1. 1GOFEሄ ዎደ “ፓስካ” ግያ ኡይꬃ ባለይ ማትስ።BSBBSB: Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,
2. 2GOFEካህነ ሀላቃትነ ህገ አስታማረት አሰ ያይያ ግሾ፥ ዋትድ የሱሳ ባንታ ግዶፈ ꬋይሳነኮ ኦገ ኮዮሶና።BSBBSB: and the chief priests and scribes were looking for a way to put Jesus to death, for they feared the people.
3. 3GOFEፃላሄይ ታማነ ናምአታፐ እሱዋ ግድዳ አስቆሮታ ይሁዳ ጌተተይሳ ግዶ ገልስ።BSBBSB: Then Satan entered Judas Iscariot, who was one of the Twelve.
4. 4GOFEይሁድ ካህነ ሀላቃታኮነ ፆሳ ኬꬃ ናገይሳታ ሀላቃታኮ ብድ የሱሳ ዋት አꬅድ እማነኮ ኤንታራ ማቀትስ።BSBBSB: And Judas went to discuss with the chief priests and temple officers how he might betray Jesus to them.
5. 5GOFEኤንትካ ሄሳን ኡፋይትድ ሚሸ እማናዉ እያራ ዞረትዶሶና።BSBBSB: They were delighted and agreed to give him money.
6. 6GOFEእካ ዞረተꬃን ጊግስ። አꬅ ኤንታዉ እማናዉ አስ ባይና እንጀ ዎደ ናግሸ ደኤስ።BSBBSB: Judas consented, and began to look for an opportunity to betray Jesus to them in the absence of a crowd.
7. 7GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ፓስካ ዶርሳይ ሹከትያ ኡይꬃ ባለይ ጋክስ።BSBBSB: Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed.
8. 8GOFEየሱሲ፥ “ፓስካ ካሁዋ ማና መላ ብድ ኑስ ጊግስተ” ያግድ ጰፅሮሳነ ዮሃንሳ ኪትስ።BSBBSB: Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”
9. 9GOFEኤንቲ፥ “ኑ አዉን ጊግሳና መላ ነ ኮያይ” ያግድ ኦይችዶሶና።BSBBSB: “Where do You want us to prepare it?” they asked.
10. 10GOFEእ ኤንታኮ፥ “ሄኮ ህንተ ካታማ ገልሽን ሃꬃ ኦቶ ቶክዳ አደይ ህንተራ ጋሄታና። እ ብድ ገልያ ኬꬃ እያ ካልድ ገልተ።BSBBSB: He answered, “When you enter the city, a man carrying a jug of water will meet you. Follow him to the house he enters,
11. 11GOFEአስታማረይ ጎዳኮ፥ ‘ታ ታ ታማረታራ ዎላ ፓስካ ካሁዋ ማናዉ እማꬃ ኬꬅ አዉኔ? ያግስ’ ጊተ።BSBBSB: and say to the owner of that house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’
12. 12GOFEእ ፖቅያ ቦላ ሂፀትድ ጊግድ ደእያ ዳልጋ ክፍለ ህንተና በሳና፥ ያን ጊግስተ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: And he will show you a large upper room, already furnished. Make preparations there.”
13. 13GOFEኤንቲ ብድ የሱሲ ግዳይሳዳ ሀንን ደምዶሶና። ፓስካ ባኣለ ካሁዋ ያን ጊግስዶሶና።BSBBSB: So they went and found it just as Jesus had told them. And they prepared the Passover.
14. 14GOFEሳተይካ ጋክዳ ዎደ የሱሲ ሀዋረታራ ዎላ ካሁዋ ቦላ ኡትስ።BSBBSB: When the hour had come, Jesus reclined at the table with His apostles.
15. 15GOFEእ ኤንታኮ፥ “ታ ዋየ ኤካናፐ ስን ሀ ካሁዋ ህንተራ ማናዉ ዳሮ አሞታስ።BSBBSB: And He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before My suffering.
16. 16GOFEህዛ፥ ስእተ! ፆሳ ካዎተꬃን ሀይሳስ ብርሸꬃይ ፖለታና ጋካናዉ ሀ ካሁዋ ዛራዳ ሚከ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: For I tell you that I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”
17. 17GOFEኡሻ ኤክድ ጋላት ስሚድ፥ “ሄእተ ሀይሳ ህንተ ግዶን ሻከትተ።BSBBSB: After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves.
18. 18GOFEስእተ! ፆሳ ካዎተꬃይ ያና ጋካናዉ ሀችፈ ዶማዳ ሀ ዎይነ ኡሻፈ ዛራዳ ኡይከ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: For I tell you that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.”
