1. 1GOFEዎንታ ጉራ ካህነ ሀላቃትነ ቢታ ጭማት ኡባይ የሱሳ ዎꬍሳናዉ ማቀትዶሶና።BSBBSB: When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people conspired against Jesus to put Him to death.
2. 2GOFEኤንቲ የሱሳ ቃች ኤፍድ ደርያ ሃርያ ጵላፆሳስ አꬅድ እምዶሶና።BSBBSB: They bound Him, led Him away, and handed Him over to Pilate the governor.
3. 3GOFEሄ ዎደ የሱሳ ኦይꬅዳ ይሁድ፥ ጵላፆስ የሱሳ ቦላ ፕርድዳይሳ በእድ፥ ቂሮትድ፥ ሄ ሀስታሙ ብራ ሳንትመ ካህነ ሀላቃታስነ ደርያ ጭማታስ ጉየ ዛርስ።BSBBSB: When Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was filled with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders.
4. 4GOFE“ታኒ ፅሎ አስ ሀይቆስ አꬃ እማዳ ናጋራ ኦꬃስ” ያግስ። ሽን ኤንቲ፥ “ሄስ ኑ መቶ ግደና ነ መቶ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood,” he said. “What is that to us?” they replied. “You bear the responsibility.”
5. 5GOFEይሁድ ሚሽያ ፆሳ ኬꬃን የግ አግድ ኤንታ ማታፐ ብድ፥ ሱለትድ ሀይቅስ።BSBBSB: So Judas threw the silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
6. 6GOFEካህነ ሀላቃት ሚሽያ ኤክድ፥ “ሀ ሚሸይ ሱꬃ ሚሸ ግድያ ግሾ፥ ኑኒ ፆሳ ኬꬃ ሚሽያራ ጋይስ ዎጋ ግደና” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: The chief priests picked up the pieces of silver and said, “It is unlawful to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
7. 7GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ እስፈ ዞረትድ፥ በተ አስ ሞጋናዉ ማና ቢታ ሻምዶሶና።BSBBSB: After conferring together, they used the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners.
8. 8GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ሄ ጋደይ ሀች ጋካናዉ ሱꬃ ቢታ ጌተትድ ፄገቴስ።BSBBSB: That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
9. 9GOFEናብያ ኤርምያስ፥ “እስራኤለ አሳይ እያዉ ቃንፃናዉ ጋማትዳ ሀስታሙ ብራ ሳንትመ ኤክዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price set on Him by the people of Israel,
10. 10GOFEጎዳይ ታና ኪትዳይሳዳ ማና ቢታ ሻማናዉ እምዶሶና” ግዳይስ ሄ ዎደ ፖለትስ።BSBBSB: and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord had commanded me.”
11. 11GOFEየሱሲ ደርያ ሃርያ ጵላፆሳ ስን ሺቅን፥ ጵላፆስ እያኮ፥ “ኔኒ አይሁደ ካዎ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። የሱሲ ዛሪድ፥ “ነ ጋዳሳ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, who questioned Him: “Are You the King of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
12. 12GOFEካህነ ሀላቃትነ ቢታ ጭማት እያ ሞትያ ዎደ ኤንታዉ አይብ ዛሮካ እምቤና።BSBBSB: And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He gave no answer.
13. 13GOFEሄ ዎደ ጵላፆስ የሱሳኮ፥ “ሀይሳቲ ነና ሞትያ ሞቱዋ ኡባ ስእኪ?” ያግስ።BSBBSB: Then Pilate asked Him, “Do You not hear how many charges they are bringing against You?”
14. 14GOFEየሱሲ ሀር አቶሽን፥ እስ ቃላካ ዛሮና እፅን፥ ደርያ ሃረይስ ዳሮ ማላለትስ።BSBBSB: But Jesus gave no answer, not even to a single charge, much to the governor’s amazement.
15. 15GOFEደርያ ሃረይስ ላይꬃን ላይꬃን ፓስካ ባኣለ ቦንችያ ጋላሳን፥ አሳይ ኮይያ እስ አስ ቃሾፐ ብርሽያ ዎግ ደኤስ።BSBBSB: Now it was the governor’s custom at the feast to release to the crowd a prisoner of their choosing.
