1. 1GOFEሄ በሳን ሺቅዳ ሻንጎት ኡባይ ደንድድ የሱሳ ጵላፆሳኮ ኤፍዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then the whole council rose and led Jesus away to Pilate.
2. 2GOFE“ሀ ኡራይ ኑ አሳ ባለꬅሽን፥ ካዋስ ጊራ ጊሮና መላ ድግሽንነ፥ ቃስ ‘ታኒ ክርስቶሳ ህንተ ካዋ’ ያግሽን ደምዳ” ያግድ ሞትዶሶና።BSBBSB: And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding payment of taxes to Caesar, and proclaiming Himself to be Christ, a King.”
3. 3GOFEጵላፆስ የሱሳ፥ “ኔኒ አይሁደታ ካዎ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። የሱሲ፥ “ኤ፥ ነ ግዳይሳ መላ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: So Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
4. 4GOFEጵላፆስ ካህነ ሀላቃታኮነ አሳኮ፥ “ሀ ኡራ ቦላ ታኒ እስ ባላካ ደማብከ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
5. 5GOFEሽን ኤንቲ፥ “ሀ ኡራይ ጋልላፐ ዶምድ ሀይሳ ጋካናዉ ይሁዳ ኩመꬃ ኢታባስ ደንꬄስ” ያግድ ምንꬅ ኦድዶሶና።BSBBSB: But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people all over Judea with His teaching. He began in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
6. 6GOFEጵላፆስ ሄሳ ስእዳ ዎደ የሱሲ ጋልላ አሴኮ ኤራናዉ ኮይድ እያ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: When Pilate heard this, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
7. 7GOFEየሱሲ ሄሮዲሳ ቢታፈ ይዳ አስ ግደይሳ ጵላፆስ ኤርዳ ዎደ ሄሮዲስ ሄ ዎደ የሩሳላመን ደእያ ግሾ እያኮ የድስ።BSBBSB: And learning that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself was in Jerusalem at that time.
8. 8GOFEሄሮዲስ የሱሳ በአናዉ ዳሮ ዎደፐ ኮይሸ ደእያ ግሾ፥ እያ በእዳ ዎደ ዳሮ ኡፋይትስ። አይስ ጊኮ፥ እያባ ስእዳ ግሾ ማላልስያባ ኦꬅን በአናዉ አሞትሸ ደኤስ።BSBBSB: When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased. He had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had heard about Him and was hoping to see Him perform a miracle.
9. 9GOFEሄሮዲስ የሱሳ ዳሮ ኦይሾታ ኦይችስ፥ ሽን እ አይኮካ ዛርቤና።BSBBSB: Herod questioned Jesus at great length, but He gave no answer.
10. 10GOFEካህነታ ሀላቃትነ ህገ አስታማረት ያን ኤቅድ ምንꬅድ እያ ሞቶሶና።BSBBSB: Meanwhile, the chief priests and scribes stood there, vehemently accusing Him.
11. 11GOFEሄሮዲሳራነ እያ ዎታዳረታራ የሱሳ ካꬍዶሶናነ ለቅስዶሶና። ቦንቾ አፍላ ማይዝድ ጵላፆሳኮ ዛሪድ የድዶሶና።BSBBSB: And even Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him. Dressing Him in a fine robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.
12. 12GOFEሄሮዲሳራነ ጵላፆሳራ ካሰ ሞርከሽን ሄ ጋላስ ዎላ ጊግዶሶና።BSBBSB: That day Herod and Pilate became friends; before this time they had been enemies.
13. 13GOFEጵላፆስ ካህነ ሀላቃታ፥ አሳ ሃረይሳታነ አሳ ፄግድ፥BSBBSB: Then Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people,
14. 14GOFE“ ‘ሀ ኡራይ አሳ ጌላተꬃስ ደንꬄስ’ ግድ ታኮ ኤህደታ። ታካ ህንተ ስንꬃን ፕልጋዳ ህንተ ሺሽዳ ሞቱዋስ አይብ ባላካ ደማብከ።BSBBSB: and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined Him here in your presence and found Him not guilty of your charges against Him.
