1. 1GMVEካዎ ሄርዶሳ ዎዴ ዬሱሲ ቤቴሊሄሜ ዩሁዳን ዬሌቲዳፔ ጉዬ ኣርሼይ ሞኪዛ ባጋፌ ኤራንቻቲ ዬሩሳላሜ ዪዲ፥BSBBSB: After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
2. 2GMVE«ዬሌቲዳ ኣይሁዳ ካዎይ ኣዋን ዲዜ? ኣዋ ኣርሼይ ሞኪዛ ባጋራ ዲዛ ጾሊንቴዛ ቤኢዲ ኢዛስ ጎይናና ዪዶስ» ጊዲ ኦይቺዳ።BSBBSB: asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
3. 3GMVEካዎ ሄርዶሲ ሄሳ ሲዪዲ ዳጋሚዴስ፤ ዬሩሳላሜን ዲዛ ኣሳይ ዉሪ ኢዛራ ዳጋሚዴስ።BSBBSB: When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
4. 4GMVEኢዚካ ቄሴታ ሃላቃታኔ ዎጋ ታማርሲዛይታ ኡባ ሺሺዲ፥ «ኪርስቶሲ ኣዋን ዬሌታኔ?» ጊዲ ኦይቺዴስ።BSBBSB: And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.
5. 5GMVEኢስቲካ ኢዛስ፥ «ናቤይ፥ ‹ዩሁዳ ቢታን ዲዛሬ ሃኔ ቤቴሊሄሜ! ታ ዴሬ ኢስራኤሌ ናጊዛዴይ ኔፔ ኬዛና ጊሻስ ሃንኮ ዩሁዳ ሃሪዛይታፔ ኣዛንካ ጉጻካ› ጊዲ ጻፊዳ ጊሻስ ኢዚ ቤቴሊሄሜ ዩሁዳን ዬሌታና» ጊዲ ዮቲዳ።BSBBSB: “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6. 7GMVEሄሳፌ ጉዬ ሄርዶሲ ሄ ኤራንቻታ ጌማራ ጼይጊሲዲኔ ኢስታ ሃሳይሲዲ ጾሊንቴዚ ኢስታስ ቤቲዳ ዎዴዮ ሻኪ ኤሪዴስ።BSBBSB: Then Herod called the Magi secretly and learned from them the exact time the star had appeared.
7. 8GMVEኤራንቻታ ቤቴሊሄሜ ዬዲዲ፥ «ቢዲ ጉꬃ ናዛ ኮዪቴ፥ ታኒካ ባዳ ኢዛስ ጎይናና ማላ ዴሚዳ ማላ ሃ ታኮ ሲሚዲ ኢዚ ኣዋን ዲዛኮን ታስ ዮቲቴ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: And sending them to Bethlehem, he said: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”
8. 9GMVEኤራንቻቲካ ካዎይ ኢስታስ ጊዳይሳ ሲዪዳፔ ጉዬ ሲሚ ቢዳ፤ ኣርሼይ ሞኪዛ ባጋራ ኢስታስ ቤቲዳ ጾሊንቴይ ኢስታ ካሌꬂዲ ጉꬃ ናዚ ዲዛሶ ጋꬂዴስ።BSBBSB: After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was.
9. 10GMVEኢስቲ ጾሊንቴዛ ቤኢዲ ዳሮ ኡፋዬቲዳ።BSBBSB: When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great delight.
10. 11GMVEኬꬄ ጌሊዲ ጉꬃ ናዛ ኢዛ ኣዮ ማራሚራ ዴሚዲኔ ጉልባቲዲ ኢዛስ ጎይኒዳ፤ ባ ሳጺኔ ሳጺኔ ዶይዲ ዎርቃ፥ ኤጻኔኔ ካርቤ ጌቴቲዛ ሚሽ ኢዛስ ኢሚዳ።BSBBSB: On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.
11. 12GMVEኢስቲ ሄርዶሳኮ ሲሞንታ ማላ ኣጉሞን ኬሂ ናጌታና ማላ ጌቴቲዳ ጊሻስ ሃራ ኦጌራ ባ ዴሬ ሲሚዳ።BSBBSB: And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another route.
