1. 1GOFEካዋ ሄሮዲሳ ዎደን የሱሲ ይሁዳ ቢታን ቤተለመ ካታማን የለትዳፐ ጉየ ፆልንቶ ታይብያ አሳት ዶሎሀፐ የሩሳላመ ይድ፥BSBBSB: After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
2. 2GOFE“የለትዳ አይሁደ ካዎይ አዉን ደኢ? ኑኒ ዶሎሀ ባጋራ ከይዳ እያ ፆልንቱዋ በእድ እያዉ ጎይናናዉ ይዳ” ያግድ ኦይችዶሶና።BSBBSB: asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
3. 3GOFEካዎይ ሄሮዲስ ሄሳ ስእዳ ዎደ ዳጋምስ። የሩሳላመን ደእያ አሳ ኡባይካ ዳጋምዶሶና።BSBBSB: When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
4. 4GOFEሄሮዲስ ካህነ ሀላቃታነ ህገ አስታማረታ ባኮ ፄግድ፥ “ክርስቶስ አዉን የለታንደሻ?” ያግድ ኤንታ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.
5. 5GOFEኤንትካ፥ “ይሁዳ ቤተለመና፤ ናበይ፥BSBBSB: “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6. 6GOFE‘ይሁዳን ደእያ ቤተለመ፥ ይሁዳን ደእያ ጎባ ካታማታፐ፥ ኔኒ አይብንካ ጉፃካ። ታ ደርያ እስራኤለ አይሳናይስ፥ ኔፐ ከያና’ ግድ ፃፍስ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of My people Israel.’”
7. 7GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ሄሮዲስ ዶሎሀፐ ይዳ አሳታ ጌማን ፄግድ፥ ፆልንቱዋ ኤንቲ በእዳ ዎድያ ኤንታፈ ጌሽድ ኤርስ።BSBBSB: Then Herod called the Magi secretly and learned from them the exact time the star had appeared.
8. 8GOFEእ ኤንታና ቤተለመ የድሸ፥ “ብድ የለትዳ ናኣ ምንꬅድ ኮይተ፤ እያ ህንተ ደምዳ ዎደ ታካ ባዳ እያዉ ጎይናና መላ ስሚድ ይሸ ታዉ ኦድተ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: And sending them to Bethlehem, he said: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”
9. 9GOFEኤንትካ ካዎይ ሄሮዲስ ግዳይሳ ስእድ ብዶሶና። ኤንቲ ዶሎሀ ባጋራ በእዳ ፆልንቶይ ኤንታና ካለꬅሸ ናአይ ደእያሱዋ ጋካናዉ ኤፍስ።BSBBSB: After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was.
10. 10GOFEኤንቲ ሄ ፆልንቱዋ በእዳ ዎደ ግታ ኡፋይስ ኡፋይትዶሶና።BSBBSB: When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great delight.
11. 11GOFEሶ ገልድ ናኣ ባ አየ ማይራምራ ደኤይሳ በእዶሶና። እያዉ ጉልባትድ ጎይንዶሶና። ባንታ ሳፅንያ ዶይድ ዎርቃ፥ እፃነነ ካርበ እያዉ እምዶሶና።BSBBSB: On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12. 12GOFEኤንቲ ሄሮዲሳኮ ጉየ ስሞና መላ ፆሳይ አሙሆን ኤንታዉ ኦድን፥ ሀራ ኦገራ ባንታ ቢታ ስምዶሶና።BSBBSB: And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another route.
13. 13GOFEዶሎሀ ባጋፈ ይዳ አሳት ብዳፐ ጉየ፥ ጎዳ ኪታንቾይ ዮሰፋስ አሙሆን ቆንጭድ፥ “ሄሮዲስ ናኣ ዎꬋናዉ ኮይያ ግሾ ደንዳ፤ ኤለሳዳ ናኣነ ናኣ አይዉ ኤካዳ ግብፀ ቢታ ባ። ነ ስማና ዎድያ ታ ነዉ ኦዳና ጋካናዉ ያን ጋምአ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”
14. 14GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ዮሰፍ ሄ ቃማን ደንድድ፥ ናኣነ ናኣ አይዉ ኤክድ ግብፀ ብስ።BSBBSB: So he got up, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,
15. 15GOFEናብያ ዶናን ፆሳይ፥ “ታኒ፥ ታ ናኣ፥ ግብፀ ቢታፈ ፄጋስ” ጌተትዳ ቃላይ ፖለታና መላ ሄሮዲስ ሀይቃና ጋካናዉ እ ያን ደእስ።BSBBSB: where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
16. 16GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ዶሎሀ ባጋፈ ይዳ አሳት እያ ጭምዳይሳ ኤርዳ ዎደ ዳሮ ይሎትስ። እ ካሰ ኤንታፈ ስእዳይሳዳ ቤተለመንነ ሄ ሄራን ደእያ ናምኡ ላይꬅ ኩምዳይሳታነ ናምኡ ላይꬃፈ ጋርሳን ደእያ አደ ናይታ ኡባ ባ ዎታዳረታ የድድ ዎꬍስስ።BSBBSB: When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was filled with rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the Magi.
17. 17GOFEናብያ ኤርምያሳ ዶናን፥ “ዬሆይነ ዘለልስ፥ ራማ ካታማን ስኤትስ። ራሄላ ባ ናይታስ ዬካዉሱ፤ ኤንቲ ሀይቅዳ ግሾ ምነታናዉ ዳንዳአቡኩ” ግድ ኦድዳይስ ፖለትስ።BSBBSB: Then what was spoken through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
18. 19GOFEሄሮዲስ ሀይቅዳፐ ጉየ ግብፀን ጎዳ ኪታንቾይ ዮሰፋስ አሙሆን ቆንጭድ፥BSBBSB: After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.
19. 20GOFE“ናኣ ዎꬋናዉ ኮይያ አሳት ሀይቅዳ ግሾ፥ ደንዳዳ ናኣነ ናኣ አይዉ ኤካዳ እስራኤለ ቢታ ስማ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those seeking the Child’s life are now dead.”
20. 21GOFEዮሰፍ ደንድድ ናኣነ ናኣ አይዉ ኤክድ እስራኤለ ቢታ ስምስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and went to the land of Israel.
21. 22GOFEሽን አርከልዮስ ይሁዳን ባ አዋ ሄሮዲሳ በሳን ካዎትዳይሳ ስእዳ ዎደ ያ ባናዉ ያይስ። ፆሳይ አሙሆን እያዉ ቆንጭስን ጋልላ ቢታ ብስ።BSBBSB: But when he learned that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,
22. 23GOFEናበታ ዶናን፥ “ናዝረተ አስ ጌተታና” ግድ ኦደትዳይስ ፖለታና መላ ናዝረተ ካታማ ብድ ያን ደእስ።BSBBSB: and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
