1. 1GOFEእስ ጋላስ ቃራፃ ቃንፀይሳትነ ናጋራንቾት የሱሳ ትምርትያ ስአናዉ እያ ዩሾን ሺቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: Now all the tax collectors and sinners were gathering around to listen to Jesus.
2. 2GOFEሽን ፋርሳወትነ ህገ አስታማረት፥ “ሀይስ ኡራይ ናጋራንቾታ ሺሽድ ኤኬስ፥ ኤንታራ እስፈ ሜስ” ያግድ ዙዙምዶሶና።BSBBSB: So the Pharisees and scribes began to grumble: “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
3. 3GOFEየሱሲ ሀ ሌምሱዋ ኤንታዉ ያግድ ኦድስ፦BSBBSB: Then Jesus told them this parable:
4. 4GOFE“ህንተ ግዶፈ እሱዋስ ፄቱ ዶርሳት ደእያባ ግድኮ ኤንታፈ እሶይ ꬋይኮ ኡዱፉን ታማነ ኡዱፉናታ ባዞን አግድ ꬋዮይሳ ደማና ጋካናዉ ኮዮናይ ኦኔ?BSBBSB: “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?
5. 5GOFEደምዳ ዎደ ኡፋይትድ ባ ጋናን ቶክድ፥BSBBSB: And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders,
6. 6GOFEባ ሶ ስሜስ። ባ ላገታነ ሾሮታ ፄግድ፥ ‘ꬋይዳ ታ ዶርሳ ደማስ፥ ታራ እስፈ ኡፋይትተ’ ያጌስ።BSBBSB: comes home, and calls together his friends and neighbors to tell them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep!’
7. 7GOFEሄሳዳካ፥ ማሮት ኮሾና ኡዱፉን ታማነ ኡዱፉን ፅሎታፐ አꬅድ፥ ማሮታን ገልያ እስ ናጋራንቹዋ ጋሶን ሳሎን ግታ ኡፋይስ ግዴስ።BSBBSB: I tell you that in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous ones who do not need to repent.
8. 8GOFE“ዎይኮ ታሙ ብር ደእያ እስ ማጫስያ ታማፈ ኢስያ ꬋይኮ ደማና ጋካናዉ ፆምፐ ኦይꬃዳ ኬꬃ ፕታዳ ምንꬃ ኮዮናይ ኦኔ?BSBBSB: Or what woman who has ten silver coins and loses one of them does not light a lamp, sweep her house, and search carefully until she finds it?
9. 9GOFEደምዳ ዎደ ባ ላገታነ ባ ሾሮታ ፄጋዳ ‘ꬋይዳ ታ እስ ብራ ደምዳ ግሾ ታራ ኡፋይትተ’ ያጋዉሱ።BSBBSB: And when she finds it, she calls together her friends and neighbors to say, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin.’
10. 10GOFEስእተ፥ ሄሳ መላ እስ ማሮተꬃን ገልያ ናጋራንቹዋን ፆሳ ኪታንቾታ ስንꬃን ኡፋይስ ግዴስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”
11. 11GOFEዛሪድ የሱሲ፥ “እስ ኡራስ ናምኡ ናይት ደኦሶና።BSBBSB: Then Jesus said, “There was a man who had two sons.
12. 12GOFEኤንታፈ ካሎ ናአይ ባ አዋኮ፥ ‘ታ አዋዉ፥ ነ ሻሉዋፐ ታ ግሹዋ ታዉ እማ’ ያግስ። አዋይ ባ ሻሉዋ ባ ናይታስ ሻክስ።BSBBSB: The younger son said to him, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.
13. 13GOFEጉꬃ ጋላሳፐ ጉየ፥ ካሎ ናአይ ባ ግሹዋ ኡባ፥ ቃች ኤክድ ሃሆ ቢታ ብስ። ያን አልታጫን ሻሉዋ ቶችድ ኦንግስ።BSBBSB: After a few days, the younger son got everything together and journeyed to a distant country, where he squandered his wealth in wild living.
14. 14GOFEእ ባዉ ደእያባ ኡባ ዉርስዳፐ ጉየ ሄ ቢታ ኡባን ምኖ ኮሽ ከይን መቶትስ።BSBBSB: After he had spent all he had, a severe famine swept through that country, and he began to be in need.
15. 15GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ሄ ቢታ አሳፐ እሱዋ ሶ ጋታ ገልስ። ኡራይ እያ ጉዱንꬆ ሄማና መላ ባ ሞꬁ የድስ።BSBBSB: So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed the pigs.
16. 16GOFEጉዱንꬆት ምያ ሀርቁዋፈ ማናዉ አሞትስ፥ ሽን እዮካ እያዉ እምያ አስ በንትቤና።BSBBSB: He longed to fill his belly with the pods the pigs were eating, but no one would give him a thing.