12. 13GMVEኤራንቻቲ ቢዳፔ ጉዬ ጎዳ ኪታንቻይ ዮሴፌስ ኣጉሞራ ቤቲዲ፥ «ሄርዶሲ ጉꬃ ናዛ ዎꬋና ኮይዛ ጊሻስ ኔ ሲማና ዎዴ ታ ኔና ኤሪሳና ጋካናስ ዴንዳዳ ጉꬃ ናዛ ኣዬይራ ኤካዳ ዱጌ ጊብጼ ቢታ ባቃታዳ ሄን ዳሻ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”
13. 14GMVEሄሳ ጊሻስ ዮሴፌይ ዴንዲዲ ኣዪዮ ናዛራ ኤኪዲ ጊዶꬃራ ዱጌ ጊብጼ ቢታ ቢዴስ።BSBBSB: So he got up, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,
14. 15GMVEሄርዶሲ ሃይቃና ጋካናስ ሄን ዴኢዴስ። ሄሳንካ፥ «ታ ናዛ ታ ጊብጼ ቢታፌ ጼይጋዲስ» ጊዲ ጎዳይ ካሴ ናቤ ዶናን ሃሳይዳይሲ ፖሌቲዴስ።BSBBSB: where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
15. 16GMVEኤራንቻቲ ኢዛ ባሌꬂዳይሳ ኤሪዳ ዎዴ ሄርዶሲ ኬሂ ሃንቄቲዴስ። ኤራንቻቲ ኢዛስ ካሴ ዮቲዳ ማላ ባ ኣስ ኪቲዲ ናምኡ ላይꬂኔ ናምኡ ላይꬅ ኩሞንታይታ ቤቴሊሄሜኒኔ ቤቴሊሄሜ ዩሾን ዲዛ ጉꬃ ኣቱማ ናይታ ኡባ ዎꬊሲዴስ።BSBBSB: When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was filled with rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the Magi.
16. 17GMVEሄሳን፥ «ዬሆይኔ ጊታ ዋሶ ጊሪሳይ ኤራማን ሲዬቲዴስ፤ ኢራኤላ ባ ናይታስ ዬካዱስ፤ ናይቲ ዉሪ ዉሪዳ ጊሻስ ሚናናስ ዳንዳዮንታ ኢጻዱስ» ጌቴቲዲ ናቤ ኤርማሳን ዮቴቲዳይሲ ፖሌቲዴስ።BSBBSB: Then what was spoken through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
17. 19GMVEሄርዶሲ ሃይቂዳፔ ጉዬ ጎዳ ኪታንቻይ ኣጉሞራ ዮሴፌስ ጊብጼ ቢታን ቤቲዲ፥BSBBSB: After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.
18. 20GMVE«ዴንዳዳ ጉꬃ ናዛኔ ኢዛ ኣዪዮ ኤካዳ ኢስራኤሌ ቢታ ሲማ፤ ናዛ ዎꬋና ኮይዛይቲ ሃይቂዳ» ጊዴስ።BSBBSB: “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those seeking the Child’s life are now dead.”
19. 21GMVEዮሴፌይ ዴንዲዲ ናዛ ኣዬይራ ኤኪዲ ኢስራኤሌ ቢታ ሲሚዴስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and went to the land of Israel.
20. 22GMVEጊዶ ኣቲን ኣርካላዎሴይ ባ ኣዋ ሄርዶሳ ሶሆን ዩሁዳን ካዎቲዳይሳ ሲዪዲኔ ሄ ባናስ ባቢዴስ፤ ጎዳይ ኣጉሞራ ኢዚ ሄ ቦንታ ማላ ዮቲዳ ጊሻስ ጋሊላ ኣዉራጃ ቢዴስ።BSBBSB: But when he learned that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,
21. 23GMVEናዚሬቴ ጌቴቲዛ ካታማዮ ቢዲ ሄን ዱስ ኦይኪዴስ። ሄሳንካ ካሴ ናቤታን «ናዚሬቴ ኣስ ጌቴታና» ጌቴቲዲ ሲንꬃፌ ሃናናይሳ ካሴቲ ዮቴቲዳይሲ ፖሌቲዴስ።BSBBSB: and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