19. 19GOFEኡይꬃ ኤክድ፥ ጋላት ስሚድ፥ “ሀይስ ህንተዉ እመትያ ታ አሹዋ። ሀይሳ ኦꬅሸ ታና ቆፕተ” ያግድ መንꬅድ ኤንታዉ እሚስ።BSBBSB: And He took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
20. 20GOFEሄሳዳካ፥ ካሁዋፐ ጉየ፥ ኡሻ ኤክድ፥ “ሀ ኡሻይ ህንተዉ ጉክዳ ታ ሱꬃን ግድያ ኦራꬃ ጫቁዋ።BSBBSB: In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.
21. 21GOFEግዶሽን፥ ታና አꬅድ እማና ኡራ ኩሸይ ታራ እስፈ ጋይታና።BSBBSB: Look! The hand of My betrayer is with Mine on the table.
22. 22GOFEአሳ ናአይ እያዉ ጌተቶይሳ መላ ሀይቃናዉ ደኤስ፥ ሽን እያ አꬅድ እምያ ኡራ አየ!” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Indeed, the Son of Man will go as it has been determined, but woe to that man who betrays Him.”
23. 23GOFEኤንቲ ባንታ ግዶን፥ “ሀይሳ ኦን ኦꬃኔ” ግድ ዎል ኦይችዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then they began to question among themselves which of them was going to do this.
24. 24GOFEቃስ ኤንታ ግዶን ግታ ግዳናይ ኦነ ግያ ፓላም መትስ።BSBBSB: A dispute also arose among the disciples as to which of them should be considered the greatest.
25. 25GOFEየሱሲ ኤንታኮ፥ “ደርያ ካዎት ባንታ አሳ ዎልቃን ሃሮሶና፤ ባንታ ደርያ ቦላ ጎዳተይሳታስካ ባንታና፥ ‘ሎኦ ኦይሳታ’ ያግድ ፄጎሶና።BSBBSB: So Jesus declared, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in authority over them call themselves benefactors.
26. 26GOFEሽን ህንተ ግዶን ሄሳ መላ ግዶፖ። ህንተ ግዶን ባይራተይ ካሎዳ ሀኖ፤ ካለይስ ካለይሳዳ ሀኖ።BSBBSB: But you shall not be like them. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who leads like the one who serves.
27. 27GOFEሀኖሽን፥ ሞከይሳፈነ ሞከተይሳፈ አዉስ አꬊ? ሞከተይሳ ግደነዬ? ሽን ታኒ ህንተ ግዶን ሞከይሳ መላ።BSBBSB: For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines? But I am among you as one who serves.
28. 28GOFE“ህንተካ ታ መቱዋን ታፐ ሻከቶና ታራ ምንድ ኤቅዳይሳታ።BSBBSB: You are the ones who have stood by Me in My trials.
29. 29GOFEህንተ ታ ጋይታፐ ማና መላ፥ ኡያና መላነ አራታታ ቦላ ኡትድ ታማነ ናምኡ እስራኤለ ሼሻታ ቦላ ፕርዳና መላ ታ አዋይ ታና ሹምዳይሳዳ ታካ ህንተና ታ ካዎተꬃን ሹማና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: And I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father has bestowed one on Me,
30. 31GOFEካልድካ የሱሲ፥ “ስሞና፥ ስሞና፥ ፃላሄይ ህንተና ግስተዳ ሀርቃናዉ ዎስስ።BSBBSB: Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you like wheat.
31. 32GOFEሽን ታኒ ነ አማኖይ ꬋዮና መላ ነዉ ጋናታስ። ነካ ስምዳ ዎደ ነ እሻታ ምንꬃ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
32. 33GOFEስሞን፥ “ጎዳዉ፥ ታኒ ኔራ ቃሸታናዉነ ሀይቃናዉ ጊገታስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “Lord,” said Peter, “I am ready to go with You even to prison and to death.”
33. 34GOFEየሱሲ ጰፅሮሳኮ፥ “ታ ነዉ ኦዳይስ፤ ሀች ኩቶይ ዋሳናፐ ስን ነ ታና ሄꬑ ቶሆ ካዳና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But Jesus replied, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.”
34. 35GOFEካልድካ፥ የሱሲ ኤንታኮ፥ “ታኒ ህንተና ኮሮጆይ፥ ካርፂትነ ጫም ባይና ኪትዳ ዎደ ህንተዉ ፓጭዳባይ ደኢ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። ኤንቲ ዛሪድ፥ “አይኮይካ ፓጭቤና” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you out without purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered.
35. 36GOFEእ ኤንታኮ፥ “ሀእ ኮሮጆይነ ካርፂት ደኤይ ኦይኮ፤ ማሽ ባይናይ ባ አፍላ ባይዝድ ማሻ ሻሞ።BSBBSB: “Now, however,” He told them, “the one with a purse should take it, and likewise a bag; and the one without a sword should sell his cloak and buy one.