16. 16GOFEሄ ዎደ እስ ባርባና የሱሳ ጌተትያ ዳሮ ኤረትዳ ኢታ አስ ቃሾ ኬꬃን ደኤስ።BSBBSB: At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner named Barabbas.
17. 17GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ዳሮ አሳይ ሺቅድ ደእሽን ጵላፆስ፥ “ታኒ ህንተዉ ባርባና ብሎየ ዎይኮ የሱሳ ጌተትያ ክርስቶሳ ብሎ?” ያግድ አሳ ኦይችስ።BSBBSB: So when the crowd had assembled, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
18. 18GOFEእ ሄሳ ግዳይ ኤንቲ ቃናትድ የሱሳ ኦይꬅዳይሳ ኤርያ ግሾሳ።BSBBSB: For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesus over to him.
19. 19GOFEጵላፆስ ፕርዳ ኬꬃን ኡትዳሽን፥ እያ ማችያ፥ “ታኒ ሀች ቃማ አሙሆን እያባ ዳሮ ዋየታሸ አቅዳ ግሾ፥ ሄ ፅሎ ኡራ ቦላ አይብባካ ኦꬆፋ” ያጋዳ ኪታሱ።BSBBSB: While Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered terribly in a dream today because of Him.”
20. 20GOFEሄ ዎደ ካህነ ሀላቃት፥ “ባርባን ብለቶ፥ የሱሲ ሀይቆ” ግድ ጵላፆሳ ዎሳና መላ አሳ ጭምዶሶና።BSBBSB: But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus put to death.
21. 21GOFEጵላፆስ ዛሪድ፥ “ታኒ ኤንታ ናምኣፈ ህንተዉ ኦና ብላና መላ ኮዬቲ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። ኤንቲ፥ “ባርባና ብላና መላ ኮዮስ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they replied.
22. 22GOFEጵላፆስ፥ “ያትን፥ የሱሳ ጌተትያ ክርስቶሳ ዋቶ?” ያግድ ኤንታ ኦይችስ። ኡባይ ዛሪድ፥ “ማስቃልያ ቦላ እያ ካቃ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: “What then should I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify Him!”
23. 23GOFEጵላፆስ አሳኮ፥ “አይስ? እ አይ ኢታባ ኦꬅዴ?” ያግድ ኦይችስ። ሽን አሳይ ካሰይሳፈ አꬅድ፥ “ማስቃልያ ቦላ እያ ካቃ” ግድ ዋስዶሶና።BSBBSB: “Why?” asked Pilate. “What evil has He done?” But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify Him!”
24. 24GOFEኦሽ ደንꬆፈ ሀራ አይብባካ ኦꬃናዉ ዳንዳኤቶናይሳ ጵላፆስ በእድ፥ ሃ ኤክድ፥ “ሀ ኡራ ሀይቁዋን ታኒ ደእከ። ሄሳ ኦይ ህንተና” ያግድ አሳ ስንꬃን ባ ኩሽያ ሜጨትስ።BSBBSB: When Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but that instead a riot was breaking out, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said. “You bear the responsibility.”
25. 25GOFEአሳ ኡባይ ዛሪድ፥ “እያ ሱꬃ ጎመይ ኑናነ ኑ ናይታ ጋኮ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: All the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!”
26. 26GOFEያትን፥ ጵላፆስ ባርባና ኤንታዉ ብልድ፥ የሱሳ ልሶን ጋራፍድ፥ ማስቃልያ ቦላ ካቀትድ ሀይቃና መላ ኤንታዉ አꬅድ እሚስ።BSBBSB: So Pilate released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified.
27. 27GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ጵላፆሳ ዎታዳረት የሱሳ ደርያ ሃረይሳ ሶ ኤክ ኤፍን፥ ዎታዳረት ኡባይ እያ ዩሹዋን ኤቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company around Him.
