1የሱሲ ያፐ ከይድ፥ ባ ታማረታ ካለꬅድ፥ ባ ካታማ ናዝረተ ብስ።Jesus went on from there and came to His hometown, accompanied by His disciples.

2ሳምባታ ጋላስ አይሁደ ዎሳ ኬꬃን ታማርሶ ኦይክስ። እ ታማርሰይሳ ስእዳ ዳሮ አሳይ ማላለትድ፥ “ሀይስ ሀ ኡባ አዉፐ ደምዴ? ሀ ጭንጫተꬃ እ አዉፐ ኤክዴ? ሀ ማላታታ ኦꬅያ ማታ እ አዉፐ ደምዴ?When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard Him were astonished. “Where did this man get these ideas?” they asked. “What is this wisdom He has been given? And how can He perform such miracles?

3ሀይስ አናፅያ ግደኔ? ማይራም ናአ፥ ያይቆባ፥ ዮሳ፥ ይሁዳነ ስሞና እሻ ግደነዬ? እያ ምቸት ኑራ ሀይሳን ደኦኮናዬ?” ያግድ፥ እ ግያባ ኤኮና እፅዶሶና።Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? Aren’t His sisters here with us as well?” And they took offense at Him.

4የሱሲ ሄ አሳኮ፥ “ናበይ ባ ቢታን፥ ባ ዳቦታንነ ባ ሶ አሳን ቦንቸተናፈ አትሽን፥ ሀራታ ማታን ቦንቸቴስ” ያግስ።Then Jesus said to them, “Only in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his own household is a prophet without honor.”

5እ ሄ በሳን ባ ኩሽያ ጉꬃ አሳ ቦላ ዎꬅድ ፓꬅዳይሳፈ አትሽን፥ ሀራ ማላታታ ኦꬃናዉ ዳንዳእቤና።So He could not perform any miracles there, except to lay His hands on a few of the sick and heal them.

6አሳይ አማንቦና ግሾ ዳሮ ማላለትስ። ሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ የሱሲ ሄ ሄራን ደእያ ጉታታን አሳ ታማርሴስ።And He was amazed at their unbelief. And He went around from village to village, teaching the people.

7የሱሲ ታማነ ናምኡ ታማረታ ባኮ ፄግድ፥ ናምኣ ናምኣ ጋꬅድ ኪትስ። ኤንታዉ ቱና አያናታ ከስያ ዎልቃ እሚስ።Then Jesus called the Twelve to Him and began to send them out two by two, giving them authority over unclean spirits.

8ኤንታ፥ “ኦገ ፃምአፈ አትሽን፥ ካꬅ፥ ካርፂታ፥ ህንተ ኪሰን ሚሸ አይብባካ ኦይኮፍተ።He instructed them to take nothing but a staff for the journey—no bread, no bag, no money in their belts—

9ህንተ ቶሁዋን ጫማ አꬅተ፥ ሽን ናምኡ አፍላ ኦይኮፍተ” ያግስ።and to wear sandals, but not a second tunic.

10ቃስካ፥ “ህንተና አስ ሞክዳ ሶ አዉንካ ግድን ሄ በሳ የድድ ባና ጋካናዉ ሄ ኬꬃን ጋምእተ።And He told them, “When you enter a house, stay there until you leave that area.

11ህንተና አስ ሞኮናሱዋ ዎይኮ ህንተ ኦድያባ ስኦናሱዋ አዉን ግድኮካ፥ ሄ ቢታን ደእያ አሳስ ማርካ ግዳና መላ ሄ በሳፈ ከይሸ፥ ህንተ ቶሁዋፐ ባና ፕትተ” ያግስ።If anyone will not welcome you or listen to you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that place, as a testimony against them.”

12ታማነ ናምኡ ታማረት ብድ፥ አሳይ ባንታ ናጋራፐ ስማናዳ ቃላ ኦድዶሶና።So they set out and preached that the people should repent.

13ኤንቲ አሳፐ ዳሮ ቱና አያናታ ከስዶሶና። ዳሮ ሀርጋንቾታ ዛይተ ትይድ ፓꬅዶሶና።They also drove out many demons and healed many of the sick, anointing them with oil.

