1ሳምንታፈ ኮይሮ ጋላስ፥ ዎጋ ዎደ ዎንታ ዳሮ ጉራ፥ ማጫሳት ባንታ ጊግስዳ ሽቱዋ ኤክድ ዱፉዋ ብዶሶና።On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared.

2ኤንቲ ያ ጋክያ ዎደ ዱፉዋ ዶናን ደእያ ሹቻይ ጎንደረትድ ክቾይሳ ደምዶሶና።They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

3ኤንቲ ዱፉዋ ጋꬅ ገልዶሶና፥ ሽን ጎዳ የሱሳ አሀ ደምቦኮና።but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4ኤንቲ ያን ኤቅድ አይብ ሀንደ ግድ ቆፕሽን አኬኮና ዳሮ ጶልያ አፍላ ማእዳ ናምኡ አሳት ኤንታ ማታን ኤቅዶሶና።While they were puzzling over this, suddenly two men in radiant apparel stood beside them.

5ማጫሳት ያሸትድ ባንታ ሁጵያ ሳአን ዝቅ ኦꬅድ ደእሽን፥ አሳት ኤንታኮ፥ “ደኦን ደኤይሳ ሀይቆታ ግዶን አይስ ኮዬቲ?As the women bowed their faces to the ground in terror, the two men asked them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

6እ ሀይሳን ዴና፤ ሀይቆፐ ደንድስ፥ ‘አሳ ናአይ ናጋራንቾታ ኩሸን አꬍድ እመታና፤ ኤንትካ እያ ካቃና። እ ሄꬓንꬆ ቃማን ሀይቆፐ ደንዳና’ ያግድ፥ እ ህንተራ ጋልላን ደእሸ ህንተዉ ኦድዳ ቃላ ቆፕተ” ያግስ።He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee:

8ማጫሳት ሄ ዎደ እያ ቃላ ቆፕዶሶና።Then they remembered His words.

9ማጫሳት ዱፉዋፐ ስሚድ ሀንዳባ ኡባ ታማነ እሶታስነ ሀራታስካ ኦድዶሶና።And when they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the Eleven and to all the others.

10ሄሳ ሀዋረታስ ኦድዳይ ማግደላ ማይራሞ፥ ዮሃና፥ ያይቆባ አይዉ ማይራሞነ ኤንታራ ደእያ ሀራ ማጫሳታ።It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.

11ሽን ኤንታዉ ማጫሳት ኦድዳይስ ኤልሞ ዳንን አማንቦኮና።But their words seemed like nonsense to them, and they did not believe the women.

12ሽን ጰፅሮስ ደንድ ዎፅድ ዱፎ ብስ። ሄ በሳ ጋክድ፥ ሆክድ ጋꬅ ፄልያ ዎደ ሞጎ አፍላ ፃላላ በእስ። ሀንዳባን ማላለትሸ ባ ሶ ስምስ።Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. And after bending down and seeing only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

13ሄ ጋላስ ካልያ ታማረታፐ ናምአት የሩሳላመፐ ታማነ እስ ክሎ ምትረ ሃክያ ኤማሆሰ ጉታ ቦሶና።That same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.

14ኤንቲ ዎላ ሀንዳባ ኡባ ኦደቶሶና።They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.

15ኤንቲ ሄ ሀኖታባ ቆፕሸነ ኦደትሸ ብያ ዎደ የሱሲ ባ ሁጰን ሺቅድ ኤንታራ ቤስ።And as they talked and deliberated, Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them.

16ሀኖሽን፥ ኤንቲ እያ ኤሮና መላ ኤንታ አይፈይ ኦይከትስ።But their eyes were kept from recognizing Him.

17እ፥ “ህንተ ዎላ ኦገ ቦላ ደእሸ ኦደተይስ አይቤ?” ያግስ። ኤንቲ አዛንድ ስእ ግድ ኤቅዶሶና።He asked them, “What are you discussing so intently as you walk along?” They stood still, with sadness on their faces.

