኔኔ ቤቴሳይዳ! ኢንቴና ኣዬ ኣና! ኢንቴ ቦላ ኦሴቲዳ ማላታይ ጺሮሴ ቦላኔ ሲዶና ቦላ ኦሴቲዳኮ ኢስቲ ማቃ ማይኢዲኔ ቢዲንꬃን ኡቲዲ ቤኒ ማሮቴꬃን ጌላናኮሺን።BSBBSB: Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.
19. 22GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ታኒ ኢንቴስ ጊዛይ ፒርዳ ጋላስ ኢንቴፌ ኣꬊ ጺሮሴሲኔ ሲዶናስ ቂጻቴይ ካዉያና።BSBBSB: But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
20. 23GMVE«ሃኔ ቂፊርናሆሜ ፑዴ ሳሎ ꬎቁ ꬎቁ ጋናስ ኮያዲ? ጊዶ ኣቲን ኔኒ ዱጌ ሲኦሌ ዎꬋንዳሳ፤ ኔ ቦላ ኦሴቲዳ ማላታይ ሶዶሜን ኦሴቲዳኮ ሶዶሜይ ሃች ጋካናስ ዳናኮሺን።BSBBSB: And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.
21. 24GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ታ ኔና ጊዛይ ፒርዳ ጋላስ ቂጻቴይ ኔፔ ሶዶሜስ ካዉያና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
22. 25GMVEሄ ዎዴ ዬሱሲ፥ «ሳሎኔ ሳኣ ጎዶ! ታ ኣዋዉ! ሃይሳ ዳሮ ኤራንቻታፔኔ ጪንጫታፔ ቆታዳ ቄሪ ናይታስ ኔ ቆንጪሲዳ ጊሻስ ታ ኔና ጋላታይስ።BSBBSB: At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
23. 26GMVEታ ኣዋዉ! ኤ ሃይሲ ኔ ሲንꬃን ሎኦ ኔ ሼኔ ጊዲ ቤቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.
24. 27GMVE«ዉሪካ ታ ኣዋፔ ታስ ኢሜቲዴስ፤ ኣዋፔ ኣቲን ናዛ ጊሻስ ኤሪዛ ኣሲ ባ፤ ቃሴ ናዛፔኔ ናዚ ባ ሼኔን ቆንጪሲዳ ኣሳፔ ሃራይ ኣዋ ኤሪዛ ኣሲ ባ።BSBBSB: All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.
25. 28GMVE«ቶሆይ ዴጺዳይቶ፥ ዳቡርዳይቶ፥ ኢንቴ ዉሪካ ታኮ ሃ ዪቴ፤ ታኒካ ኢንቴስ ሼምፖ ኢማና።BSBBSB: Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
26. 29GMVEታ ቃምባራ ቶኪቴ፤ ታፔካ ታማርቴ፤ ታኒ ታ ዎዚናን ኣዳኔ ኣሽኬ፤ ኢንቴ ሼምፖስ ኢንቴ ሼምፖ ዴማና።BSBBSB: Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
27. 30GMVEታ ቃምባራይ ሻይኮኔ ታ ቶሆይ ካዉሻ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
