1. 1GOFEዎንታ ጉራ ኤለስድ ካህነ ሀላቃት፥ ጭማት፥ ህገ አስታማረትነ አይሁደ ሻንጎት ኡባይ ሺቅድ ማቀትዶሶና። ኤንቲ የሱሳ ቃች ኤፍድ ጵላፆሳስ አꬅድ እምዶሶና።BSBBSB: Early in the morning, the chief priests, elders, scribes, and the whole Sanhedrin devised a plan. They bound Jesus, led Him away, and handed Him over to Pilate.
2. 2GOFEጵላፆስ እያኮ፥ “ኔኒ አይሁደ ካዎ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። የሱሲ ዛሪድ፥ “ነ ጋዳሳ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: So Pilate questioned Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
3. 3GOFEካህነ ሀላቃት የሱሳ ዳሮባን ሞትዶሶና።BSBBSB: And the chief priests began to accuse Him of many things.
4. 4GOFEሽን ጵላፆስ ዛሪድ የሱሳኮ፥ “ነዉ ዛርያባይ ባዌ? ኤንቲ ነ ቦላ አይ መላ ሞቱዋ ኤህያኮ በእኪ?” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Then Pilate questioned Him again, “Have You no answer? Look how many charges they are bringing against You!”
5. 5GOFEሽን የሱሲ ሀራባ ዛሮና እፅን፥ ጵላፆስ ማላለትስ።BSBBSB: But to Pilate’s amazement, Jesus made no further reply.
6. 6GOFEጵላፆሳስ ፓስካ ባኣለ ቦንችያ ጋላሳን አሳይ ኮያ እስ አስ ቃሾፐ ብልያ ሜዘይ ደኤስ።BSBBSB: Now it was Pilate’s custom at the feast to release to the people a prisoner of their choosing.
7. 7GOFEሄ ዎደ እስ ባርባና ጌተትያ ኡራይ ኦሹ ከስድ ሸምፖ ዎꬍዳ አሳራ እስፈ ቃሾ ኬꬃን ደኤስ።BSBBSB: And a man named Barabbas was imprisoned with the rebels who had committed murder during the insurrection.
8. 8GOFEሺቅዳ ዳሮ አሳይ ጵላፆስ ካሰይሳዳ ኦꬃና መላ እያ ኦይችዶሶና።BSBBSB: So the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to keep his custom.
9. 9GOFEጵላፆስ አሳ ዛሪድ፥ “ታኒ ህንተዉ አይሁደታ ካዋ ብላናይሳ ኮዬቲ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” Pilate asked.
10. 10GOFEሄሳ እ ግዳይ፥ ካህነ ሀላቃት የሱሳ ቃናትድ አꬅድ እምዳይሳ ኤርያ ግሾሳ።BSBBSB: For he knew it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over.
11. 11GOFEሽን ካህነ ሀላቃት የሱሳ ግሾ ባርባና ብላናዳ፥ ሄ ሺቅዳ አሳይ ጵላፆሳ ዎሳና መላ አሳ ማቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release Barabbas to them instead.
12. 12GOFEጵላፆስ ዛሪድ፥ “ያትን፥ ሀ ህንተ አይሁደ ካዎ ገይሳ ዋቶ?” ያግስ።BSBBSB: So Pilate asked them again, “What then do you want me to do with the One you call the King of the Jews?”
13. 13GOFEአሳይ ጵላፆሳ ቦላ ዋስድ፥ “ማስቃለ ቦላ እያ ካቃ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: And they shouted back, “Crucify Him!”
14. 14GOFEጵላፆስ፥ “አይስ? እ አይ ኢታባ ኦꬅዴ?” ያግስ። ሽን አሳይ ካሰይሳፈ ጉጅ ዋስድ፥ “ማስቃለ ቦላ እያ ካቃ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: “Why?” asked Pilate. “What evil has He done?” But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”
15. 15GOFEጵላፆስ አሳ ኡፋይሳናዉ ኮይድ፥ ባርባና አሳስ ብልስ፤ ያትድ ልሶን የሱሳ ጋራፍድ፥ ማስቃልያ ቦላ ካቃና መላ ኤንታዉ አꬅድ እሚስ።BSBBSB: And wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified.
16. 16GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ዎታዳረት የሱሳ ደርያ ሃረይሳ ኦሶ ኬꬅ ኤፍድ፥ ሀራ ዎታዳረታ ኡባ እስፈ ፄግዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then the soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and called the whole company together.
17. 17GOFEቃስ ዞኦ አፍላ እያ ማይዝዶሶና፤ አጉንꬃ ካላቻ ጊግስድ፥ እያ ሁጰን ዎꬅዶሶና።BSBBSB: They dressed Him in a purple robe, twisted together a crown of thorns, and set it on His head.
