1. 1GOFEፋርሳወታ ያራፐ ግድዳ፥ አይሁደታ ሀላቃይ፥ ንቆድሞሳ ጌተትያ እስ አደይ ደኤስ።BSBBSB: Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a leader of the Jews.
2. 2GOFEንቆድሞስ ቃማ የሱሳኮ ይድ፥ “አስታማርያዉ፥ ኔኒ ፆሳይ ኪትዳ አስታማረ ግደይሳ ኑኒ ኤሮስ። አይስ ጊኮ፥ ፆሳይ እያራ ዶና እፅኮ ሀ ኔኒ ኦꬅያ ማላታ ኦꬃናዉ ዳንዳእያ አስ ባዋ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs You are doing if God were not with him.”
3. 3GOFEየሱሲ ዛሪድ፥ “ታኒ ነዉ ቱማ ኦዳይስ፤ ኦንካ ዛር የለቶና እፅኮ ፆሳ ካዎተꬃ በአናዉ ዳንዳኤና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”
4. 4GOFEንቆድሞስ፥ “ጬጋ አስ ዋንድ ዛር የለታናዉ ዳንዳኢ? ባ አየ ኡሎ ስም ገልድ ዛር የለታናዉ ዳንዳኢ?” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time to be born?”
5. 5GOFEየሱሲ ዛሪድ፥ “ታኒ ነዉ ቱማ ኦዳይስ፤ ኦንካ ሃꬃፈነ ጌሻ አያናፐ የለቶና እፅኮ፥ ፆሳ ካዎተꬃ ገላናዉ ዳንዳኤና።BSBBSB: Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
6. 6GOFEአሾ ናአተꬅ አዉፐነ አይፐ ዬስ፤ ፆሳ ናአተꬅ ጌሻ አያናፐ እመቴስ።BSBBSB: Flesh is born of flesh, but spirit is born of the Spirit.
7. 7GOFEታኒ፥ ‘ህንተ ዛር የለታናዉ በሴስ’ ጋዳ ህንተዉ ኦድዳ ግሾ ኔኒ ማላለቶፋ።BSBBSB: Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again.’
8. 8GOFEጫርኮይ ባ ኮይዳ በሲ ጫርኬስ። ኔኒ እያ ኮሽንቻ ስአሳፐ አትሽን፥ እ አዉፐ ያኮ ዎይኮ አዉ ብያኮ ኤራካ። አያናፐ የለትዳ ኡባይ ሄሳ መላ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
9. 9GOFEያትን ንቆድሞስ፥ “ሄስ ዋንድ ሀናናዉ ዳንዳኢ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.
10. 10GOFEየሱሲ ዛሪድ፥ “ኔኒ እስራኤለታ አስታማረ ግዳሸ ሀይሳ ኤርኪ?BSBBSB: “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and you do not understand these things?
11. 11GOFEታኒ ነዉ ቱማ ኦዳይስ፤ ኑ ኤርያባ ኦዶስነ በእዳባ ማርካቶስ፥ ሽን ኑ ማርካተꬃ ህንተ ኤከከታ።BSBBSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, and yet you people do not accept our testimony.
12. 12GOFEታኒ ህንተዉ ሳአባ ኦድን ህንተ አማኖናባ ግድኮ ሳሎባ ኦድን ዋትድ አማናኔ?BSBBSB: If I have told you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
13. 13GOFEሳሎፐ ዎꬍዳ አሳ ናኣፐ አትሽን፥ ሳሎ ከይዳይ ኦንካ ባዋ፤ ሳሎን ደእያ አሳ ናአይ ታና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: No one has ascended into heaven except the One who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.
14. 14GOFEሙሰይ መላ ቢታን ናሰ ብራታ ሾሽ ካቅዳይሳዳ ታና አማንዳ ኡባይ መርና ደኡዋ ኤካና መላ አሳ ናአይ ꬎቁ ጋናዉ በሴስ።BSBBSB: Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
15. 16GOFEፆሳ ናኣ አማንያ ኡባይ መርና ደኡዋ ላታናፐ አትሽን፥ ꬋዮና መላ ፆሳይ ሀ አላምያ ዳሮ ዶስዳ ግሾ ባ እስ ናኣ እሚስ።BSBBSB: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
16. 17GOFEፆሳይ ባ ናኣ ሀ አላምያ ኪትዳይ አላምያ ፕርዳናዉ ግዶናሽን አላምያ እያ ባጋራ አሻናሳ።BSBBSB: For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
17. 18GOFEናኣ አማንያ ኦንካ ፕርደተና፥ ሽን ናኣ አማኖና ኦንካ እስ ፆሳ ናኣ አማንቦና ግሾ ሀእ ፕርደትስ።BSBBSB: Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
18. 19GOFEፕርዳይካ ሀይሳ፦ ፖኦይ አላምያ ይስ፥ ሽን አሳ ኦሶይ ኢታ ግድያ ግሾ አሳይ ፖኡዋፐ አꬅድ ꬉማ ዶሴስ።BSBBSB: And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil.
