1 ULB યહોવાહનું વચન યર્મિયા પાસે આવ્યું, જ્યારે સિદકિયા રાજાએ માલ્કિયાના દીકરા પાશહૂરને તથા માસેયા યાજકના દીકરા સફાન્યાને યર્મિયાની પાસે મોકલીને કહેવડાવ્યું કે, BSB BSB: This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malchijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. They said,
2 ULB "કૃપા કરીને તું યહોવાહને અમારી તરફથી પૂછ, કેમ કે બાબિલનો રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સાર અમારી સામે યુદ્ધ કરે છે કદાચ યહોવાહ પોતાનાં સર્વ અદ્દ્ભુત કૃત્યો પ્રમાણે અમારી સાથે એવી રીતે વર્તશે કે જેથી તે રાજાને પાછા જવું પડે." BSB BSB: “Please inquire of the LORD on our behalf, since Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is waging war against us. Perhaps the LORD will perform for us something like all His past wonders, so that Nebuchadnezzar will withdraw from us.”
3 ULB ત્યારે યર્મિયાએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે, સિદકિયાને જઈને આ પ્રમાણે કહેજો કે, BSB BSB: But Jeremiah answered, “You are to tell Zedekiah that
4 ULB 'યહોવાહ ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વર આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે; "જુઓ, લડાઈનાં જે શસ્ત્રો તમારા હાથમાં છે, જે શસ્ત્રો વડે તમે કોટની બહાર તથા બાબિલના રાજાની સાથે ઘેરો ઘાલનાર ખાલદીઓ સામે લડો છો તે હું પાછાં ફેરવીશ. તેઓને આ નગરની મધ્યમાં એકઠા કરીશ. BSB BSB: this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘I will turn against you the weapons of war in your hands, with which you are fighting the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the wall, and I will assemble their forces in the center of this city.
5 ULB લાંબા કરેલા હાથથી તથા બળવાન ભુજથી ક્રોધ તથા જુસ્સાથી તથા ભારે રોષથી હું જાતે તમારી સામે લડીશ. BSB BSB: And I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm, with anger, fury, and great wrath.
6 ULB આ નગરમાં રહેનારા માણસો તથા પશુઓને હું મારી નાખીશ. તેઓ મોટી મરકીથી મૃત્યુ પામશે. BSB BSB: I will strike down the residents of this city, both man and beast. They will die in a terrible plague.’
7 ULB ત્યારબાદ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે હું યહૂદિયાના રાજા સિદકિયાને, તેના સેવકોને તથા જે લોક આ નગરમાં મરકીથી, તલવારથી તથા દુકાળથી બચ્યા છે તેઓને બાબિલના રાજા નબૂખાદનેસ્સારના હાથમાં તથા જેઓ તેનો જીવ શોધે છે તેઓના હાથમાં સોંપીશ અને તે તેઓને તલવારથી મારી નાખશે. તેમના પર તે ક્ષમા, દયા કે કરુણા દર્શાવશે નહિ. BSB BSB: ‘After that,’ declares the LORD, ‘I will hand over Zedekiah king of Judah, his officers, and the people in this city who survive the plague and sword and famine, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who seek their lives. He will put them to the sword; he will not spare them or show pity or compassion.’
8 ULB આ લોકને તારે કહેવું કે, યહોવાહ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે કે; "જુઓ, હું તમારી આગળ જીવનનો માર્ગ અને મરણનો માર્ગ બન્ને મૂકું છું. BSB BSB: Furthermore, you are to tell this people that this is what the LORD says: ‘Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
9 ULB જે કોઈ આ શહેરમાં રહેશે તે તલવારથી, દુકાળથી તથા મરકીથી મૃત્યુ પામશે, પણ જે કોઈ તેમને ઘેરો ઘાલનાર ખાલદીઓને શરણે જશે તે જીવતો રહેશે. અને તેનો જીવ તે લૂંટ તરીકે ગણશે. BSB BSB: Whoever stays in this city will die by sword and famine and plague, but whoever goes out and surrenders to the Chaldeans who besiege you will live; he will retain his life like a spoil of war.
10 ULB કેમ કે આ નગરનું ભલું નહિ, પણ વિનાશ કરવાને મેં મારું મુખ ફેરવ્યું છે' એમ યહોવાહ કહે છે. 'તેને બાબિલના રાજાના હાથમાં સોંપી દેવામાં આવશે અને તે બાળી દેવામાં આવશે. BSB BSB: For I have set My face against this city to bring disaster and not good, declares the LORD. It will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, who will destroy it with fire.’
11 ULB વળી યહૂદિયાના રાજાના વંશજો વિષે યહોવાહનું વચન સાંભળો. BSB BSB: Moreover, tell the house of the king of Judah to hear the word of the LORD.
12 ULB હે દાઉદના ઘરના, યહોવાહ કહે છે કે; સવારે ન્યાય કરો, જે માણસ જુલમીઓના હાથે લૂંટાઈ ગયો છે તેને તેના હાથમાંથી છોડાવો, રખેને તમારાં દુષ્ટ કૃત્યોને કારણે મારો રોષ અગ્નિની પેઠે સળગી ઊઠશે તેને હોલવનાર કોઈ મળશે નહિ. BSB BSB: O house of David, this is what the LORD says: ‘Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor, or My wrath will go forth like fire and burn with no one to extinguish it because of their evil deeds.
13 ULB જુઓ, હે ખીણમાં રહેનારી, હે મેદાનમાંના ખડકમાં રહેનારી હું તારી વિરુદ્ધ છું" એમ યહોવાહ કહે છે જે કોઈ કહે છે કે, કોણ મારા પર હુમલો કરી શકે એમ છે?" "અથવા કોણ અમારાં ઘરોમાં પ્રવેશી શકે એમ છે?' તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ હું છું BSB BSB: Behold, I am against you who dwell above the valley, atop the rocky plateau—declares the LORD—you who say, “Who can come against us? Who can enter our dwellings?”
14 ULB હું તમારાં કૃત્યોનાં ફળ પ્રમાણે શિક્ષા કરીશ" એમ યહોવાહ કહે છે. "હું તેના જંગલમાં અગ્નિ સળગાવીશ અને તે પોતાની આસપાસની સર્વ વસ્તુઓને બાળી નાખશે." BSB BSB: I will punish you as your deeds deserve, declares the LORD. I will kindle a fire in your forest that will consume everything around you.’”