14የሱሳ ሱንꬃይ ኡባ በሳን ከይዳ ግሾ፥ ካዎይ ሄሮዲስ እያባ ስእስ። እስ እስ አሳይ፥ “ፃማቅያ ዮሃንስ ሀይቆፐ ደንድስ፥ ሄሳ ግሾ ሀ ማላታታ ኦይ እያ” ያግዶሶና።Now King Herod heard about this, for Jesus’ name had become well known, and people were saying, “John the Baptist has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”

15ባጋት፥ “ሀይስ ኤልያሳ ግደኔ?” ያግዶሶና። ሀራት ቃስ፥ “ሀይስ በን ዎደ ናበታፐ እሱዋ ግዶና አገና” ያግዶሶና።Others were saying, “He is Elijah,” and still others, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old.”

16ሽን ሄሮዲስ ሄሳ ስእዳ ዎደ፥ “ሀይስ ታኒ ቆꬍያ ቃንፅስዳ ፃማቅያ ዮሃንሳ ግደኔ? እ ሀይቆፐ ደንድስ” ያግስ።But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has risen from the dead!”

17ሄሮዲስ ባ እሻ ፍልጶሳ ማችዉ ሄሮድያዳ ኤክዳ ግሾ እ ጋሶን ዮሃንሳ ኦይꬅድ ቃሽስስ።For Herod himself had ordered that John be arrested and bound and imprisoned, on account of his brother Philip’s wife Herodias, whom Herod had married.

18ዮሃንስ ሄሮዲሳ፥ “ኔኒ ነ እሻ ማችዉ ኤካናዉ በሰና” ያግስ።For John had been telling Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife!”

19ሄሮድያዳ ዮሃንሳ ባ ኡሎን ሞርካዳ እያ ዎꬍሳናዉ ኮያሱ፥ ሽን ዳንዳአቡኩ።So Herodias held a grudge against John and wanted to kill him. But she had been unable,

20ዮሃንስ ፅሎነ ጌሻ አስ ግድዳይሳ ሄሮዲስ ኤርዳ ግሾ፥ እያዉ ባብድ ሎይꬅ ናግሴስ። ሄሮዲስ ዮሃንስ ግያባ ስአናዉ ዶስኮካ እ ግያባ ስእያ ዎደ ዳሮ ዳጋሜስ።because Herod feared John and protected him, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man. When he heard John’s words, he was greatly perplexed; yet he listened to him gladly.

21ሄሮዲስ ባ የለትዳ ጋላሳ ቦንቻናዉ ደርያ ሃረይሳታስ፥ ሻላቃታስነ ጋልላን ደእያ ግታ አሳስ እማቶ ጊግስስ። ሄስ ሄሮድያዳስ እንጀ ጋላስ ግድስ።On Herod’s birthday, her opportunity arose. Herod held a banquet for his nobles and military commanders and the leading men of Galilee.

22ሄሮድያዳ ናእያ እማꬃይ ሞከትያ በሳ ገላ ዱራዳ፥ ሄሮዲሳነ እያ እማꬃታ ኡፋይሳሱ። ካዎይ ናእዉ፥ “ነ ኮያባ አይባ ግድኮካ ታና ኦይቻ፥ ታኒ ነዉ እማና” ያግስ።When the daughter of Herodias came and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests, and the king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you wish, and I will give it to you.”

23ቃስ እዉ ጫቅድ፥ “ኔኒ ኦይችያባ አይባ ግድኮካ፥ ታኒ ነዉ እማና። ሀር አቶሽን፥ ታ ካዎተꬃ ባጋ ግድኮካ ታኒ ነዉ እማና” ያግስ።And he swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half my kingdom!”

24ናእያ ካረ ከያዳ ባ አየኮ፥ “አይ እማ ጎ?” ጋዳ ኦይቻሱ። እ አይያ፥ “ፃማቅያ ዮሃንሳ ሁጵያ እማ ጋ” ያጋሱ።Then she went out and asked her mother, “What should I request?” And her mother answered, “The head of John the Baptist.”

25ናእያ ኤለሳዳ ካዋኮ ባዳ፥ “ፃማቅያ ዮሃንሳ ሁጵያ ሳነን ዎꬃዳ ሀእ ታዉ እማና መላ ኮያይስ” ያጋሱ።At once the girl hurried back to the king with her request: “I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter immediately.”

26ያንን፥ ካዎይ ዳሮ ቂሮትስ፥ ሽን ባ እማꬃታ ግሾ እዉ ጫቅዳ ባ ጫቁዋ መንꬃናዉ ኮይቤና።The king was consumed with sorrow, but because of his oaths and his guests, he did not want to refuse her.

27ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ኤለስድ ናገይሳ ዮሃንሳ ሁጵያ ኤሀና መላ ኪትስ። ናገይስ ቃሾ ኬꬅ ብድ ዮሃንሳ ቆꬍያ ቃንፅስ።So without delay, the king commanded that John’s head be brought in. He sent an executioner, who went and beheaded him in the prison.

28ሄ ቃንፀትዳ ሁጵያ ሳነን ዎꬅ ኤህድ ናኤስ እሚስ። ናእያ ቃስ ባ አየስ እማሱ።The man brought John’s head on a platter and presented it to the girl, who gave it to her mother.

29ዮሃንሳ ታማረት ሄሳ ስእዳ ዎደ ብድ እያ አሀ ኤክ ኤፍድ ሞግዶሶና።When John’s disciples heard about this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.

30ታማነ ናምኡ ሀዋረት ስም ይድ ኤንቲ ኦꬅዳባነ ታማርስዳባ ኡባ የሱሳስ ኦድዶሶና።Meanwhile, the apostles gathered around Jesus and brought Him news of all they had done and taught.

31ኤንታኮ ያ አሳይነ ብያ አሳይ ዳርዳ ግሾ፥ የሱሳራነ እያ ታማረታራ፥ ሀር አቶሽን ካꬅ ማናዉካ ኤንታ ጋꬆና እፅስ። ያንን፥ የሱሲ ኤንታኮ፥ “ኑርካ ጉꬅ ሸምፕ ኤካናዉ አስ ባይና በሲ የꬍተ” ያግስ።And He said to them, “Come with Me privately to a solitary place, and let us rest for a while.” For many people were coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.

32ሄሳ ግሾ፥ ኤንቲ ባንታርካ ዎጎሎን ገልድ አስ ባይና በሲ ብዶሶና።So they went away in a boat by themselves to a solitary place.

33ኤንቲ ብሽን ዳሮ አሳይ ኤንታ በእድ ኤርዶሶና። ያትን፥ ካታማ ኡባፈ አሳይ ቶሆራ ዎፅ ብድ ኤንቲ ብያ በሳ ኤንታፈ ስን ጋክዶሶና።But many people saw them leaving and recognized them. They ran together on foot from all the towns and arrived before them.

34የሱሲ ዎጎሉዋፐ ዎꬍድ ዳሮ አሳ በእስ። አሳይ ሄምያ አስ ባይና ዶርሳ መላ ግድዳይሳ በእድ ኤንታዉ ቃትድ ኤንታ ዳሮባ ታማርስስ።When Jesus stepped ashore and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

35ሳአይ ኦማርስያ ዎደ የሱሳ ታማረት እያኮ ይድ፥ “ሀይስ በሳይ አስ ባይና በሲ፤ ሀእ ሳእካ ቃምስ።By now the hour was already late. So the disciples came to Jesus and said, “This is a desolate place, and the hour is already late.

36አሳይ ጉታታነ ካታማታ ብድ ባንታዉ ምያባ ሻማና መላ አሳ የዳ” ያግዶሶና።Dismiss the crowd so they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”

37ሽን የሱሲ ዛሪድ ኤንታኮ፥ “አሳስ ምያባ ህንተ እምተ” ያግስ። ኤንቲ፥ “ኑኒ ብድ ናምኡ ፄቱ ድናረን ኡይꬁ ሻምድ አሳ ሙዛና መላ ኮያይ?” ያግድ ኦይችዶሶና።But Jesus told them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked Him, “Should we go out and spend two hundred denarii to give all of them bread to eat?”

38የሱሲ ኤንታኮ፥ “ህንተዉ አፑን ኡይꬅ ደኢ? አነ ብድ በእተ” ያግስ። ኤንቲ በእድ፥ “እቻሹ ኡይꬁነ ናምኡ ሞሎ” ያግዶሶና።“Go and see how many loaves you have,” He told them. And after checking, they said, “Five—and two fish.”

39የሱሲ ባ ታማረታ አሳ ኡባ ጩጋን ጩጋን ሻክድ ማታን ኡትሳና መላ ኪትስ።Then Jesus directed them to have the people sit in groups on the green grass.

40አሳይ ፄቱ ጩጋንነ እሻታሙ ጩጋን ሻከት ሻከት ኡትዶሶና።So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties.

