1. 1GOFEየሱሲ ታማነ ናምኡ ታማረታ ኪትዳፐ ጉየ ያፐ ደንድድ ታማርሳናዉነ ሳባካናዉ ጋልላ ካታማታ ብስ።BSBBSB: After Jesus had finished instructing His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2. 2GOFEዮሃንስ ቃሾ ኬꬃን ደእሸ ክርስቶስ ኦꬅያባታ ስእድ፥ ባ ታማረታፐ እያኮ ኪትድ፥BSBBSB: Meanwhile John heard in prison about the works of Christ, and he sent his disciples
3. 3GOFE“ያና ጌተትዳይ ነነዬ? ዎይኮ ኑኒ ሀራ ናግኖ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: to ask Him, “Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”
4. 4GOFEየሱሲ ኤንታኮ ዛሪድ፥ “ብድ ህንተ ስእያባነ ህንተ በእያባ ዮሃንሳስ ኦድተ።BSBBSB: Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see:
5. 5GOFEቆቀት ፄሎሶና፥ ዎበት ሄመቶሶና፥ ባሮ ሀርጋንቾት ፓፆሶና፥ ቱለት ስኦሶና፥ ሀይቅዳይሳት ሀይቆፐ ደንዶሶና፤ ማንቆታስ ዎንገላይ ሳባከቴስ።BSBBSB: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
6. 6GOFEታናን ꬉበቶናይ አንጀትዳይሳ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Blessed is the one who does not fall away on account of Me.”
7. 7GOFEዮሃንሳ ታማረት ጉየ ስሚድ ብን፥ የሱሲ ደርያስ ዮሃንሳባ ኦድሸ፥ “ሀ መላ ቢታ አይ በአናዉ ከይደቲ? ጫርኮይ ቃꬅያ ማይረ በአናዉ ይደትዬ?BSBBSB: As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swaying in the wind?
8. 8GOFEያትን፥ አይ በአናዉ ከይደቲ? ኮይሰ ማኦ ማእዳ አሰ በአናሰዬ? ኮይሰ ማኦ ማእዳ አሳት ካዎ ጋꬎን ደኦሶና።BSBBSB: Otherwise, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who wear fine clothing are found in kings’ palaces.
9. 9GOFEያትን፥ አይ በአናዉ ከይደቲ? ናበ በአናሰዬ? ሄኮ፥ ህንተ ናበፐ አይሳ በኤታ።BSBBSB: What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
10. 10GOFE“ነ ኦግያ ነ ስንꬃን ጊግስያ ታ ኪታንቹዋ ኔፐ ስን ኪታና” ጌተትድ ፃፈትዳይ እያሳ።BSBBSB: This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’
11. 11GOFEታ ህንተዉ ቱማ ኦዳይስ፤ ማጫሳፐ የለትዳይሳታ ግዶፈ ዮሃንሳፐ አይ ኦንካ ባዋ፤ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃን ኡባፈ ጉፀይ እ፥ እያፐ አꬋና።BSBBSB: Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12. 12GOFEፃማቅያ ዮሃንሳ ዎድያፐ ዶምድ ሀች ጋካናዉ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃይ ዳሮ ናቀቴስ፥ ምንዳ አሳት ዎልቃን ያ ገላና።BSBBSB: From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.
13. 13GOFEናበት ኡባይነ ሙሰ ህገይ ዮሃንሳ ዎደ ጋካናዉ ሳሎ ካዎተꬃባ ትንብተ ኦድዶሶና።BSBBSB: For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.
14. 14GOFEህዛ፥ ህንተ ኤንታ ኪታ አማናና ግድኮ፥ ያና ጌተትዳ ኤልያስ፥ እ ዮሃንሳ።BSBBSB: And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.
15. 15GOFEህዛ፥ ስእያ ሀይꬅ ደኤይ ስኦ።BSBBSB: He who has ears, let him hear.