15. 15GOFEሄሮዲስ፥ ሄሳꬆ አይብ ባላካ እያ ቦላ ደምቦና ግሾ ኑኮ የድስ። ቱማካ ሀ ኡራይ ሀይቆስ ጋꬅያ አይብ ባላካ ኦꬅቤና።BSBBSB: Neither has Herod, for he sent Him back to us. As you can see, He has done nothing deserving of death.
16. 16GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ እያ ጋራፋዳ ብላ የዳና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Therefore I will punish Him and release Him.”
17. 17GOFEሄሳ እ ግዳይ ፓስካ ባኣለ ዎደ እስ አስ ኤንታዉ ብላናይስ እያዉ አቶናባ ግድያ ግሾሳ።BSBBSB: Not in the BSB

18. 18GOFEደረይ ኡባይ እስ ቦላ፥ “ሀ ኡራ ገደ ድጋ፥ ኑስ ባርባና ብላ” ያግድ ዋስዶሶና።BSBBSB: But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”
19. 19GOFEባርባን ካታማ ግዶን አሳ ኢታባስ ደንꬅድ አሰ ዎꬍድ ቃሸትዳ አስ።BSBBSB: (Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
20. 20GOFEጵላፆስ የሱሳ ብላናዉ ኮይድ አሳስ ዛር ኦድስ።BSBBSB: Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate addressed them again,
21. 21GOFEግዶሽን፥ አሳይ፥ “ካቃ! ካቃ!” ያግድ ዋስዶሶና።BSBBSB: but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”
22. 22GOFEጵላፆስ ሄꬓንꬆ፥ “ሀ ኡራይ ቆህዳባይ አይቤ? ዎꬎስ ጋꬅያ ባላ ታ ደማብከ። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ጋራፋዳ የዳ አጋና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: A third time he said to them, “What evil has this man done? I have found in Him no offense worthy of death. So after I punish Him, I will release Him.”
23. 23GOFEኤንቲ ባንታ ቃላ ꬎቁ ኦꬅድ፥ “ካቀታናዉ በሴስ” ግድ ምንꬅ ዋስዶሶና። ኤንታ ዋሶይካ ፆንስ።BSBBSB: But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices for Jesus to be crucified. And their clamor prevailed.
24. 24GOFEኤንታ ኦይሻ ግሾ፥ ግድ ጵላፆስ እያ ቦላ ፕርድስ።BSBBSB: So Pilate sentenced that their demand be met.
25. 25GOFEአሰ ኢታባስ ደንꬅዳይሳነ አሰ ዎꬍድ ቃሸትዳይሳ ብላና መላ ዎስዳ ግሾ ሄ ኡራ ኤንታዉ ብልስ። ሽን የሱሳ ኤንቲ ኮይዳባ ኦꬃና መላ ኤንታዉ አꬅድ እሚስ።BSBBSB: As they had requested, he released the one imprisoned for insurrection and murder, and he handed Jesus over to their will.
26. 26GOFEየሱሳ ኦይክድ ኤፍሽን ስሞና ጌተትያ ቀሬና ቢታ አደይ ጋፃረፐ ይሽን፥ ደምድ ማስቃልያ ቶስድ የሱሳ ካልድ ባና መላ ኡንኤꬅዶሶና።BSBBSB: As the soldiers led Him away, they seized Simon of Cyrene on his way in from the country, and they put the cross on him to carry behind Jesus.
27. 27GOFEዳሮ አሳይነ ባንታ ትራ እጭሸ ዬክያ ማጫሳት እያ ጉየራ ካሎሶና።BSBBSB: A great number of people followed Him, including women who kept mourning and wailing for Him.
