1. 1GOFEእስ ሳምባታ ጋላስ የሱሲ እስ ፋርሳወታ ሀላቃ ሶ ካꬅ ማናዉ ገልያ ዎደ አሳይ ጫድ ፄሎሶና።BSBBSB: One Sabbath, Jesus went to eat in the home of a leading Pharisee, and those in attendance were watching Him closely.
2. 2GOFEሄ በሳን ሻዉሄ ሀርገን ዋየትያ እስ አስ እያዉ ስንꬃ ባጋራ ዝንእስ።BSBBSB: Right there before Him was a man with dropsy.
3. 3GOFEየሱሲ ፋርሳወታነ ህገ አስታማረታ፥ “ሳምባታ ጋላስ ሀርጋንቾ ፓሶይ ዎገየ ዎጋ ግደኔ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: So Jesus asked the experts in the law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”
4. 4GOFEኤንቲ ስእ ግዶሶና። የሱሲ ሀርገትያ ኡራ ቦች ፓꬅድ ሞይዝስ።BSBBSB: But they remained silent. Then Jesus took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him on his way.
5. 5GOFE“ቃስካ ህንተፈ እሱዋስ ናእ ዎይኮ ቦር ሳምባታ ጋላስ አፎን ዉልኮ፥ ኤለስድ ከሶናይ ኦኔ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: And He asked them, “Which of you whose son or ox falls into a pit on the Sabbath day will not immediately pull him out?”
6. 6GOFEኤንቲ እስባካ ዛራናዉ ዳንዳእቦኮና።BSBBSB: And they were unable to answer these questions.
7. 7GOFEየሱሲ እማቱዋስ ፄገትዳይሳት ቦንቾ በሲ ዶርሽን በእድ፥ ሀ ሌምሱዋ ኦድስ፦BSBBSB: When Jesus noticed how the guests chose the places of honor, He told them a parable:
8. 8GOFE“እስ አስ ነና ያጋኖ ፄግኮ ቦንቾ በሳን ኡቶፋ። ኔፐ አꬍድ ቦንቸትያ አስ ፄገታናዉ ዳንዳኤስ።BSBBSB: “When you are invited to a wedding banquet, do not sit in the place of honor, in case someone more distinguished than you has been invited.
9. 9GOFEህንተና ናምአታካ ፄግዳይስ ይድ፥ ‘ነ በሳ ሀ እማꬃስ የዳ’ ግያ ዎደ ኔኒ ዬላታሸ ዝቃ በሲ ዎꬋሳ።BSBBSB: Then the host who invited both of you will come and tell you, ‘Give this man your seat.’ And in humiliation, you will have to take the last place.
10. 10GOFEግዶሽን፥ ነ ፄገትዳ ዎደ ኮይሮታዳ ዝቃ በሲ በአዳ ኡታ። ፄጎይስ ይድ፥ ‘ታ ላግያዉ፥ ሀ ቦንቾ በሳን ኡታ’ ያጋና። ሄ ዎደ ኔራ እስፈ ፄገትዳ አሳ ኡባ ስንꬃን ነ ቦንቸታና።BSBBSB: But when you are invited, go and sit in the last place, so that your host will come and tell you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in front of everyone at the table with you.
11. 11GOFEባና ꬎቁ ꬎቁ ኦꬅያ ኡባይ ካዉያና፤ ባና ዝቅ ዝቅ ኦꬅያ ኡባይ ꬎቁ ꬎቁ ጋና።”BSBBSB: For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
12. 12GOFEቃስ የሱሲ እያ ሞክዳ ኬꬃ አዋኮ፥ “ቁማ ዎይኮ ካሆ እማቶ ፄግያ ዎደ፥ ኔኒ ኩሸ ዛሮ ፄጎና መላ ነ ላገታ ዎይኮ ነ እሻታ ዎይኮ ነ ዳቦታ ዎይኮ ነ ዱረ ሾሮታ እማቶ ፄጎፓ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus said to the man who had invited Him, “When you host a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or brothers or relatives or rich neighbors. Otherwise, they may invite you in return, and you will be repaid.
13. 13GOFEግዶሽን፥ ነ እማቶ ጊግስዳ ዎደ ማንቆታ፥ ዎበታ፥ ጉንዳታነ ቆቀታ ፄጋ፤ ኔኒ አንጀታና።BSBBSB: But when you host a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind,
14. 14GOFEሀይሳቲ ኩሸ ዛራናዉ ዳንዳኦና ግሾ ኩሸ ዛሮይ ጌሻታ ደንዶ ጋላሳን ነዉ ስማና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: and you will be blessed. Since they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
15. 15GOFEየሱሳራ ዎላ እማቶ ቦላ ኡቶይሳታ ግዶፈ እሶይ፥ ሄሳ ስእድ፥ “ፆሳ ካዎተꬃን እማቶ ቦላ ኡተይስ አንጀትዳይሳ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: When one of those reclining with Him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is everyone who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
16. 16GOFEየሱሲ፥ “እስ አስ ግታ እማቶ ጊግስድ ዳሮ አሳታ ፄግስ።BSBBSB: But Jesus replied, “A certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests.