18ኤንታፈ እሶይ ቀልዮጰ ጌተተይስ፥ “ሀ ቃማታ ግዶን የሩሳላመን ሀንዳባ ኤሮናይስ፥ ነ ቢታስ እማዬ?” ያግስ።One of them, named Cleopas, asked Him, “Are You the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in recent days?”

19እ ዛሪድ፥ “እ ሀንዳይስ አይቤ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። ኤንቲ፥ “ፆሳ ስንꬃንነ አሳ ስንꬃን ኦሶንነ ኦዳን ምኖ ናበ ግድዳ ናዝረተ የሱሳባ።“What things?” He asked. “The events involving Jesus of Nazareth,” they answered. “This man was a prophet, powerful in speech and action before God and all the people.

20እያ ካህነ ሀላቃትነ ሃረይሳት ሀይቆ ፕርዳስ አꬅ እምድ፥ ካቅዶሶና።Our chief priests and rulers delivered Him up to the sentence of death, and they crucified Him.

21ኑኒ እስራኤለ አሳ ዎዛንደ ግድ ኡፋይትድ ናግዳሽን ሀይስ ሀንን ሀች ሄꬓንꬆ ቃማ።But we were hoping He was the One who would redeem Israel. And besides all this, it is the third day since these things took place.

22ቃስ ኑ ግዶፈ እስ እስ ማጫሳት ኑና ማላልስዶሶና። ኤንቲ ሀች ዎንታ ጉራ ዱፉዋ ብዶሶና።Furthermore, some of our women astounded us. They were at the tomb early this morning,

23እያ አሀ ꬋይዳ ዎደ ስም ይድ፥ ‘እ ፓፃ ደኤስ’ ግያ ኪታንቾት ቆንጭን በእዳ ያግድ ኦድዶሶና።but they did not find His body. They came and told us they had seen a vision of angels, who said that Jesus was alive.

24ኑ ግዶፈካ እሶት እሶት ዱፉዋ ብድ ማጫሳት ኦድዳይሳꬆ ሀንን በእዶሶና፥ ሽን እያ በእቦኮና” ያግስ።Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had described. But Him they did not see.”

25እ ኤንታኮ፥ “ህንተኖ፥ አኬኮና አሳቶ፥ ህንተ ዎዛናይ ናበት ኦድዳባ ኡባ አማናናዉ ጋምኤይሳቶ፥Then Jesus said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

26ክርስቶስ ሀ መቱዋ ኤካናዉነ ባ ቦንቹዋን ገላናዉ በሰኔ?” ያግስ።Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and then to enter His glory?”

27ሙሰፐነ ናበታ ኡባፈ ደንድድ ጌሻ ማፃፋን እያባይ ፃፈትዳይሳ ኡባ ኤንታዉ ቆንጭስስ።And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself.

28ኤንቲ ብያ ጉታኮ ማታትዳ ዎደ የሱሲ አꬍድ ሃሆ ሶ ብያ ዳንን፥As they approached the village where they were headed, He seemed to be going farther.

29ኤንቲ፥ “ሳአይ ቃምዳ ግሾ ኑራ አቃ” ያግድ ምንꬅድ ዎስዶሶና። ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ኤንታራ አቃናዉ ገልስ።But they pleaded with Him, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.” So He went in to stay with them.

30ኤንታራ እስፈ ጋይታ ቦላ ኡትድ፥ ኡይꬃ ደንꬅድ፥ መንꬅድ፥ አንጅድ ኤንታዉ እሚስ።While He was reclining at the table with them, He took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to them.

31ሄ ዎደ ኤንቲ ኤራና መላ ኤንታ አይፈይ ዶየትስ። ኤንትካ ኤርዶሶና። ሽን እ ኤንታፈ ጌምስ።Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Jesus—and He disappeared from their sight.

32ኤንቲ፥ “ኑ ኦግያ ቦላ ደእሽን እ ኑስ ጌሻ ማፃፋ ብርሽሽንነ ኑና ኦድስሽን፥ ኑ ዎዛናይ ፁገትቤኔ?” ያግዶሶና።They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

33ሄ ዎደ ደንድድ ጉየ የሩሳላመ ይዶሶና። ታማነ እሶትነ ሀራት እስ ቦላ ሺቅድ ደእሽን ደምዶሶና።And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, gathered together

34ኤንቲ፥ “ጎዳይ ቱማ ደንድስ፤ ስሞናስ ቆንጭስ” ያግዶሶና።and saying, “The Lord has indeed risen and has appeared to Simon!”

