1. 1GOFEሄ ዎደ ፃማቅያ ዮሃንስ፥ “ፆሳ ካዎተꬃይ ማታትዳ ግሾ ህንተ ናጋራፐ ስምተ” ያግድ ሳባክሸ ይሁዳ መላ ቢታ ብስ።BSBBSB: In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea
2. 3GOFEናብያ እሳያስ ዮሃንሳባ ኦድዳይሳ መላ፥ “መላ ቢታን፥ እሶይ ባ ቃላ ꬎቁ ኦꬅድ፥ ‘ጎዳ ኦግያ ጊግስተ። እያ ሆሮጋ ፕድ ኦꬅተ’ ግስ” ያገትዳይ እያሳ ያግስ።BSBBSB: This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”
3. 4GOFEዮሃንስ ግማለ እክሰፐ ኦሰትዳ አፍላ ማኤስ። ባ ፄሳን ዳፎ ዳንጬስ። እ ምያ ካꬃይካ ቦለነ ደገራ ኤስ።BSBBSB: John wore a garment of camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
4. 5GOFEአሳይ ሄ ዎደ የሩሳላመ ካታማፐ፥ ይሁዳ ቢታ ኡባፈነ ዮርዳኖሰ ሻፋ ሄራፐ እያኮ ዮሶና።BSBBSB: People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region around the Jordan.
5. 6GOFEባንታ ናጋራ ፓፅድ ዮርዳኖሰ ሻፋን ዮሃንሳ ኩሸን ፃማቀቶሶና።BSBBSB: Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.
6. 7GOFEዮሃንስ፥ ዳሮ ፋርሳወትነ ሳዱቃወት ፃማቀታናዉ ባኮ የይሳታ በእድ፥ ኤንታኮ፥ “ሀ ኢታ ሾሻቶ፥ ያና ፆሳ ሀንቁዋፈ ባቃታና መላ ህንተና ኦነ ዞርዳይ?BSBBSB: But when John saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his place of baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
7. 8GOFEህዛ፥ ህንተ፥ ህንተ ናጋራፐ ስምዳይሳ ኤርስያባ ኦꬅተ።BSBBSB: Produce fruit, then, in keeping with repentance.
8. 9GOFEህንተ፥ ህንተ ዎዛናን፥ ‘አብራሃመይ፥ ኑ አዋይ ደኤስ’ ግድ ቆፖፍተ። ሎይꬅ ስእተ! ፆሳይ ሀ ሹቻታፐ አብራሃመስ ናአ ከሳናዉ ዳንዳኤስ።BSBBSB: And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
9. 10GOFEቤፀይ ምꬃ ፃጶን ጊግድ ኡትስ፤ ሎኦ አይፈ አይፎና ምꬃ ኡባይ ቃንፀትድ ታማን የገታና።BSBBSB: The axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
10. 11GOFE“ህንተ፥ ህንተ ናጋራፐ ስምዳይሳ ኤርሳናዉ ታኒ ህንተና ሃꬃን ፃማቃይስ። ሽን ታፐ ጉየራ የይስ ህንተና ጌሻ አያናንነ ታማን ፃማቃና። እ ታፐ ዳሮ ዎልቃሜስ፤ ታኒ ሀር አቶሽን እያ ጫማ ቶካናዉካ በስከ።BSBBSB: I baptize you with water for repentance, but after me will come One more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
11. 12GOFEካꬃ ጌሽያ ፕይ እያ ኩሸን ደኤስ። ካꬃ ሎይꬅ ጌሼስ፤ ግስትያ ባ ሻልያን ቆላና፥ ሽን ፑኑዋ ቶኦና ታማን ፁጋና” ያግስ።BSBBSB: His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
12. 13GOFEሄ ዎደ የሱሲ ዮሃንሳ ኩሸን ፃማቀታናዉ ጋልላፐ ዮርዳኖሰ ሻፋ ብስ።BSBBSB: At that time Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
13. 14GOFEሽን ዮሃንስ እያ ድጋናዉ ኮይድ፥ “ታኒ ነናን ፃማቀታናዉ ኮሽሽን ኔኒ ታኮ ያይ?” ያግስ።BSBBSB: But John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?”
14. 15GOFEሽን የሱሲ ዛሪድ፥ “ፆሳይ ኑፐ ኮያባ ኡባ ኑ ፖላናዉ በሲያ ግሾ፥ ሀእ ታዉ ኤሮ ጋ” ያግስ። ዮሃንስ እያዉ ኤሮ ግድ ኤክስ።BSBBSB: “Let it be so now,” Jesus replied. “It is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness in this way.” Then John permitted Him.
15. 16GOFEየሱሲ ፃማቀትዳ መላ ሃꬃፈ ከይስ። ኢራካ ሳሎይ ዶየትን ፆሳ አያናይ ሆለዳ ይሽን ቃስ ባ ቦላ ዎልአምድ ዎꬍሽን በእስ።BSBBSB: As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on Him.
16. 17GOFEሄ ዎደ፥ “ታ ዶስያ፥ እያን ታና ኡፋይስያ ታ ናአይ ሀይሳ” ግያ ቃላይ ሳሎፐ ይስ።BSBBSB: And a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!”