28. 28GOFEእያ አፍላ ቃር ኤክድ ዞኦ አፍላ ማይዝዶሶና።BSBBSB: They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
29. 29GOFEቃስ አጉንꬃ ካላቻ ጊግስድ፥ እያ ሁጰን ዎꬅዶሶና። እያ ኡሻቻ ኩሽያን ማይረ ፃምአ ኦይꬅድ፥ እያ ስንꬃን ጉልባትድ፥ “አይሁደ ካዋዉ፥ ሙኩሉ ላይꬅ ካዎታ!” ያግድ፥ እያ ቦላ ቀልቅስዶሶና።BSBBSB: And they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand, knelt down before Him, and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
30. 30GOFEእያ ቦላ ጩትዶሶና። ሄ ማይረ ፃምኣ ኤክድ፥ እያ ሁጰን ሾጭዶሶና።BSBBSB: Then they spit on Him and took the staff and struck Him on the head repeatedly.
31. 31GOFEኤንቲ እያ ቦላ ቀልቅስዳፐ ጉየ፥ ዞኦ አፍላ እያፐ ቃር ኤክድ፥ እያ አፍላ እያ ማይዝዶሶና። ማስቃልያ ቦላ እያ ካቃናዉ ኤክ ኤፍዶሶና።BSBBSB: After they had mocked Him, they removed the robe and put His own clothes back on Him. Then they led Him away to crucify Him.
32. 32GOFEኤንቲ ካረ ከይድ፥ እስ ስሞና ጌተትያ ቀሬና ቢታ አስ ደምድ፥ የሱሳ ማስቃልያ ዎልቃን ቶስዶሶና።BSBBSB: Along the way they found a man from Cyrene, named Simon, and they forced him to carry the cross of Jesus.
33. 33GOFEጎልጎታ ጌተትያ በሲ ጋክዶሶና። “ጎልጎታ” ጉሳይ “ጉገ በሲ” ጉሱ።BSBBSB: And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means The Place of the Skull,
34. 34GOFEሄሳን ኤንቲ ጪየ ዋላከትዳ ዎይነ ኡሻ ኡዮ ግድ እያዉ እምዶሶና። ሽን እ ሄሳ ጋንፅ ኤክድ፥ ኡዮና እፅስ።BSBBSB: they offered Him wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, He refused to drink it.
35. 35GOFEኤንቲ ማስቃልያ ቦላ እያ ካቅዳይሳፈ ጉየ፥ እያ አፍላ ሻክድ፥ ሳማ የግድ ኤክዶሶና።BSBBSB: When they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments by casting lots.
36. 36GOFEሄሳፈ ጉየ፥ ያን ኡትድ እያ ናግዶሶና።BSBBSB: And sitting down, they kept watch over Him there.
37. 37GOFEቃስ፥ “ሀይስ አይሁደ ካዋ የሱሳ” ግያ ሞቶ ፁፍያ እያ ሁጰ ሶን ዎꬅዶሶና።BSBBSB: Above His head they posted the written charge against Him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38. 38GOFEየሱሳራ ሄ ዎደ ናምኡ ፓንጋታ እሱዋ እያፐ ኡሻቻ ባጋን፥ ሀንኩዋ እያፐ ሀድርሳ ባጋራ፥ ማስቃልያ ቦላ ካቅዶሶና።BSBBSB: Two robbers were crucified with Him, one on His right and the other on His left.
