1. 1GOFEየሩሳላመፐ ይዳ ጉꬃ ፋርሳወትነ ህገ አስታማረት የሱሳ ማታን ሺቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus,
2. 2GOFEየሱሳ ታማረታፐ እሶት እሶት ጌዮና ኩሽያን፥ ሄስካ ኩሸ ሜጨቶና ካꬅ መይሳታ በእዶሶና።BSBBSB: and they saw some of His disciples eating with hands that were defiled—that is, unwashed.
3. 3GOFEፋርሳወትነ አይሁደ አሳ ኡባይ ባንታ አዋታ ዎጋꬆ ባንታ ኩሽያ ሜጨቶና ሞኮና።BSBBSB: Now in holding to the tradition of the elders, the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat until they wash their hands ceremonially.
4. 4GOFEሄሳዳካ፥ ኤንቲ ግያፐ ሻመትዳባ ሜጮና ደእሸ ሞኮና። ቃስ ኤንቲ ባንታ አዋታፐ ኤክዳ ሀራ ዳሮ ዎግ ደኤስ፦ ሄስካ ስነታ፥ ከረታ፥ ብራታ ሚሸታነ አርሳ ሜጭያ ዎጋ ናገይሳ።BSBBSB: And on returning from the market, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions for them to observe, including the washing of cups, pitchers, kettles, and couches for dining.
5. 5GOFEፋርሳወትነ ህገ አስታማረት የሱሳ፥ “ነ ታማረት አይስ አዋታ ዎጋ መንꬅድ ባንታ ኩሽያ ሜጨቶና ካꬅ ሞና?” ያግድ ኦይችዶሶና።BSBBSB: So the Pharisees and scribes questioned Jesus: “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders? Instead, they eat with defiled hands.”
6. 6GOFEየሱሲ ኤንታኮ፥ “እሳያስ ህንተና ጩቦታ፥ “ ‘ሀይስ አሳይ ታና ባ እንፃርሳ ፃላላን ቦንቼስ፥ ሽን ኤንታ ዎዛናይ ታፐ ሃሆን ደኤስ።BSBBSB: Jesus answered them, “Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.
7. 7GOFEአስ መꬍዳ ዎጋ ፆሳ ህገ ዳንስድ ታማርስያ ግሾ፥ ኤንቲ ታዉ መላ ጎይኖሶና’ ” ግድ ፃፍዳይስ ቱማ።BSBBSB: They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’
8. 8GOFE“ህንተ ፆሳ ኪታ አግድ አሳ ዎጋ ምንꬅድ ናገታ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: You have disregarded the commandment of God to keep the tradition of men.”
9. 9GOFEቃስካ የሱሲ፥ “ህንተ ህንተ ዎጋ ናግድ ፆሳ ኪታ የግ አጋናዉ ሎኦ ኦገ ደምደታ።BSBBSB: He went on to say, “You neatly set aside the command of God to maintain your own tradition.
10. 10GOFEሙሰይ፥ ‘ነ አዋነ ነ አይዉ ቦንቻ’፥ ቃስ ‘ባ አዋነ ባ አይዉ ጫየይስ ሀይቃናዉ በሴስ’ ያግስ።BSBBSB: For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’ and ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’
11. 11GOFEሽን እስ አስ ባ አዋ ዎይኮ ባ አይዉ ማዳናይሳ አግድ፥ ‘ሀይስ ታኒ ፆሳስ እምዳ ያርሾ’ ጊኮ፥BSBBSB: But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God),
12. 12GOFEእ ባ አዋ ዎይኮ ባ አይዉ ማዶና መላ ኦꬄታ።BSBBSB: he is no longer permitted to do anything for his father or mother.
13. 13GOFEሄሳዳካ፥ ህንተ ሀራታ ታማርስዳ ህንተ ዎጋን ፆሳ ቃላ ካꬍደታ። ሄሳ መላ ሀራ ዳሮባ ኦꬄታ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do so in many such matters.”
14. 14GOFEየሱሲ ዳሮ አሳ ቃስካ ባኮ ፄግድ፥ “ኡባይ ታኒ ኦደይሳ ስእተነ አኬክተ።BSBBSB: Once again Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “All of you, listen to Me and understand:
15. 15GOFEአሳ ዎዛናፐ ከያባይ አሰ ቱንሴስፐ አትሽን፥ ካረፐ አሳ ኡሎ ገልድ አሰ ቱንስያባይ አይብካ ባዋ።BSBBSB: Nothing that enters a man from the outside can defile him; but the things that come out of a man, these are what defile him.”
16. 16GOFEስእያ ሀይꬅ ደእያ ኦንካ ስኦ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Not in the BSB

17. 17GOFEየሱሲ ዳሮ አሳ የግ አግድ ሶ ገልን እያ ታማረት ሄ ሌምሱዋባ እያ ኦይችዶሶና።BSBBSB: After Jesus had left the crowd and gone into the house, His disciples inquired about the parable.
18. 18GOFEእ ኤንታኮ፥ “ህንተዉካ ቃስ ገልቤኔ? ካረፐ አሳን ገልያባይ አይብካ አሰ ቱንሳናዉ ዳንዳኦናይሳ አኬከቲ?BSBBSB: “Are you still so dull?” He asked. “Do you not understand? Nothing that enters a man from the outside can defile him,
19. 19GOFEአይስ ጊኮ፥ ካꬅ አሳ ኡሎ ግዶ ገልድ ካንꬅድ አስፐ አትሽን፥ አሳ ዎዛና ግዶ ገለና” ያግስ። ሄሳን የሱሲ ካꬅ ኡባይ ጌሽ ግደይሳ ኤርስስ።BSBBSB: because it does not enter his heart, but it goes into the stomach and then is eliminated.” (Thus all foods are clean.)