36. 37GOFEሃ ስእተ! ‘ጌላታራ ታይበትስ’ ጌተትድ ፃፈትዳይስ ታናን ፖለታናዉ በሴስ። ኤ፥ ታ ግሾ ፃፈትዳባይ ፖለተይስ ቱማትስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about Me is reaching its fulfillment.”
37. 38GOFEእያ ታማረት፥ “ጎዳዉ ሀይሳን ናምኡ ማሻት ደኦሶና” ያግዶሶና። እ፥ “ግዳና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: So they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” “That is enough,” He answered.
38. 39GOFEየሱሲ ካሰ ሜዘትዳይሳዳ ደንድድ ሻማሆ ዙማ ቦላ ከይስ። እያ ታማረት እያ ካልዶሶና።BSBBSB: Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed Him.
39. 40GOFEሄ በሳ ጋክዳ ዎደ፥ “ፓጨን ገሎና መላ ዎስተ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: When He came to the place, He told them, “Pray that you will not enter into temptation.”
40. 41GOFEኤንታፈ ሹች ሆልን ጋክያ ሶ መላ ሃክድ ጉልባትድ ዎስስ።BSBBSB: And He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, where He knelt down and prayed,
41. 42GOFE“ታ አዋዉ፥ ነ ሸነ ግድኮ ሀ መቱዋ ታፐ አꬃ። ሽን ታ ሸነ ግዶፖ ነ ሸነይ ሀኖ” ያግድ ዎስስ።BSBBSB: “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”
42. The angel and the sweat like drops of blood
    43GOFEኪታንቾይ ሳሎፐ ቆንጭድ ምንꬅስ።BSBBSB: Then an angel from heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him.
43. 44GOFEዳሮ ኡንኤትድ ምንድ ዎሴስ። እያ ጫዋይካ ሱꬅ ፆክያዳ ሳአን ፆኬስ።BSBBSB: And in His anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.
44. 45GOFEየሱሲ ዎሳ ዉርስድ ባ ታማረታኮ ይስ። ኤንቲ፥ አዛኖፐ ደንዶይሳን ዳቡርድ ꬍስክዳሽን ደምድ፥BSBBSB: When Jesus rose from prayer and returned to the disciples, He found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow.
45. 46GOFE“አይስ ꬍስከቲ? ፓጨን ገሎና መላ ደንድድ ዎስተ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “Why are you sleeping?” He asked. “Get up and pray so that you will not enter into temptation.”
46. 47GOFEእ ቡሮ ኦዳ ቦላ ደእሽን ዳሮ አሳት ይዶሶና። ታማነ ናምአታፐ እሶይ ይሁዳ ጌተተይስ ኤንታና ካለꬄስ። እ የሱሳ ዬራናዉ ማት ሺቅስ።BSBBSB: While He was still speaking, a crowd arrived, led by the man called Judas, one of the Twelve. He approached Jesus to kiss Him.
47. 48GOFEሽን የሱሲ፥ “ይሁዳ፥ አሳ ናኣ ዬራዳ አꬃ እማኔ?” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
48. 49GOFEየሱሳ ታማረት ሄ ሀኑዋ በእድ፥ “ጎዳዉ ማሻን ሾጭኖ?” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: Those around Jesus saw what was about to happen and said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?”
49. 50GOFEኤንታ ግዶፈ እሶይ ካህነ ሀላቃ ኦሳንቹዋ ሾጭድ ኡሻቻ ሀይꬃ ቃንፅድ የግስ።BSBBSB: And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
50. 51GOFEሽን የሱሲ፥ “አጋ! ድጎፍተ” ያግስ። ኡራ ሀይꬃ ቦችድ ፓꬅስ።BSBBSB: But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And He touched the man’s ear and healed him.
51. 52GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ የሱሲ ባና ኦይካናዉ ይዳ ካህነ ሀላቃታኮ፥ ፆሳ ኬꬃ ናገይሳታ ሹማታኮነ ጭማታኮ፥ “ፓኖ ኦይክያ አሳዳ ማሸነ ፃምአ ኦይክድ ይደቲ?BSBBSB: Then Jesus said to the chief priests, temple officers, and elders who had come for Him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against an outlaw?
52. 53GOFEኡባ ጋላስ ፆሳ ኬꬃን ታ ህንተራ ደእያ ዎደ ታ ቦላ ኩሸ ዎꬅቤከታ። ሽን ሀይስ ꬉማ ካዎተꬃይ ሃርዳ ዎደነ ህንተ ዎደ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on Me. But this hour belongs to you and to the power of darkness.”