28. 28GOFEሽን የሱሲ ኤንታኮ ጉየ ስሚድ፥ “ህንተኖ፥ የሩሳላመ ማጫሳቶ፥ ህንተ ሁጰስነ ህንተ ናይታስ ዬክተፐ አትሽን፥ ታዉ ዬኮፍተ።BSBBSB: But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
29. 29GOFE‘ሄኮ ማይንꬃት፥ የሎና ኡሎትነ ꬋንꬆና ꬋንꬃት አንጀትዶሶና’ ህንተ ያጋና ጋላሳይ ያና።BSBBSB: Look, the days are coming when people will say, ‘Blessed are the barren women, the wombs that never bore, and breasts that never nursed!’
30. 30GOFEሄ ዎደ ደረታ፥ ‘ኑ ቦላ ኩንድተ’፥ ዙማታካ፥ ‘ኑና ካምተ’ ያጋና።BSBBSB: At that time ‘they will say to the mountains, “Fall on us!” and to the hills, “Cover us!”’
31. 31GOFEህዛ፥ ቃየ ምꬃ ሄሳꬆ ኦꬅኮ መላ ምꬃ ዋታንደሻ?” ያግስ።BSBBSB: For if men do these things while the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”
32. 32GOFEእያራ ዎꬋናዉ ሀራ ናምኡ ዎራንꬖታ ኤፍዶሶና።BSBBSB: Two others, who were criminals, were also led away to be executed with Jesus.
33. 33GOFEቀራንዮ ጌተትያ በሳ ጋꬅድ ካቅዶሶና። ዎራንꬖታፐ እሱዋ ኡሻቻ ባጋራ ሀንኩዋ ሀድርሳ ባጋራ ካቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left.
34. “Father, forgive them”
    34GOFEየሱሲ፥ “ታ አዋዉ፥ ኤንቲ አይ ኦꬅያኮ ኤሮና ግሾ፥ ኔኒ ኤንታዉ አቶ ያጋ” ያግስ። ኤንቲ እያ አፍላ ቦላ ሳማ የግድ ሻከትድ ኤክዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.
35. 35GOFEአሳይ ኤቅድ ፄሎሶና፥ ሽን ደርያ ሃረይሳት፥ “ሀራታ አሽስ፤ ፆሳይ ዶርዳ ክርስቶስ እያ ግድኮ አነ ባና አሾ” ያግድ ለቅስዶሶና።BSBBSB: The people stood watching, and the rulers sneered at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.”
36. 36GOFEዎታዳረት እያኮ ሺቅድ፥ ጫላ ዎይነ ኡሻ እምዶሶና።BSBBSB: The soldiers also mocked Him and came up to offer Him sour wine.
37. 37GOFEያትድ፥ “ኔኒ አይሁደታ ካዎ ግድኮ ነ ሁጵያ አሻ” ያግድ ለቅስዶሶና።BSBBSB: “If You are the King of the Jews,” they said, “save Yourself!”
38. 38GOFEእያዉ ሁጰ ባጋራ፥ “ሀይስ አይሁደታ ካዎ” ግያ ፁፈይ ደኤስ።BSBBSB: Above Him was posted an inscription: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39. 39GOFEካቀትዳ ዎራንꬖታፐ እሶይ ጫሸ ሳአራ ጎችሸ፥ “አነ ኔኒ ክርስቶሳ ግድኮ፥ ነናካ ኑናካ አሻ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: One of the criminals who hung there heaped abuse on Him. “Are You not the Christ?” he said. “Save Yourself and us!”
40. 40GOFEሽን ሀንኮ ዎራንꬖይ፥ “ኔኒ ሀይሳ መላ ፕርዳን ደአሸ ሀር አቶሽን፥ ፆሳስ ያይኪ?BSBBSB: But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same judgment?