41የሱሲ እቻሹ ኡይꬃነ ናምኡ ሞሎታ ኤክድ፥ ፑደ ሳሎ ፄልድ ፆሳ ጋላትስ። ኡይꬃ መንꬅድ አሳስ ግሻና መላ ባ ታማረታስ እሚስ። ቃስ ናምኡ ሞሎታ ኤንታ ኡባስ ሻክስ።Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, Jesus spoke a blessing and broke the loaves. Then He gave them to His disciples to set before the people. And He divided the two fish among them all.

42አሳ ኡባይ ምድ ካልዶሶና።They all ate and were satisfied,

43አትዳ ኡይꬃ ቲፍያነ ሞሎታ ቲፍያ፥ እያ ታማረት ታማነ ናምኡ ጋይታ ኩመꬅ ደንꬅዶሶና።and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish.

44ኡይꬃ ምዳ አደ አሳ ታይቦይ እቻሹ ሙኩሉ።And there were five thousand men who had eaten the loaves.

45ኤለስድ የሱሲ ባ ታማረት ዎጎሉዋን ገልድ፥ አባፈ ሄፍንꬃን ደእያ ቤተሳይዳ ባፐ ስንꬃትድ ባና መላ ኪትስ። ሽን ባዉ አሳ ሞይዛናዉ ጉየ አትስ።Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to Bethsaida, while He dismissed the crowd.

46አሳ ሞይዝዳፐ ጉየ፥ ፆሳ ዎሳናዉ ዙማ ቦላ ከይስ።After bidding them farewell, He went up on the mountain to pray.

47ሳአይ ቃምያ ዎደ ዎጎሎይ አባ ግዶን ደኤስ፥ ሽን የሱሲ አባፈ ጋፃን ባርካ ደኤስ።When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and Jesus was alone on land.

48ጫርኮይ እያ ታማረታኮ ጫርክያ ግሾ፥ አባ ፕꬎይ ዋይሰይሳ የሱሲ በእስ። ዎንትማ ሳእ ጌያና ሀንያ ዎደ እ አባ ቦላ ሄመትሸ ኤንታኮ ይድ፥ ኤንታ የግድ አꬋናዉ ኮይስ።He could see that the disciples were straining to row, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went out to them, walking on the sea. He intended to pass by them,

49ሽን እ አባ ቦላ ሄመትሽን፥ ኤንቲ በእድ፥ ኤንታዉ ሞይትለ ዳንን ዋስዶሶና።but when they saw Him walking on the sea, they cried out, thinking He was a ghost—

50ኤንቲ ኡባይ እያ በእድ፥ ያሻን ኮኮርዶሶና። ሽን የሱሲ ኤለስድ ኤንታኮ፥ “ታና፥ አይኮይ ባዋ፤ ያዮፍተ” ያግስ።for they all saw Him and were terrified. But Jesus spoke up at once: “Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.”

51የሱሲ ዎጎሉዋን ገልድ ኤንታራ እስፈ ኡትን ጫርኮይ ዎፑ ግስ። ኤንቲ ዳሮ ማላለትዶሶና።Then He climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. And the disciples were utterly astounded,

52ኤንታ ዎዛናይ ዘልኡምዳ ግሾ፥ ኤንቲ ኡይꬃባ አኬክቦኮና።for they had not understood about the loaves, but their hearts had been hardened.

53ኤንቲ አባ ፕንድ፥ ገንሳሬፀ ቢታ ጋክድ፥ ዎጎሉዋ ጋፃ ሺሽድ ቃችዶሶና።When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and moored the boat.

54ኤንቲ ዎጎሉዋፐ ዎꬍያ ዎደ አሳይ ኤለስድ የሱሳ ኤርዶሶና።As soon as they got out of the boat, the people recognized Jesus

55ኤንቲ ሄራን ደእያ ቢታ ኡባን ዎፀረትድ ሀርጋንቾታ ሀላን ቶክድ፥ “የሱሲ ደኤስ” ግን ስእዳ በሳ ኤህዶሶና።and ran through that whole region, carrying the sick on mats to wherever they heard He was.

56አሳይ እ ብዳ ሶ ኡባን፥ ጋፃርያን ግድን፥ ካታማን፥ ደእያ ሀርጋንቾታ ዳባባ ኤፎሶና። ሀርጋንቾት እያ አፍላ ማጫራ ግድኮካ ቦቻና መላ አሳይ እያ ዎስዶሶና። ቦችዳ ኡባይ ፓፅስ።And wherever He went—villages and towns and countrysides—they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged Him just to let them touch the fringe of His cloak. And all who touched Him were healed.