53. 54GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ የሱሳ ኦይክድ ካህነ ሀላቃ ዛባ ኤፍዶሶና። ጰፅሮስ ሃሆን የሱሳ ካሌስ።BSBBSB: Then they seized Jesus, led Him away, and took Him into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed at a distance.
54. 55GOFEአሳት ካህነ ሀላቃ ዛባን ታማ ኤꬅድ ዎላ ኡትዳሽን ጰፅሮስ ኤንታራ እስፈ ኡትስ።BSBBSB: When those present had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.
55. 56GOFEእስ ጋꬍንዲያ ጰፅሮስ ታማ ማታን ኡትዳይሳ ጫዳ ፄላዳ፥ “ሀ ኡራይ እያራ ደኤስ” ያጋሱ።BSBBSB: A servant girl saw him seated in the firelight and looked intently at him. “This man also was with Him,” she said.
56. 57GOFEሽን ጰፅሮስ፥ “ሀ ማጫሰተ ታ ሄ ኡራ ኤርከ” ያግድ ካድስ።BSBBSB: But Peter denied it. “Woman, I do not know Him,” he said.
57. 58GOFEጉꬃ ዎደፐ ጉየ እስ ሀራ አደይ እያ በእድ፥ “ነካ ኤንታፈ እሱዋ” ያግስ። ሽን ጰፅሮስ፥ “ሀ አድያዉ ታና ግድከ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: A short time later, someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”
58. 59GOFEእስ ሳተ መላ ጋምእዳፐ ጉየ እስ ሀራ አደይ ትልስድ፥ “ሀ ኡራይ ጋልላፐ ግድያ ግሾ ስይ ባይና እያራ ደኤስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: About an hour later, another man insisted, “Certainly this man was with Him, for he too is a Galilean.”
59. 60GOFEሽን ጰፅሮስ፥ “ሀ አድያዉ፥ ነ ገይሳ ታ ኤርከ” ያግስ። እ ሄ ኦዳ ኦንጎና ደእሽን ኩቶይ ዋስስ።BSBBSB: “Man, I do not know what you are talking about,” Peter replied. And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.
60. 61GOFEጎዳይ ጉየ ስሚድ ጰፅሮሳ ፄልስ። ጰፅሮስ፥ “ሀች ኩቶይ ዋሳናፐ ስን ነ ታና ሄꬑ ቶሆ ካዳና” ያግድ፥ ጎዳይ ኦድዳ ቃላ አኬክስ።BSBBSB: And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word that the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”
61. 62GOFEጰፅሮስ ካረ ከይድ ዳሮ ኮኮርድ ዬክስ።BSBBSB: And he went outside and wept bitterly.
62. 63GOFEየሱሳ ናግያ አሳት እያ ለቅሶነ ደሸꬅ ኦይክዶሶና።BSBBSB: The men who were holding Jesus began to mock Him and beat Him.
63. 64GOFEእያ አይፍያ ጎዝድ “አነ ትንብተ ኦዳ፤ ነና ደችዳይ ኦኔ?” ያግድ ኦይቾሶና።BSBBSB: They blindfolded Him and kept demanding, “Prophesy! Who hit You?”
64. 65GOFEሀራ ዳሮ ጫሸ ጫይድ ካዉሾሶና።BSBBSB: And they said many other blasphemous things against Him.
65. 66GOFEሳእ ዎንትያ ዎደ አይሁደ ቢታ ጭማት፥ ካህነ ሀላቃትነ ህገ አስታማረት ሺቅድ፥ የሱሳ ባንታ ስን ሺሽዶሶና።BSBBSB: At daybreak the council of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and scribes, met together. They led Jesus into their Sanhedrin and said,
66. 67GOFEኤንቲ፥ “ኔኒ ክርስቶሴ? አነ ኑስ ኦዳ?” ያግድ ኦይችዶሶና። የሱሲ፥ “ታ ኦድያኮ አማነከታ።BSBBSB: “If You are the Christ, tell us.” Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe.
67. 68GOFEታ ኦይችያኮ ዛረከታ።BSBBSB: And if I ask you a question, you will not answer.
68. 69GOFEሽን አሳ ናአይ ሀይሳፈ ገደ ባጋን ዎልቃማ ፆሳ ኡሻቻ ባጋን ኡታና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
69. 70GOFEሄ ዎደ ኡባይ፥ “ያትን፥ ኔኒ ፆሳ ናኤ?” ያግዶሶና። እ፥ “ታ ፆሳ ናአ ግደይሳ ህንተ ግደታ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: So they all asked, “Are You then the Son of God?” He replied, “You say that I am.”
70. 71GOFEኤንቲ፥ “ህዛ፥ ሀራ ማርካ አይ ኮሺ? እ ባ እንፃርሳን ኦድሽን ኑ ስእዳ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: “Why do we need any more testimony?” they declared. “We have heard it for ourselves from His own lips.”