20. 20GOFEካልድካ፥ የሱሲ፥ “አሳ ቱንስያባይ አሳ ዎዛና ግዶፈ ከያባ።BSBBSB: He continued: “What comes out of a man, that is what defiles him.
21. 21GOFEአሳ ዎዛና ግዶፈ ከያባይ ኢታ ቆፋ፥ ላይማተꬅ፥ ካይሶ፥ አሰ ዎꬎ፥ ላመ፥BSBBSB: For from within the hearts of men come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,
22. 22GOFEኢታ አሞ፥ ኢታተꬅ፥ ገነ፥ ቃይፀ፥ ጭሞ፥ ቃናተ፥ ጫሸ፥ ኦቶሮነ ቦዛተꬅ።BSBBSB: greed, wickedness, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, arrogance, and foolishness.
23. 23GOFEሀ ኢታባይ ኡባይካ አሳ ዎዛና ግዶፈ ከይድ አሰ ቱንሴስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: All these evils come from within, and these are what defile a man.”
24. 24GOFEየሱሲ ያፐ ከይድ፥ ፅሮሳ ካታማ ማታን ደእያ ቢታ ብስ። እ እስ ኬꬅ ገልድ ያን ደኤይሳ ኦንካ ኤራና መላ ኮይቤና። ሽን ቆሰትድ ጋምአናዉ ዳንዳእቤና።BSBBSB: Jesus left that place and went to the region of Tyre. Not wanting anyone to know He was there, He entered a house, but was unable to escape their notice.
25. 25GOFEሽን እ ጉꬃ ናእዉ ቱና አያናይ ኦይክዳ እስ ማጫስያ የሱሳባ ስአዳ ኤለሳ እያኮ ያዳ እያ ቶሁዋ ቦላ ኩንዳሱ።BSBBSB: Instead, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit soon heard about Jesus, and she came and fell at His feet.
26. 26GOFEእያ አይሁደ ማጫስ ግዱኩ፤ እያ የለትዳይ ስሮፍንቀ ቢታና። እያ፥ ባ ናኤፐ ቱና አያና ከሳና መላ የሱሳ ዎሳሱ።BSBBSB: Now she was a Greek woman of Syrophoenician origin, and she kept asking Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.
27. 27GOFEሽን የሱሲ ዛሪድ፥ “ናይት ኮይሮትድ ካꬃ ካሎ፤ ናይታ ካꬃ ኤክድ ካናታስ የገይስ ሎኦ ግደና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “First let the children have their fill,” He said. “For it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
28. 28GOFEማጫስያ ዛራዳ፥ “ታ ጎዳዉ ሄስ ቱማ፥ ሽን ጋይታ ማታን ደእያ ካናት ናይታፐ ዎꬍያ ቲፍያ ሞሶና” ያጋሱ።BSBBSB: “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
29. 29GOFEየሱሲ ቃስ ኢኮ፥ “ሀ ነ ቃላ ግሾ፥ ነ ሶ ባ፤ ቱና አያናይ ነ ናኤፐ ከይስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus told her, “Because of this answer, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”
30. 30GOFEማጫስያ ባ ሶ ብያ ዎደ ቱና አያናይ ኢፐ ከይን ሂፃን ዝንእዳሮ ደማሱ።BSBBSB: And she went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon was gone.
31. 31GOFEየሱሲ ፅሮሳ ካታማፐ ከይድ፥ ስዶናራነ ታሙ ካታማታ ጌተትያ ቢታራ ካንꬅድ ጋልላ አባኮ ብስ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus left the region of Tyre and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis.
32. 32GOFEአሳይ ቱለነ ዋይድ ኦደትያ አስ የሱሳኮ ኤህድ፥ ባ ኩሽያ እያ ቦላ ዎꬃና መላ እያ ዎስዶሶና።BSBBSB: Some people brought to Him a man who was deaf and hardly able to speak, and they begged Jesus to place His hand on him.
33. 33GOFEየሱሲ ባርካ ሄ ኡራ ዳሮ አሳፐ ጋፃ ከስድ፥ ባ ብራꬍያ እያ ሀይꬃን የድስ። ቃስ ጩቹ ጩትድ እያ እንፃርሳ ቦችስ።BSBBSB: So Jesus took him aside privately, away from the crowd, and put His fingers into the man’s ears. Then He spit and touched the man’s tongue.
34. 34GOFEሳሎ ፑደ ፄልድ፥ ቶክ ሸምፕድ፥ “ኤፍታህ” ግስ። ብርሸꬃይካ “ዶየታ” ጉሱ።BSBBSB: And looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means, “Be opened!”).
35. 35GOFEኡራ ሀይꬃይ ኤለስድ ዶየትስ፥ ቃሸትዳ እንፃርሳይካ ብርሸትስ፥ ኡራይ ጌሽድ ኦደትስ።BSBBSB: Immediately the man’s ears were opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak plainly.
36. 36GOFEየሱሲ አሳኮ፥ “ሀይሳ ኦደስካ ኦዶፕተ” ያግስ። ሽን እ ዳሮ ምንꬅድ ኦዶፕተ ግን፥ አሳይ ኦዳ ያ ዳርስስ።BSBBSB: Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone. But the more He ordered them, the more widely they proclaimed it.
37. 37GOFEሄሳ ስእዳ አሳ ኡባይ ዳሮ ማላለትድ፥ “ኡባባ እ ሎይꬅ ኦꬄስ። ሀር አቶሽን፥ ቱልያ ስሴስ፥ ሙምያ ኦድሴስ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: The people were utterly astonished and said, “He has done all things well! He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