39. 39GOFEኦግያራ አꬍያ አሳይ የሱሳ ቦርድ፥ እያ ቦላ ጩትሸ፥BSBBSB: And those who passed by heaped abuse on Him, shaking their heads
40. 40GOFE“ፆሳ ኬꬃ ላላዳ ሄꬑ ጋላሳ ግዶን ኬፀይሶ፥ ነና አሻ። ኔኒ ፆሳ ናአ ግድኮ፥ አነ ማስቃልያ ቦላፈ ዎꬋ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”
41. 41GOFEሄሳዳካ፥ ካህነ ሀላቃት፥ ህገ አስታማረትነ ቢታ ጭማት እስፈ የሱሳ ቦላ ቀልቅስዶሶና። ሀይሳዳ ያግዶሶና፦BSBBSB: In the same way, the chief priests, scribes, and elders mocked Him, saying,
42. 42GOFE“ሀራታ አሽስ፥ ሽን ባና አሻናዉ ዳንዳእቤና። እ እስራኤለ ካዎ ግድኮ፥ አነ ማስቃልያ ቦላፈ ሀእ ዎꬎ፥ ኑካ እያ አማናና።BSBBSB: “He saved others, but He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
43. 43GOFEፆሳን እ አማነቴስ፥ ፆሳይ እያ አሻናዉ ኮይኮ አነ አሾ። አይስ ጊኮ፥ እ ባና፥ ‘ታኒ ፆሳ ናአ’ ጌስ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: He trusts in God. Let God deliver Him now if He wants Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
44. 44GOFEቃስ ሀር አቶሽን፥ እያራ ማስቃልያ ቦላ ካቀትዳ ፓንጋትካ ሄሳዳ ግድ እያ ቦላ ቀልቅስዶሶና።BSBBSB: In the same way, even the robbers who were crucified with Him berated Him.
45. 45GOFEኡሱፑን ሳተፐ ብድ፥ ኡዱፉን ሳተ ጋካናዉ ቢታ ኡባይ ꬉምስ።BSBBSB: From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
46. 46GOFEኡዱፉን ሳተ ግድያ ዎደ የሱሲ፥ “ኤሎሄ፥ ኤሎሄ፥ ላማ ሳባቅታኒ?” ግድ ግታ ዋሶ ዋስስ። “ኤሎሄ፥ ኤሎሄ፥ ላማ ሳባቅታኒ?” ገይሳ ብርሸꬃይ “ታ ፆሳዉ፥ ታ ፆሳዉ፥ ታና አይስ አጋዲ?” ጉሱ።BSBBSB: About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
47. 47GOFEሄሳን ኤቅዳ አሳፐ እሶት እሶት ሄሳ ስእድ፥ “ሀ ኡራይ ኤልያሳ ፄጌስ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He is calling Elijah.”
48. 48GOFEኢራ ኤንታፈ እሶይ ዎፅ ብድ፥ እስፖንጀ ኤክድ፥ ጫላ ዎይነ ኡሻ ኩንꬅስ። ሄሳ ማይረ ፃምአ ፄራን ዎꬅድ ኡሻናዉ እያ ዶናኮ ሺሽስ።BSBBSB: One of them quickly ran and brought a sponge. He filled it with sour wine, put it on a reed, and held it up for Jesus to drink.
49. 49GOFEሽን ሀንኮት፥ “ናጋ፥ ኤልያስ እያ አሻናዉ ያነኮ አነ በኦስ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: But the others said, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah comes to save Him.”
50. 50GOFEየሱሲ ናምአንꬆ ግታ ዋሶ ዋስድ፥ ሀይቅ አግስ።BSBBSB: When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He yielded up His spirit.
51. 51GOFEሄ ሳተን ፆሳ ኬꬃን ካቀትዳ ማጋራጆይ ቆሞፈ ዱገ ጋካናዉ ናምኡ ከይድ፥ ፔት ዎꬍስ። ቢታይ ቃፅስ፥ ዛላይካ ጳልቀትስ።BSBBSB: At that moment the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, and the rocks were split.
52. 52GOFEዱፎት ዶየትን ፆሳ አሳታፐ ዳሮት ሀይቆፐ ደንድዶሶና።BSBBSB: The tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised.
53. 53GOFEኤንቲ ዱፎፐ ከይድ፥ የሱሲ ሀይቆፐ ደንድዳፐ ጉየ፥ ጌሻ ካታማ ብዶሶና፤ ያን ኤንቲ ዳሮ አሳስ በንትዶሶና።BSBBSB: After Jesus’ resurrection, when they had come out of the tombs, they entered the holy city and appeared to many people.