35ሄ ናምኡ ታማረት ኤማሁሰ ኦግያ ቦላ ደእሽን ሀንዳይሳነ ኡይꬃ መንꬅዳ ዎደ ዋት እያ ኤርዳኮ ኤንታዉ ኦድዶሶና።Then the two told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.

36ናምኡ ታማረት ሄሳ ኦዳ ቦላ ደእሽን፥ የሱሲ ኤንታ ግዶን ኤቅድ፥ “ሳሮይ ህንተዉ ግዶ” ያግስ።While they were describing these events, Jesus Himself stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”

37ግዶሽን፥ ኤንቲ ዳጋምድ፥ ሞይትለ በእዳ ዳንን ያይዶሶና።But they were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a spirit.

38እ ኤንታኮ፥ “አይስ ባብደቲ? አይስ ስይ ህንተ ዎዛናን ገልዴ?“Why are you troubled,” Jesus asked, “and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39ታ ኩሽያነ ታ ቶሁዋ በእተ፤ ታኒ ታና። ቃስ ኦይክድ በእተ፤ ታናን ህንተ በኤይሳዳ፥ ሞይትለስ አሾይነ መቀꬅ ባዋ” ያግስ።Look at My hands and My feet. It is I Myself. Touch Me and see—for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

40ያግድ፥ ባ ቶሁዋነ ባ ኩሽያ ኤንታ በስስ።And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

41ኤንቲ ኡፋይሳፈ ደንዶይሳን አማኖና ማላለተꬃን ደእሽን፥ የሱሲ ኤንታኮ፥ “ሀይሳን ህንተዉ ምያባይ ደኢ?” ያግስ።While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

42ኤንቲ እስ ጫጨትዳ ሞሎ እያዉ እምዶሶና።So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish,

43እ ኤክድ ኤንታ ስንꬃን ምስ።and He took it and ate it in front of them.

44እ፥ “ታ ህንተራ ጋምእዳ ዎደ ኡባን ሙሰ ማፃፋታን፥ ናበታ ማፃፋታንነ ማዝሙረ ማፃፋታን፥ ታ ግሾ ፃፈትዳባይ ኡባይ ፖለታናዉ በሴስ ያጋዳ ታ ህንተዉ ኦድዳ ቃላይ ሀይሳ” ያግስ።Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.”

45ሄ ዎደ ጌሻ ማፃፋታ አኬካና መላ ኤንታ ዎዛና ዶይስ።Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

46ሄሳዳካ፥ “ክርስቶስ ዋየ ኤካና፥ ሄꬓንꬆ ቃማን ሀይቆፐ ደንዳና ያግድ ፃፈትስ።And He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

47የሩሳላመፐ ደንድድ አሳ ኡባስ ናጋራፐ ማሮተꬃይነ አቶተꬃይ እያ ሱንꬃን ማርካታና።and in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

48ህንተ ሄሳስ ማርካታ።You are witnesses of these things.

49ሄኮ፥ ታካ ታ አዋይ እምዳ ኡፋይሳ ህንተዉ የዳና። ህንተ ሳሎፐ ዎልቃ ማአና ጋካናዉ የሩሳላመ ካታማን ጋምእተ” ያግስ።And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

50ሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ብታነ ካታማ ኤንታና ኤክድ ብስ። ባ ኩሽያ ደንꬅድ አንጅስ።When Jesus had led them out as far as Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

51ኤንታና አንጅሸ ኤንታፈ ሻከትድ ፑደ ሳሎ ኤከትስ።While He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.

52ኤንቲ ዝግ ጎይንድ ዳሮ ኡፋይሳን የሩሳላመ ስምዶሶና።And they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

53ፆሳ ኡባ ዎደ ጋላትሸ ፆሳ ኬꬃን ጋምእዶሶና።praising God continually in the temple.