18. 18GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ እያኮ፥ “አይሁደታ ካዋዉ መርናዉ ካዎታ” ያግድ፥ እያዉ ዝግዶሶና።BSBBSB: And they began to salute Him: “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19. 19GOFEእያ ሁጵያ ፃምአን ሾጭዶሶና፤ ቃስ እያ ቦላ ጩትዶሶና፤ ጉልባትድ እያዉ ጎይንዶሶና።BSBBSB: They kept striking His head with a staff and spitting on Him. And they knelt down and bowed before Him.
20. 20GOFEእያ ቶችዳፐ ጉየ ዞኦ አፍላ እያፐ ቃር ኤክድ፥ እያ አፍላ እያ ማይዝድ ማስቃለ ቦላ እያ ካቃናዉ ኤፍዶሶና።BSBBSB: After they had mocked Him, they removed the purple robe and put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him out to crucify Him.
21. 21GOFEኤንቲ ብሸ፥ እስክንድረነ ሩፎሳ አዋ፥ ስሞና ጌተትያ ቀሬና ቢታ አስ፥ ጋፃረፐ ካታማ የይሳራ ጋሄትድ፥ የሱሳ ማስቃልያ ዎልቃን ቶስዶሶና።BSBBSB: Now Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing by on his way in from the country, and the soldiers forced him to carry the cross of Jesus.
22. 22GOFEያትድ ጎልጎታ ጌተትያ በሳ የሱሳ ኤፍዶሶና። “ጎልጎታ” ጉሳይ “ሁጰ ጉገ” ጉሱ።BSBBSB: They brought Jesus to a place called Golgotha, which means The Place of the Skull.
23. 23GOFEሳኮይ ስኤቶና መላ ካርበራ ዋላከትዳ ዎይነ ኡዮ ግድ እያዉ እምዶሶና፤ ሽን እ ኡዮና እፅስ።BSBBSB: There they offered Him wine mixed with myrrh, but He did not take it.
24. 24GOFEኤንቲ ማስቃለ ቦላ እያ ካቅዶሶና። ኦና አይብ ጋካኔኮ ግድ እያ አፍላ ሻክድ ሳማ የግዶሶና።BSBBSB: And they crucified Him. They also divided His garments by casting lots to decide what each of them would take.
25. 25GOFEኤንቲ ማስቃለ ቦላ እያ ካቅያ ዎደ ዎንታፈ ሄꬑ ሳተ።BSBBSB: It was the third hour when they crucified Him.
26. 26GOFEኤንቲ፥ “አይሁደ ካዋ” ያግድ እያ ሞትያ ፁፈ ፃፍድ ዎꬅዶሶና።BSBBSB: And the charge inscribed against Him read: THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27. 27GOFEየሱሳራ ናምኡ ፓንጋታ እሱዋ እያፐ ኡሻቻ ባጋራ ሀንኩዋ እያፐ ሀድርሳ ባጋራ ማስቃለ ቦላ ካቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: Along with Jesus, they crucified two robbers, one on His right and one on His left.
28. 28GOFEጌሻ ማፃፋይ፥ “ኢታባ ኦꬅዳ አሳታራ እ ፓይደትስ” ጌተትዳይስ ፖለትስ።BSBBSB: Not in the BSB

29. 29GOFEኦገራ አꬍያ አሳይ የሱሳ ካꬍድ፥ ባንታ ሁጵያ ቃꬅድ ጫይዶሶና፤ “ሄኮ! ፆሳ ኬꬃ ላላዳ ሄꬑ ጋላሳ ግዶን ኬፀይሶ፥ ነ ሁጵያ አሻ፤BSBBSB: And those who passed by heaped abuse on Him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,
30. 30GOFEአነ ማስቃልያ ቦላፈ ዎꬋ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: come down from the cross and save Yourself!”
31. 31GOFEሄሳዳካ፥ ካህነ ሀላቃት ህግያ ታማርሰይሳታራ እስፈ የሱሳ ቶችድ፥ “ሀራታ አሽስ፥ ሽን ባና አሻናዉ ዳንዳኤና፤BSBBSB: In the same way, the chief priests and scribes mocked Him among themselves, saying, “He saved others, but He cannot save Himself!
32. 32GOFEኑኒ በእድ አማናና መላ ክርስቶስ፥ እስራኤለ ካዎይ፥ አነ ማስቃለ ቦላፈ ሀእ ዎꬎ” ያግዶሶና። ቃስ ሀር አቶሽን፥ እያራ ማስቃለ ቦላ ካቀትዳይሳትካ እያ ቶችዶሶና።BSBBSB: Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” And even those who were crucified with Him berated Him.
