1. 1LXXΤΑΔΕ λέγει Κύριος·BSBBSB: This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet about the Philistines before Pharaoh struck down Gaza.
2. 2LXXἰδοὺ ὕδατα ἀναβαίνει ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ ἔσται εἰς χειμάρρουν κατακλύζοντα καὶ κατακλύσει γῆν καὶ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτῆς, πόλιν καὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ· καὶ κεκράξονται οἱ ἄνθρωποι, καὶ ἀλαλάξουσιν ἅπαντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν γῆν.BSBBSB: This is what the LORD says: “See how the waters are rising from the north and becoming an overflowing torrent. They will overflow the land and its fullness, the cities and their inhabitants. The people will cry out, and all who dwell in the land will wail
3. 3LXXἀπὸ φωνῆς ὁρμῆς αὐτοῦ, ἀπὸ τῶν ὁπλῶν τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ σεισμοῦ τῶν ἁρμάτων αὐτοῦ, ἤχου τροχῶν αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐπέστρεψαν πατέρες ἐφ' υἱοὺς αὐτῶν ἀπὸ ἐκλύσεως χειρῶν αὐτῶνBSBBSB: at the sound of the galloping hooves of stallions, the rumbling of chariots, and the clatter of their wheels. The fathers will not turn back for their sons; their hands will hang limp.
4. 4LXXἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἐπερχομένῃ τοῦ ἀπολέσαι πάντας τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους. καὶ ἀφανιῶ τὴν Τύρον καὶ τὴν Σιδῶνα καὶ πάντας τοὺς καταλοίπους τῆς βοηθείας αὐτῶν, ὅτι ἐξολοθρεύσει Κύριος τοὺς καταλοίπους τῶν νήσων.BSBBSB: For the day has come to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every remaining ally. Indeed, the LORD is about to destroy the Philistines, the remnant from the coasts of Caphtor.
5. 5LXXἥκει φαλάκρωμα ἐπὶ Γάζαν, ἀπερρίφη Ἀσκάλων καὶ οἱ κατάλοιποι Ἐνακίμ.BSBBSB: The people of Gaza will shave their heads in mourning; Ashkelon will be silenced. O remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourself?
6. 6LXXἕως τίνος κόψεις, ἡ μάχαιρα τοῦ Κυρίου; ἕως τίνος οὐχ ἡσυχάσεις; ἀποκατάστηθι εἰς τὸν κολεόν σου, ἀνάπαυσαι καὶ ἐπάρθητι.BSBBSB: ‘Alas, O sword of the LORD, how long until you rest? Return to your sheath; cease and be still!’
7. 7LXXπῶς ἡσυχάσει; καὶ Κύριος ἐνετείλατο αὐτῇ ἐπὶ τὴν Ἀσκάλωνα καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς παραθαλασσίους, ἐπὶ τὰς καταλοίπους, ἐπεγερθῆναι. Τῇ Ἰδουμαίᾳ Τάδε λέγει Κύριος· οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι σοφία ἐν Θαιμάν, ἀπώλετο βουλὴ ἐκ συνετῶν, ᾤχετο σοφία αὐτῶν,BSBBSB: How can it rest when the LORD has commanded it? He has appointed it against Ashkelon and the shore of its coastland.”