16. 16GOFE“ህዛ፥ ሀ ዎድያ የለተꬃ አይብራ ዳንሶ? ግያ ግዶን ኡትድ ዎል ፄግድ፥BSBBSB: To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:
17. 17GOFE‘ኑ ህንተዉ ሱሱልኤ ፑንን፤ ህንተ የፀከታ። ኑ ሳቢድ ዘሌልን፤ ህንተ ዬከከታ’ ግያ ናይታ ዳኖሶና።BSBBSB: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’
18. 18GOFEፃማቅያ ዮሃንስ ሞናነ ኡዮና ይን፥ ‘ቱና አያን ደኤስ’ ያግደታ።BSBBSB: For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’
19. 19GOFEአሳ ናአይ ምሸነ ኡይሸ ይን፥ ‘ያራምባነ ኡሻንቾ፥ ቃራፃ ቃንፅሰይሳታነ ናጋራንቾታ ዳቦ’ ያግደታ። ህዛ፥ ጭንጫተꬃ ቱማተꬃይ እያ ኦሱዋን ቆንጬስ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at this glutton and drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is vindicated by her actions.”
20. 20GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ የሱሲ ዳሮ ማላታታ ኦꬅዳ ካታማታን ደእያ አሳት ባንታ ናጋራፐ ስሚድ ማሮታን ገሎና እፅዳ ግሾ ኤንታና፥BSBBSB: Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.
21. 21GOFE“ኮራዝነ ካታማዉ ነና አየ! ቤተሳይዳ ካታማዉ ነና አየ! አይስ ጊኮ፥ ህንተ ግዶን ኦሰትዳ ማላታት ፅሮሳንነ ስዶናን ኦሰትዳ ግድያኮ፥ ኤንቲ በን ብዶ ትየትድ፥ ካዮ ማኦ ማእድ ባንታ ናጋራፐ ስም አጋና።BSBBSB: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22. 22GOFEሽን ታ ህንተዉ ኦዳይስ፤ ፕርዳ ጋላስ ህንተፈ አꬅድ ፅሮሳስነ ስዶናስ ፕርዳይ ካዉያና።BSBBSB: But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
23. 23GOFEቃስ፥ ቅፍርናሆማ፥ ኔኒ ፑደ ሳሎ ከያናዉ ኮያይ? ሀነና! ኔኒ ስኦለን የገታና። አይስ ጊኮ፥ ነ ግዶን ኦሰትዳ ማላታት ሶዶመን ኦሰትዳባ ግድያኮ፥ ሶዶመይ ሀች ጋካናዉ ደአናሽን።BSBBSB: And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.
24. 24GOFEሽን ታ ነዉ ኦዳይስ፤ ፕርዳ ጋላስ ኔፐ አꬅድ ሶዶመስ ፕርዳይ ካዉያና” ያግድ ሀንቀትስ።BSBBSB: But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
25. 25GOFEሄ ዎደ የሱሲ፥ “አዋዉ፥ ሳሉዋነ ሳኣ ጎዳዉ፥ ኔኒ ሀይሳ ኤራንቾታፐነ ጭንጫታፐ ገንꬃዳ ናይታስ ቆንጭስዳ ግሾ፥ ነና ጋላታይስ።BSBBSB: At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
26. 26GOFEኤ፥ ታ አዋዉ፥ ሀይስ ነ ሎኦ ሸንያዳ ሀንስ።BSBBSB: Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.
27. 27GOFE“ኡባይ ታዉ ታ አዋፐ እመትስ። አዋፐ ሀር ናአ ኤረይ ባዋ፥ ናኣፐነ እ ኤንታዉ ቆንጭሳናዉ ኮየይሳታፐ ሀር አዋ ኤራናዉ ዳንዳኤይ ባዋ።BSBBSB: All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.
28. 28GOFE“ህንተኖ፥ ዳቡራንቾቶ፥ ቶሆይ ዴፅዳ ኡባይ ታኮ ሃ ዪተ፤ ታኒ ህንተና ሸምፕሳና።BSBBSB: Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29. 29GOFEታኒ ታ ዎዛናን አሽከነ አዳ ግድያ ግሾ፥ ታ ቃምባራን ገልተ፥ ታፐ ታማርተ፤ ህንተ፥ ህንተ ሸምፑዋስ ሸምፖ ደማና።BSBBSB: Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30. 30GOFEታ ቃምባራይ ሊቆ፥ ቃስ ታ ቶሆይካ ካዉሸ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