33. 33GOFEኡሱፑን ሳተፐ ዶምድ፥ ኡዱፉን ሳተ ጋካናዉ ቢታ ኡባይ ꬉምስ።BSBBSB: From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
34. 34GOFEኡዱፉን ሳተን የሱሲ፥ “ኤሎሄ፥ ኤሎሄ፥ ላማ ሳባቅታኒ?” ያግድ ዋስስ። ሄሳ ጉሳይ፥ “ታ ፆሳዉ፥ ታ ፆሳዉ፥ ታና አይስ አጋዲ?” ጉሱ።BSBBSB: At the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
35. 35GOFEሄሳን ኤቅዳ አሳፐ እሶይ እሶይ ሄሳ ስእድ፥ “ሄኮ፥ ኤልያሳ ፄጌስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: When some of those standing nearby heard this, they said, “Behold, He is calling Elijah.”
36. 36GOFEሄ አሳፐ እሶይ ዎፅድ፥ እስፖንጀን ጫላ ዎይነ ኩንꬅስ፤ ሄሳ ፃምአ ፄራን ዎꬅድ፥ “ናግተ፤ ኤልያስ ማስቃለ ቦላፈ እያ ዎꬍሳናዉ ያነኮ አነ በኦስ” ያግድ የሱሳ ዶናኮ ኡሻናዉ ሺሽስ።BSBBSB: And someone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine. He put it on a reed and held it up for Jesus to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.”
37. 37GOFEየሱሲ ባ ቃላ ꬎቁ ኦꬅ ዋስድ፥ ሀይቅስ።BSBBSB: But Jesus let out a loud cry and breathed His last.
38. 38GOFEፆሳ ኬꬃን ካቀትዳ ማጋራጆይ ቆሞፈ ዱገ ጋካናዉ፥ ናምኡ ከይድ ዳከት ዎꬍስ።BSBBSB: And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
39. 39GOFEማስቃልያፐ ስንꬃ ባጋራ ያን ኤቅዳ እስ ማቶ ሀላቃይ፥ የሱሲ ዋንድ ሀይቅዳኮ በእዳ ዎደ፥ “ሀ ኡራይ ቱማ ፆሳ ናአ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: When the centurion standing there in front of Jesus saw how He had breathed His last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
40. 40GOFEሄሳ ሃሆን ኤቅድ በእያ ጉꬃ ማጫሳት ደኦሶና። ኤንታ ግዶን ማግደላ ማይራማ፥ ካሉዋ ያይቆባነ ዮሳ አይያ ማይራማነ ሳሎማ ደኦሶና።BSBBSB: And there were also women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.
41. 41GOFEሄ ማጫሳት የሱሲ ጋልላን ደእያ ዎደ እያ ካልዳይሳታነ እያ ሞክዳይሳታ ቃስ የሱሳራ እስፈ የሩሳላመ ብዳ ሀራ ዳሮ ማጫሳት ያን ደኦሶና።BSBBSB: These women had followed Jesus and ministered to Him while He was in Galilee, and there were many other women who had come up to Jerusalem with Him.
42. 42GOFEሳእ ኦማርስዳ ዎደ፥ ሺቅዳ አሳን ቦንቸትዳ አይሁደ ሻንጎታፐ እሶይ፥ ዮሰፋ ጌተትያ ኡራይ፥ ፆሳ ካዎተꬃይ ያናይሳ ናግሸ ደኤይስ፥ አርማተ ካታማ አስ ደኤይስ ይስ። ዎንተ ሳምባታስ ጊገትያ ጋላስ ግድዳ ግሾ፥ ዮሰፍ ምንድ ጵላፆሳኮ ብድ፥ የሱሳ አሀ ኤካናዉ ዎስስ።BSBBSB: Now it was already evening. Since it was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath),
43. 44GOFEጵላፆስ፥ የሱሲ ሀይቅዳይሳ ስእዳ ዎደ ማላለትስ፤ ማቶ ሀላቃ ፄግድ፥ “እ ሀይቅድ ጋምእዴ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: Pilate was surprised to hear that Jesus was already dead, so he summoned the centurion to ask if this was so.
44. 45GOFEጵላፆስ፥ የሱሲ ሀይቅዳይሳ ማቶ ሀላቃፐ ስእድ እያ አሀ ዮሰፋስ እሚስ።BSBBSB: When Pilate had confirmed it with the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
45. 46GOFEዮሰፍ ሞጎ አፍላ ሻምስ፤ የሱሳ አሀ ማስቃልያፐ ዎꬅድ፥ አፍላን ፃፅድ፥ ሹቻፈ ዎጨትዳ ዱፎን እያ አሀ ሞግስ። ቃስ ሄ ዱፉዋ ዶናን ግታ ሹቹ ጎንዶርስድ ዎꬅስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph bought a linen cloth, took down the body of Jesus, wrapped it in the cloth, and placed it in a tomb that had been cut out of the rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb.
46. 47GOFEማግደላ ማይራማነ ዮሳ አይያ ማይራማ የሱሳ አሀ ኤንቲ አዉን ዎꬅያኮ በኦሶና።BSBBSB: Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where His body was placed.
