1 ULB પણ પવિત્ર આત્મા સ્પષ્ટ કહે છે કે, પાછલા સમયોમાં છેતરનાર આત્માઓ પર તથા દુષ્ટાત્માઓનાં શિક્ષણ પર લક્ષ રાખી, BSB BSB: Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons,
2 ULB અસત્ય પ્રચારકો તથા જેઓનાં અંતઃકરણ જડ છે તેવા માણસોના ઢોંગથી, કેટલાક વિશ્વાસનો ત્યાગ કરશે. BSB BSB: influenced by the hypocrisy of liars, whose consciences are seared with a hot iron.
3 ULB તેઓ લગ્ન કરવાની મના કરશે અને ઈશ્વરે જે ખોરાક, ઉપકારસ્તુતિ કરીને ખાવા સારું ઉત્પન્ન કર્યો તેનાથી વિશ્વાસીઓ અને સત્ય જાણનારાંઓને દૂર રહેવાનું કહેશે. BSB BSB: They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from certain foods that God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
4 ULB ઈશ્વરનું સર્વ સર્જન સારું છે તેથી આભારસ્તુતિ સાથે સ્વીકારવું, કશું જ નકારવું નહિ BSB BSB: For every creation of God is good, and nothing that is received with thanksgiving should be rejected,
5 ULB કેમ કે ઈશ્વરના વચન તથા પ્રાર્થનાથી તે પવિત્ર કરાયું છે. BSB BSB: because it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
6 ULB આ બાબતો, ભાઈઓ સમક્ષ રજૂ કરીને તું વિશ્વાસના વચનોમાં અને જે શિક્ષણને ચોકસાઈથી અનુસરતો આવ્યો છે તેનાથી પોષિત થતો ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુનો સારો સેવક થઈશ. BSB BSB: By pointing out these things to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished by the words of faith and sound instruction that you have followed.
7 ULB પણ દુન્યવી અને મૂર્ખ દંતકથાઓથી દૂર રહી, તું પોતાને ઈશ્વરપરાયણતા માટે તાલીમ આપ; BSB BSB: But reject irreverent, silly myths. Instead, train yourself for godliness.
8 ULB કેમ કે શારીરિક કસરત અમુક અંશે ફાયદાકારક છે, પરંતુ ઈશ્વરપરાયણતા સર્વ બાબતોમાં ફાયદાકારક છે, જેમાં વર્તમાન તથા ભવિષ્યના જીવનનું આશાવચન સમાયેલ છે. BSB BSB: For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come.
9 ULB આ વિધાન વિશ્વસનીય તથા સંપૂર્ણ અંગીકાર કરવા યોગ્ય છે. BSB BSB: This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance.
10 ULB તેથી આપણે તેને સારું મહેનત તથા સંઘર્ષ કરીએ છીએ, કેમ કે આપણી આશા જીવંત ઈશ્વરમાં છે, જે સર્વ મનુષ્યોના, સવિશેષ વિશ્વાસીઓના ઉદ્ધારકર્તા છે. BSB BSB: To this end we labor and strive, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of everyone, and especially of those who believe.
11 ULB આ બાબતોનો આદેશ આપજે તથા શીખવજે. BSB BSB: Command and teach these things.
12 ULB તારી યુવાવસ્થાનો કોઈ તિરસ્કાર કરે નહિ; પણ વાણી, વર્તન, પ્રેમ, વિશ્વાસ અને પવિત્રતામાં તું વિશ્વાસીઓને નમૂનારૂપ થજે. BSB BSB: Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
13 ULB હું આવું ત્યાં સુધી જાહેર શાસ્ત્રવાંચન, બોધ આપવા તથા શિક્ષણ આપવામાં ધ્યાન આપજે. BSB BSB: Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, and to teaching.
14 ULB જે કૃપાદાન તને વડીલોના હાથ મૂકવા તથા પ્રબોધ કરવા દ્વારા આપવામાં આવ્યું હતું, તે વિષે બેદરકાર રહીશ નહિ. BSB BSB: Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given you through the prophecy spoken over you at the laying on of the hands of the elders.
15 ULB એ બાબતોનું મનન કર, તેમાં પરોવાયેલ રહે જેથી તારી પ્રગતિ સર્વને સ્પષ્ટ દેખાય. BSB BSB: Be diligent in these matters and absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all.
16 ULB પોતા પર તથા શિક્ષણ પર ધ્યાન આપ, તેમાં લાગુ રહે, કેમ કે આ પ્રમાણે કરવાથી તું પોતાને તથા તારા સાંભળનારાઓને પણ બચાવીશ. BSB BSB: Pay close attention to your life and to your teaching. Persevere in these things, for by so doing you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
