1. 1GMVEቃሴካ ዬሩሳላሜፔ ዪዳ ፋርሳዌቲኔ ሙሴ ዎጋ ታማርሲዛይቲ ዬሱሳኮ ሺቂዲ፥BSBBSB: Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,
2. 2GMVE«ኔና ካሊዛይቲ ካሴ ኑ ኣዋታ ዎጋ ኣዛስ ꬋይሲዞ? ቁማ ማናስ ኩሼ ሜጬቴቴና» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: “Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands before they eat.”
3. 3GMVEዬሱሲካ ኢስታስ፥ «ኢንቴ ኢንቴ ዎጋስ ጊዲ ጾሳ ኣዛዞ ኣይስ ሻሬቲ?BSBBSB: Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
4. 4GMVEጾሲ፥ ‹ኔ ኣዮኔ ኔ ኣዋ ቦንቻ፤ ባ ኣዋ ቦላ ዎይኮ ባ ኣዪ ቦላ ኢታ ቃላ ሃሳይዳዴይ ሃይቆ!› ጊ ኣዛዚዴስ።BSBBSB: For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
5. 5GMVEኢንቴ ጊዲኮ ኣይ ኣሲካ ባ ኣዋ ዎይኮ ባ ኣዮ፥ ‹ታ ኢንቴስ ኦꬃናስ ቤሲዛዝ ኣይ ሚሺካ ጾሳስ ያርሾ ኦꬃ ሺሻዲስ› ጊኮ፥BSBBSB: But you say that if anyone says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is a gift devoted to God,’
6. 6GMVE‹ሄ ኣዴዚ ባ ኣዋ ዎይኮ ባ ኣዮ ቦንቺዴስ› ጌታ፤ ሄሳ ጊሻስ ኢንቴ ዎጋ ጊሻስ ጾሳ ቃላ ሻሬታ።BSBBSB: he need not honor his father or mother with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
7. 7GMVEኢንቴኖ ቆꬌፔ ቆሞን ሃኒዛይቶ! ኢሳያሲ ኢንቴ ጊሻስ ዮቲሼ፥ « ‹ሃይሲ ዴሬይ ታና ዶናን ጻላ ቦንቼስ፤ ዎዚናይ ጊዲኮ ታፔ ሃኪዴስ፤ ሜላ ሃዳ ታና ጎይኔስ፤ ኢስታ ቲሚርቴይካ ኣሲ ዎꬂዳ ዎጋ› ጊዲዲ ሲንꬃፌ ሃናናይሳ ዮቲዳይሲ ቱማ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you:
8. 10GMVEዬሱሲ ኣሳ ባኮ ጼይጊዲ፥ «ሲዪቴ ዎዚናን ዎꬂቴ።BSBBSB: Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “Listen and understand.
9. 11GMVEኣስ ቱኒሲዛይ ኢዛዴ ዶናራ ሃ ኬዚዛይሳፌ ኣቲን ዶናራ ዱጌ ጌሊዛይ ቱኒሴና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: A man is not defiled by what enters his mouth, but by what comes out of it.”
10. 12GMVEቃሴ ኢዛ ካሊዛይቲ ኢዛኮ ሺቂዲ፥ «ፋርሳዌቲ ኔ ጊዳይሳ ሲዪዲ ሃንቄቲዳይሳ ኤራዲ?» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: Then the disciples came to Him and said, “Are You aware that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
11. 13GMVEኢዚ ኢስታስ፥ «ታ ኣዋ ሳሎይሲ ቶኮንታ ሚꬂ ዉሪካ ꬎቃሌታና።BSBBSB: But Jesus replied, “Every plant that My heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by its roots.
12. 14GMVEኢስታ ኣጋጊቴ፤ ኢስቲ ቆቄቲ ካሌꬂዛ ቆቄታ ጊዲዳ ጊሻስ፥ ቆቄቲ ቆቄ ካሌꬂኮ ናምኣይ ኢሶይ ኢሳራ ኦይኬቲዲ ኣፎን ዉላና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Disregard them! They are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.”