41. 41GOFEኑኒ ኑ ኦꬅዳ ናጋራ ግሾ በሲያ ፕርዳ ኤኮስ፥ ሽን ሀ ኡራይ እስ ኢታባ ኦꬅቤና” ያግድ ሀንቀትስ።BSBBSB: We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42. 42GOFEቃስካ፥ “የሱሳ፥ ነ ነ ካዎተꬃራ ያ ዎደ ታና ቆፓ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”
43. 43GOFEየሱሲ፥ “ታ ነዉ ቱማ ኦዳይስ፤ ሀች ኔኒ ታራ ጋናተን ግዳና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
44. 44GOFEሄ ጋላስ ኡሱፑን ሳተፐ ብድ ኡዱፉን ሳተ ጋካናዉ አዋይ ፖኡዋ ድግዳ ግሾ፥ ቢታ ኡባ ቦላ ꬉማ ግድስ። ፆሳ ኬꬃ ማጋራጆይ ዳከትድ ናምአን ሻከትስ።BSBBSB: It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over all the land until the ninth hour.
45. 46GOFEየሱሲ፥ ቃላ ꬎቁ ኦꬅድ፥ “ታ አዋዉ፥ ታ ታ ሸምፕዉ ነ ኩሸን ሼꬋይስ” ያግድ ሀይቅስ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” And when He had said this, He breathed His last.
46. 47GOFEማቶ ሀላቃይ፥ ሀንዳይሳ በእድ፥ “ሀይስ ኡራይ ቱማካ ፅሎ” ያግድ ፆሳ ጋላትስ።BSBBSB: When the centurion saw what had happened, he gave glory to God, saying, “Surely this was a righteous man.”
47. 48GOFEሀ ሀንያባ በአናዉ ሄ በሳ ሺቅዳ አሳ ኡባይ ሀንዳባ በእዳ ዎደ ባንታ ትራ እጭሸ ባንታ ሶ ስምዶሶና።BSBBSB: And when all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened, they returned home beating their breasts.
48. 49GOFEግዶሽን፥ የሱሳ ማታን ኤርያ አሳ ኡባይ፥ ሄሳዳካ ጋልላፐ ካልድ ይዳ ማጫሳት ሄሳ በእሸ ሃሆን ኤቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: But all those who knew Jesus, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance watching these things.
49. 50GOFEአይሁደ ሻንጎታፐ እሶይ፥ ዮሰፋ ጌተትያ ኡራይ ደኤስ። እ አርማተ ጌተትያ ይሁዳ ካታማፐ ይስ። እ ሎኦነ ፅሎ አስ ግድያ ግሾ ፆሳ ካዎተꬃ ዩሳ ናጌስ። ሻንጎታፐ እሱዋ ግድሸ ኤንታ ዞረተꬃንነ ኦሱዋን ዴና።BSBBSB: Now there was a Council member named Joseph, a good and righteous man,
50. 52GOFEሄ ኡራይ ጵላፆሳኮ ብድ፥ የሱሳ አሀ ሞጋናዉ ታዉ እማ ግድ ዎስስ።BSBBSB: He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
51. 53GOFEጵላፆስ ኤካ ያግን፥ የሱሳ አሀ ዎꬍስድ አፍላራ ፃፅስ። ዛላፈ ዎጭድ ከስዳ ሀራ አስ ሞገቶና ኦራꬃ ዱፎን ዎꬅስ።BSBBSB: Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and placed it in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had yet been laid.
52. 54GOFEሳምባት ገላና ሀንያ ግሾ፥ ሄ ጋላሳይ ጊገተꬃ ቃማ።BSBBSB: It was Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was beginning.
53. 55GOFEጋልላፐ ደንድድ የሱሳ ካልድ ይዳ ማጫሳት ዮሰፋራ ብድ እያ አሀ ዋት ሞግያኮ ዱፉዋ አኬክድ በእዶሶና።BSBBSB: The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how His body was placed.
54. 56GOFEያፐ ስሚድ ሽቶነ ቅባተ ጊግስዶሶና። ህገይ ኪተይሳ መላ ሳምባታ ጋላስ ሸምፕ ፔእዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then they returned to prepare spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