19. 20GOFEኢታባ ኦꬅያ ኦንካ ፖኦ እፄስ። አይስ ጊኮ፥ ባ ኦሶይ ቆንጮና መላ ፖኡዋኮ ዬና።BSBBSB: Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
20. 21GOFEሽን ቱማ ኦꬅያ ኦንካ ፆሳይ ኪትዳይሳዳ እ ኦꬅዳይሳ ፖኦይ ቆንጭሳና መላ ፖኡዋኮ ዬስ።BSBBSB: But whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”
21. 22GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ የሱሲነ እያ ታማረት ይሁዳ ቢታ ብዶሶና። የሱሲ ያን ፃማቅሸ ኤንታራ ጉꬃ ዎደ ኡትስ።BSBBSB: After this, Jesus and His disciples went into the Judean countryside, where He spent some time with them and baptized.
22. 23GOFEቃስ ዮሃንስ ሳሌማ ማታን ደእያ ሄኖና ግያ በሳን ግድያ ሃꬅ ደእያ ግሾ አሳ ያን ፃማቄስ። አሳይካ ያ ብድ ፃማቀቶሶና።BSBBSB: Now John was also baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because the water was plentiful there, and people kept coming to be baptized.
23. 24GOFEሄ ዎደ ዮሃንስ ቡሮ ቃሸትቤና።BSBBSB: (For John had not yet been thrown into prison.)
24. 25GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ዮሃንሳ ታማረትነ እስ አይሁደ አደይ ጌሾ ዎጋባ ፓላምዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then a dispute arose between John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the issue of ceremonial washing.
25. 26GOFEኤንቲ ዮሃንሳኮ ብድ፥ “አስታማርያዉ፥ ዮርዳኖሰ ሻፋፐ ሄፍንꬃን ኔራ ደኤይስ፥ ኔኒ እያባ ማርካትዳይስ፥ ሄኮ ፃማቄስ። አሳ ኡባይካ እያኮ ቦሶና” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: So John’s disciples came to him and said, “Look, Rabbi, the One who was with you beyond the Jordan, the One you testified about—He is baptizing, and everyone is going to Him.”
26. 27GOFEዮሃንስ ዛሪድ፥ “ፆሳይ እሞና አስ አይብባካ ኤካናዉ ዳንዳኤና።BSBBSB: John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.
27. 28GOFE‘ታኒ ክርስቶሳ ግድከ፥ ሽን እያፐ ስን ኪተታስ’ ግዳይሳስ ታዉ ህንተ፥ ህንተ ሁጰን ማርካ።BSBBSB: You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but am sent ahead of Him.’
28. 29GOFEገሎስ ጊግዳራ ኤከናዉ ጊግዳይሳሳ። ኤከይሳ ላገይ እያ ማታን ኤቅድ እ ገይሳ ስእያ ዎደ ዳሮ ኡፋይቴስ። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ሀይስ ታ ኡፋይሳይ ፖለትስ።BSBBSB: The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom stands and listens for him, and is overjoyed to hear the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
29. 30GOFEእ ግታታናዉ ታኒ ጉፃናዉ በሴስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: He must increase; I must decrease.
30. 31GOFEቦላፈ የይስ ኡባፈ ቦላ። ሳአፐ በንትዳይስ ሳአባ። እ ሳአባ ኦዴስ። ሳሎፐ የይስ ኡባፈ ቦላ።BSBBSB: The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The One who comes from heaven is above all.
31. 32GOFEእ ባ በእዳባነ ስእዳባ ማርካቴስ፥ ሽን እያ ማርካተꬃ ኤከይ ባዋ።BSBBSB: He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.
32. 33GOFEእያ ማርካተꬃ ኤክያ ኦንካ ፆሳይ ቱማ ግደይሳ ቆንጭሴስ።BSBBSB: Whoever accepts His testimony has certified that God is truthful.
33. 34GOFEፆሳይ ባ ጌሻ አያና እያዉ ኩመꬅ እምያ ግሾ ፆሳይ ኪትዳይስ ፆሳ ቃላ ኦዴስ።BSBBSB: For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.
34. 35GOFEአዋይ ባ ናኣ ዶስድ ኡባባ እያ ኩሸን ዎꬅስ።BSBBSB: The Father loves the Son and has placed all things in His hands.
35. 36GOFEናኣ አማንያ ኡራስ መርና ደኦይ ደኤስ። ሽን ናኣ አማኖናይሳ ቦላ ፆሳ ሀንቆይ ደኤስፐ አትሽን፥ እ ደኦ ደመና።BSBBSB: Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.”