17. 17GOFEእማቶይ ሞከትያ ሳተይ ጋክያ ዎደ፥ ፄገትዳ እማꬃታ፥ ‘ሄኮ ኡባባይ ጊግስ፥ ሃ ዪተ’ ያግድ ፄጋናዳ ባ አይልያ ኪትስ።BSBBSB: When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’
18. 18GOFE“ሽን ኡባይካ ባንታ ጋሶ ጋሶ መꬍዶሶና። እሶይ፥ ‘ሀእ ቡሮ ጋደ ሻምዳ ግሾ፥ ባዳ በአናዉ ኮሼስ፤ ሀያና ታና አጋርክ ያጋ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first one said, ‘I have bought a field, and I need to go see it. Please excuse me.’
19. 19GOFEሀንኮይ፥ ‘እቻሹ ዋꬃ ቦር ሻማስ፤ ኤንታና ዋፃ በአና ግሾ ሀያና ታና ላንጮፋ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out. Please excuse me.’
20. 20GOFEቃስ ሀራይ፥ ‘ታኒ ቡሮ መዳን ደእያ ግሾ፥ ያናዉ ዳንዳእከ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, so I cannot come.’
21. 21GOFE“አይለይ ስም ይድ ሄ ኡባ ባ ጎዳስ ኦድስ። ሄ ዎደ ያጋኖ አዋይ ሀንቀትድ አይልያኮ፥ ‘ኤለሳዳ ካታማን ደእያ ዎጋ ኦገታነ ዳጋላታ ባዳ፥ ማንቆታ፥ ዎበታ፥ ቆቀታነ ጉንዳታ ሃ ኤሀ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: The servant returned and reported all this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’
22. 22GOFE“አይለይ፥ ‘ታ ጎዳዉ፥ ነ ኪትዳይስ ኡባይ ፖለትስ፥ ሽን ሀእካ በሲ ደኤስ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: ‘Sir,’ the servant replied, ‘what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.’
23. 23GOFE“ጎዳይ አይልያኮ፥ ‘ሆሮጋታ ቦላነ፥ ጋደ ግዶ ኦገታ ከያ፥ ታ ኬꬃይ ኩማና ጋካናዉ ደምዳ ኡባ ያና መላ ኦꬃ።BSBBSB: So the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.
24. 24GOFEታ ህንተዉ ኦዳይስ፤ እማቶ ፄገትዳይሳታፐ ኦንካ ታ ግብራፐ ሞናይሳ ኤርተ’ ግስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: For I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will taste my banquet.’”
25. 25GOFEዳሮ አሳይ እያራ ዎላ ብሽን፥ የሱሲ ኤንታኮ ጉየ ስሚድ፥BSBBSB: Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and He turned and said to them,
26. 26GOFE“ታኮ ያ ኡባይ ባ አዋነ ባ አይዉ፥ ባ ማችዉነ ባ ናይታ፥ ባ እሻታነ ባ ምቸታ፥ ሀር አቶሽን ባ ደኡዋ እፆናይ ታ ታማረ ግዳናዉ ዳንዳኤና።BSBBSB: “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple.
27. 27GOFEባ ማስቃልያ ቶክድ ታና ካሎናይ ታ ታማረ ግዳናዉ ዳንዳኤና።BSBBSB: And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.
28. 28GOFE“ህንተፈ እስ አስ ሹቻ ኬꬅ ኬፃናዉ ኮይኮ፥ ኬꬃ ኬፅድ ኦንጋናዉ አይ መላ ሚሸ ኮሽያኮ ኮይሮትድ ኤራናዉ ቆፕ በኦናይ ኦኔ?BSBBSB: Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?
29. 29GOFEሄሳ ግዶና እፅኮ፥ ሀ ኡራይ ባሶ ሹቹ ሂፅን ቁስተꬅ ፆንኮ፥BSBBSB: Otherwise, if he lays the foundation and is unable to finish the work, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,
30. 30GOFEበእያ ኡባይ፥ ‘ሀ ኡራይ ግምበꬅ ኦይክን ቁስታናዉ እያ ፆንስ’ ያግድ ቦሮሶና።BSBBSB: saying, ‘This man could not finish what he started to build.’
31. 31GOFE“ዎይኮ እስ ካዎይ ሀራ ካዎራ ኦለታናዉ ደንድሸ ላታሙ ሙኩሉ ኦላንቾታ ኤክ ያ ካዉዋራ ታሙ ሙኩሉ ኦላንቾታራ ኤቀታናዉ ዳንዳአናይሳነ ዳንዳኦናይሳ ኡትድ ዞረቶናይ ኦኔ?BSBBSB: Or what king on his way to war with another king will not first sit down and consider whether he can engage with ten thousand men the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
32. 32GOFEኤቀታናዉ ዳንዳኤቶናባ ግድኮ፥ ሄ ካዋራ ሃሆን ደእሽን ጊጋናዉ ኮይሮትድ ጭማ የድድ ኦይቼስ።BSBBSB: And if he is unable, he will send a delegation while the other king is still far off, to ask for terms of peace.
33. 33GOFEሄሳዳካ፥ ህንተፈ ኦንካ ባዉ ደእያባ ኡባ አጎና እፅኮ፥ ታ ታማረ ግዳናዉ ዳንዳኤና።BSBBSB: In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple.
34. 34GOFE“ማፅነይ ሎኦ፥ ሽን ማፅነይ ባ ማልኡዋ አግኮ፥ ዋንድ ማፅነ ጌተታናዉ ዳንዳኢ?BSBBSB: Salt is good, but if the salt loses its savor, with what will it be seasoned?
35. 35GOFEቢታተꬃስነ አራዳተꬃስ ማዶና ግሾ ዎራ የገቴስ። ህዛ፥ ስእያ ሀይꬅ ደእያ አስ ስኦ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile, and it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