13. 15GMVEጴጽሮሲ ዬሱሳ፥ «ኔ ዮቲዳ ሌሚሶዛ ኑስ ቢርሻ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Peter said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
14. 16GMVEኢዚካ፥ «ኢንቴ ሃኢ ጋካናስካ ኤሪቤኬታ ጉሴ?BSBBSB: “Do you still not understand?” Jesus asked.
15. 17GMVEዶናራ ጌሊዛይ ዉሪ ዱጌ ቃንꬅ ካንꬂዲ ጌዴ ካሬ ኬዚዛይሳ ኤሬኬቲ?BSBBSB: “Do you not yet realize that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then is eliminated?
16. 18GMVEዶናራ ኬዚዛይ ጊዲኮ ዎዚናፔ ፑልቴስ። ኣስ ቱኒሲዛይ ሄሳ።BSBBSB: But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a man.
17. 19GMVEኢታ ቆፋይ፥ ሼምፖ ዎꬎይ፥ ላይማይ፥ ላይማታናስ ቃቃቶይ፥ ካይሶይ፥ ዎርዶ ማርካቴꬂኔ ኣሳ ሱንꬅ ሞሮይ ዉሪ ዎዚናፔ ፑልቴስ።BSBBSB: For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander.
18. 20GMVEኣስ ቱኒሲዛይ ሃይታንታፌ ኣቲን ኩሼ ሜጬቶንታ ሙሲ ኣስ ቱኒሴና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: These are what defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile him.”
19. 21GMVEዬሱሲ ሄፔ ኬዚዲ ጺሮሴኔ ሲዶና ጌቴቲዛ ዴሬ ቢዴስ።BSBBSB: Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.
20. 22GMVEኢሲ ካናኔ ማጫስ ዲዛራ ሄ ሄራፔ ኬዛዳ ዬሱሳኮ ያዳ፥ «ጎዶ፥ ዳዊቴ ናዉ! ታስ ሚሼታ! ታ ናያ ቱና ኣያናይ ኦይኪን ኬሃ ዋያዉስ» ጋዳ ዋሳዱስ።BSBBSB: And a Canaanite woman from that region came to Him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is miserably possessed by a demon.”
21. 23GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ኢዚ ኢሲ ቃላካ ኢዚስ ዛሪቤና። ሂስቲን ሄ ዎዴ ኢዛ ካሊዛይቲ ኢዛኮ ሺቂዲ፥ «ኑና ካላ ካላ ዋዪሲዛ ጊሻስ ኔ ኢዞ ሞይዛ» ጊዲ ኢዛ ኦይቺዳ።BSBBSB: But Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came and urged Him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
22. 24GMVEኢዚካ ኢስታስ፥ «ታኒ ኢስራኤሌ ኬꬃፌ ꬋይዳ ዶርሳታኮ ጻላ ኪቴታዲስ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
23. 25GMVEማጫሳያካ ዬሱሳ ቶሆ ቦላ ኩንዳዳ፥ «ጎዶ! ታና ማዳርኪ!» ጋዱስ።BSBBSB: The woman came and knelt before Him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
24. 26GMVEኢዚካ ኢዚስ ዛሪዲ፥ «ናይታ ካꬅ ኤኪዲ ካና ቡቱላታስ ዬጋናስ ቤሴና» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: But Jesus replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
25. 27GMVEኢዛካ፥ «ኤ ጎዶ፤ ቡቱላቲካ ባ ጎዳ ማዳፌ ጋዴን ዎꬊዳ ካꬅ ማጺ ሜቴስ» ጋዱስ።BSBBSB: “Yes, Lord,” she said, “even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
26. 28GMVEዬሱሲካ ማጫሳዮ፥ «ሃኔ ማጫሳዬ፥ ኔ ኣማኖይ ጊታ! ኔ ኮዪዳ ማላ ኔስ ሃኖ» ጊዴስ። ማጫሳይ ናያ ሄራካ ፓጻዱስ።BSBBSB: “O woman,” Jesus answered, “your faith is great! Let it be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
27. 29GMVEዬሱሲ ሄፔ ዴንዲዲ ጋሊላ ኣባ ላንቄ ቢዲ ሄን ዲዛ ኢሲ ዙማ ቦላ ኬዚ ኡቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Moving on from there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee. Then He went up on a mountain and sat down.