17. 17GOFEእ ባ ዎዛናኮ ስሚድ፥ ‘አፑን ታ አዋ አይለታስ ካꬅ ዎራ ዎꬍን ታ ሀይሳን ኮሻራ ሀይቃናዉ ጋካድና?’BSBBSB: Finally he came to his senses and said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have plenty of food, but here I am, starving to death!
18. 18GOFEደንዳዳ ታ አዋኮ ባዳ፥ ‘ታ አዋዉ፥ ሳሎን ፆሳ፥ ሳአን ነና ቆሀስ።BSBBSB: I will get up and go back to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
19. 19GOFEህዛፐ ነ ናአ ጌተታዳ ፄገታናዉ ታዉ በሶና ግሾ፥ ነ ሶን ደእያ አይለታፐ እሱዋዳ ታና ፓይዳ’ ያጋና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’
20. 20GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ደንድድ ባ አዋኮ ብስ። “ሀኖሽን፥ እ ቡሮ ሃሆን ደእሽን አዋይ ቃትድ፥ እያኮ ዎፅ ብድ፥ እድምድ ዬርስ።BSBBSB: So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still in the distance, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.
21. 21GOFEናአይካ፥ ‘ታ አዋዉ ሳሎን ፆሳ፥ ሳአን ነና ታ ቆሀስ። ህዛፐ ነ ናአ ጌተታዳ ፄገታናዉ በስከ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: The son declared, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22. 22GOFE“እያ አዋይ አይለታ ፄግድ፥ ‘ኤለስድ ኡባፈ ሎኦ ግድዳ ማኦ ኤህድ እያ ማይዝተ፤ እያ ብራን ሳጋዮ፥ እያ ቶሆን ጫማ አꬅተ።BSBBSB: But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
23. 23GOFEሞꬎ ጋታርመንꬆ ኤህድ ሹክተ፥ ሞስ፥ ኡፋይቶስ።BSBBSB: Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let us feast and celebrate.
24. 24GOFEታ ናአይ ሀይስ ሀይቅስ፥ ሽን ሀእ ፓፅስ፤ ꬋይስ፥ ሽን በንትስ’ ያግስ። ሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ኡፋይስ ዶምዶሶና።BSBBSB: For this son of mine was dead and is alive again! He was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.
25. 25GOFE“ሄ ዎደ ባይራ ናአይ ጎሻ ጋደን ደኤስ። ያፐ ይሸ ሶ ማትሽን የꬅነ ጉፋ ግርስ ስእስ።BSBBSB: Meanwhile the older son was in the field, and as he approached the house, he heard music and dancing.
26. 26GOFEእ፥ አይለታፐ እሱዋ ፄግድ ሀንያባይ አይበኮ ኤራናዉ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: So he called one of the servants and asked what was going on.
27. 27GOFEአይለይ፥ ‘ነ እሻይ ሳሮ ይዳ ግሾ ነ አዋይ ሞꬎ ጋታርመንꬆ እያዉ ሹክስ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: ‘Your brother has returned,’ he said, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has him back safe and sound.’
28. 28GOFE“ባይራ እሻይ ይሎትድ ሶ ገላናዉካ ኮይቤና። አዋይ ካረ ከይድ ሶ ገላና መላ እያ ዎስስ።BSBBSB: The older son became angry and refused to go in. So his father came out and pleaded with him.
29. 29GOFEሽን እ ባ አዋኮ፥ ‘ሄኮ፥ ሀይሳ መላ ላይꬅ ታ ነዉ አይለታዳ ነ ኪታፐ እሱዋካ ፓጭሶና ነዉ ኪተትን፥ ታኒ ታ ላገታራ ኡፋይታና መላ ሀር አቶሽን እስ ላቃ ዴሸ እማባካ።BSBBSB: But he answered his father, ‘Look, all these years I have served you and never disobeyed a commandment of yours. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.
30. 30GOFEሀኖሽን፥ ሀይስ ነ ናአይ ነ ሻሉዋ ላይማታራ ꬋይስድ ይን፥ ሞꬎ ጋታርመንꬆ ሹካዳሳ’ ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But when this son of yours returns from squandering your wealth with prostitutes, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
31. 31GOFE“አዋይካ፥ ‘ታ ናአዉ፥ ኔኒ ኡባ ዎደ ታራ ደኣሳ፥ ታባ ኡባይ ኔሳ።BSBBSB: ‘Son, you are always with me,’ the father said, ‘and all that is mine is yours.
32. 32GOFEሀይስ ነ እሻይ ሀይቅስ፥ ሽን ፓፅስ፤ ꬋይስ፥ ሽን በንትስ። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ዳሮ ኡፋይታናዉ በሴስ’ ያጋና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But it was fitting to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