54. 54GOFEማቶ ሀላቃይነ እያራ የሱሳ ናግያ ዎታዳረት ቢታይ ቃፅዳይሳነ ሄሳን ሀንዳባ በእዳ ዎደ ዳሮ ያይድ “ቱማ ሀይስ ፆሳ ናኣ” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified and said, “Truly this was the Son of God.”
55. 55GOFEሄሳን ዳሮ ማጫሳት፥ ጋልላፐ ዶምድ የሱሳ ሀጋዝሸ ካልዳይሳት ሃሆን ኤቅድ ፄሎሶና።BSBBSB: And many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to minister to Him.
56. 56GOFEኤንታ ግዶን ማግደላ ማይራማ፥ ያይቆባነ ዮሰፋ አይያ ማይራማነ ዛብድዮሳ ማችያ ደኦሶና።BSBBSB: Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
57. 57GOFEሳአይ ኦማርስያ ዎደ ዮሰፋ ጌተትያ እስ ዱረ አደይ፥ አርማተ ካታማፐ ይስ። እ ባ ሁጰንካ የሱሳ ካልያ አስ።BSBBSB: When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who himself was a disciple of Jesus.
58. 58GOFEዮሰፍ ጵላፆሳኮ ብድ፥ የሱሳ አሀ ኤካናዉ ዎስስ። ጵላፆስ አሀይ ዮሰፋስ እመታና መላ ኪትስ።BSBBSB: He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him.
59. 59GOFEየሱሳ አሀ ኤክድ፥ ጌሻ ሞጎ አፍላን ፃፅስ።BSBBSB: So Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60. 60GOFEባዉ ሞገታናዉ ሹቻፈ ዎጭዳ ኦራꬃ ጎንጎሎን እያ አሀ ዎꬅስ። ቃስ ሄ ጎንጎሉዋ ዶናን ግታ ሹቻ ጎንዶርስ ዎꬅድ፥ አግድ ብስ።BSBBSB: and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut into the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance to the tomb and went away.
61. 61GOFEማግደላ ማይራማነ ሀንኮ ማይራማ ሄ ጎንጎሉዋኮ ስሚድ ኡትዶሶና።BSBBSB: Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.
62. 62GOFEዎንተ ሳምባታ ጋላስ፥ ካህነ ሀላቃትነ ፋርሳወት ጵላፆሳኮ ይድ፥ ሀይሳዳ ያግዶሶና፦BSBBSB: The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and Pharisees assembled before Pilate.
63. 63GOFE“ጎዳዉ፥ ሀ ዎርዳንቾይ ፓፃ ደእሸ፥ ‘ታኒ ሄꬑ ጋላሳፐ ጉየ፥ ሀይቆፐ ደንዳና’ ያግዳይስ ኑስ ሀሳየትስ።BSBBSB: “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while He was alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’
64. 64GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ እ ሞገትዳ ጎንጎሉዋ ሄꬑ ጋላስ ጋካናዉ፥ ምንꬅ ናጋና መላ ኪታርክ። ሄስ ሀኖና እፅኮ፥ እያ ታማረት ብድ እያ አሀ ካይስ ꬋይስድ፥ ‘ሀይቆፐ ደንድስ’ ያግድ አሳስ ኦድኮ ናምአንꬆ ባለሶይ ኮይሮይሳፈ ኡባ ሃ ኢታና” ያግዶሶና።BSBBSB: So give the order that the tomb be secured until the third day. Otherwise, His disciples may come and steal Him away and tell the people He has risen from the dead. And this last deception would be worse than the first.”
65. 65GOFEጵላፆስ ኤንታኮ፥ “ህንተዉ ናገይሳት ደኦሶና፤ ብድ ህንተዉ ዳንዳኤትዳ መላ ናግስተ” ያግስ።BSBBSB: “You have a guard,” Pilate said. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.”
66. 66GOFEሄሳ ግሾ፥ ኤንቲ ብድ ዱፎይ ቦሸቶና መላ ሹቻ ቦላ ማታመ ዎꬅድ ዎታዳረታን ናግስዶሶና።BSBBSB: So they went and secured the tomb by sealing the stone and posting the guard.