28. 30GMVEቆዳን ዳሮ ዴሬይ ዎቤታ፥ ቆቄታ፥ ሲላታ፥ ሃሳዮንታ ዱዴታ ሃራታካ ዳሮ ሃርጋንቻታ ኤሂዲ ኢዛ ሲንꬃን ዎꬂዴስ፤ ኢዚካ ኢስታ ፓꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: Large crowds came to Him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and laid them at His feet, and He healed them.
29. 31GMVEዱዴይ ሃሳይሺን፥ ቶሆ ሲላይ ፓጺሺን፥ ዎቤይ ሲቲ ጊ ሄሜቲሺን፥ ቆቄይ ጼሊሺን ቤኢዲ ኣሳይ ማላሌቲዴስ፤ ኢስራኤሌ ጎዳካ ጋላቲዴስ።BSBBSB: The crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.
30. 32GMVEዬሱሲ ባና ካሊዛይታ ጼይጊዲ፥ «ኣሳይ ታናራ ሄꬑ ጋላስ ጋምኢዳ ጊሻሲኔ ማና ካꬂ ባይንዳ ጊሻስ ኣሳይ ታና ሚቼስ። ኦጌ ቦላን ጋፋን ዳቡርዲ ኩንዶንታ ማላ ሜላ ኡሎራ ዬዳና ኮይኬ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, “I have compassion for this crowd, because they have already been with Me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may faint along the way.”
31. 33GMVEኢዛ ካሊዛይቲ፥ «ሃይሳን ኣይኮይካ ባይንዳ ባዞ ቢታን ሃይሳ ኬና ዴሬ ሚዛናስ ጊዲዛ ቁማ ኑ ኣዋፔ ዴማኔ?» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: The disciples replied, “Where in this desolate place could we find enough bread to feed such a large crowd?”
32. 34GMVEዬሱሲ ኢስታ፥ «ኢንቴስ ኣፑን ኡኬꬂ ዲዜ?» ጊ ኦይቺን ኢስቲካ፥ «ላፑን ኡኬꬂኔ ቂ ጉꬃ ሞሌቲ ዴቴስ» ጊዳ።BSBBSB: “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”
33. 35GMVEኢዚካ ዴሬዚ ጋዴን ኡታና ማላ ኣዛዚዴስ።BSBBSB: And He instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground.
34. 36GMVEላፑን ኡኬꬃኔ ሞሌዛ ባ ኩሼን ኦይኪዲ ጋላቲዳፔ ጉዬ ሜንꬂዲ ባና ካሊዛይታስ ኢሚዴስ፤ ኢስቲካ ዴራስ ጊሺዳ።BSBBSB: Taking the seven loaves and the fish, He gave thanks and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
35. 37GMVEኣሳይ ዉሪካ ሚዲ ካሊዴስ፤ ዬሱሳ ካሊዛይቲ ኣሳፔ ኣቲዳይሳ ላፑን ሌማቴ ኩሜꬅ ሺሺዳ።BSBBSB: They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
36. 38GMVEሚዳይቲካ ናይቲኔ ማጫሳይ ባይንዳ ኣዴቲ ጻላ ኦይዱ ሺ ጊዲዳ።BSBBSB: A total of four thousand men were fed, besides women and children.
37. 39GMVEዬሱሲ ዴሬዛ ሞይዚዳፔ ጉዬ ዎጎሎን ጌሊዲ ሜጊዶኔ ጌቴቲዛሶ ቢዴስ።BSBBSB: After Jesus had dismissed the crowds, He got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan.
