2 ULB હે વડીલો, તમે આ સાંભળો અને દેશના સર્વ વતનીઓ તમે પણ ધ્યાન આપો. આ તમારા સમયમાં બન્યું છે કે, તમારા પૂર્વજોના સમયમાં? BSB BSB: Hear this, O elders; and give ear, all who dwell in the land. Has anything like this ever happened in your days or in the days of your fathers?
3 ULB તમારાં સંતાનોને એ વિષે કહી સંભળાવો, અને તમારાં સંતાનો તેમના સંતાનોને કહે, અને તેઓના સંતાનો તેઓની પછીની પેઢીને તે કહી જણાવે. BSB BSB: Tell it to your children; let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation.

BSB BSB: What the devouring locust has left, the swarming locust has eaten; what the swarming locust has left, the young locust has eaten; and what the young locust has left, the destroying locust has eaten.
5 ULB હે નશાબાજો, તમે જાગો અને વિલાપ કરો; સર્વ દ્રાક્ષારસ પીનારાઓ, પોક મૂકીને રડો, કેમ કે, સ્વાદિષ્ઠ દ્રાક્ષારસ તમારા મુખમાંથી લઈ લેવાયો છે. BSB BSB: Wake up, you drunkards, and weep; wail, all you drinkers of wine, because of the sweet wine, for it has been cut off from your mouth.
6 ULB એક બળવાન પ્રજા કે જેના માણસોની સંખ્યા અગણિત છે. તે મારા દેશ પર ચઢી આવી છે. એ પ્રજાનાં દાંત સિંહના દાંત જેવા છે, તેની દાઢો સિંહણની દાઢો જેવી છે. BSB BSB: For a nation has invaded My land, powerful and without number; its teeth are the teeth of a lion, and its fangs are the fangs of a lioness.
7 ULB તેણે મારી દ્રાક્ષવાડીનો નાશ કર્યો છે અને મારી અંજીરી છોલી નાખી છે. તેણે તેની છાલ સંપૂર્ણ ઉતારી નાખી છે અને તેની ડાળીઓને સફેદ કરી નાખી છે. BSB BSB: It has laid waste My grapevine and splintered My fig tree. It has stripped off the bark and thrown it away; the branches have turned white.
8 ULB જેમ કોઈ કુમારિકા પોતાના જુવાન પતિના અવસાનથી શોકનાં વસ્ત્રો પહેરીને વિલાપ કરે છે તેમ તમે વિલાપ કરો. BSB BSB: Wail like a virgin dressed in sackcloth, grieving for the husband of her youth.
9 ULB યહોવાહના ઘરમાં ખાદ્યાર્પણો અને પેયાર્પણો આવતાં નથી. યહોવાહના સેવકો, યાજકો, શોક કરે છે. BSB BSB: Grain and drink offerings have been cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests are in mourning, those who minister before the LORD.
10 ULB ખેતરો લૂંટાઈ ગયાં છે, ભૂમિ શોક કરે છે. કેમ કે અનાજનો નાશ થયો છે. નવો દ્રાક્ષારસ સુકાઈ ગયો છે. તેલ સુકાઈ જાય છે. BSB BSB: The field is ruined; the land mourns. For the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, and the oil fails.
11 ULB હે ખેડૂતો, તમે લજ્જિત થાઓ. હે દ્રાક્ષવાડીના માળીઓ, ઘઉંને માટે તથા જવ માટે પોક મૂકો; કેમ કે ખેતરોના પાકનો નાશ થયો છે. BSB BSB: Be dismayed, O farmers, wail, O vinedressers, over the wheat and barley, because the harvest of the field has perished.
12 ULB દ્રાક્ષવેલા સુકાઈ ગયા છે અને અંજીરી પણ સુકાઈ ગઈ છે. દાડમડીના ખજૂરીનાં તેમ જ સફરજનનાં વૃક્ષોસહિત, ખેતરનાં બધાં વૃક્ષો સુકાઈ ગયાં છે. કેમ કે માનવજાતિના વંશજોમાંથી આનંદ જતો રહ્યો છે. BSB BSB: The grapevine is dried up, and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, palm, and apple—all the trees of the orchard—are withered. Surely the joy of mankind has dried up.
13 ULB હે યાજકો શોકનાં વસ્ત્રો ધારણ કરો, તમારા વસ્ત્રોને બદલે હૃદય ફાળો. હે વેદીના સેવકો, તમે બૂમ પાડીને રડો. હે મારા ઈશ્વરના સેવકો, ચાલો, શોકના વસ્ત્રોમાં સૂઈ જઈને આખી રાત પસાર કરો. કેમ કે ખાદ્યાર્પણ કે પેયાર્પણ તમારા ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં આવતાં બંધ થઈ ગયા છે. BSB BSB: Put on sackcloth and lament, O priests; wail, O ministers of the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, O ministers of my God, because the grain and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.
14 ULB પવિત્ર ઉપવાસ કરો. અને ધાર્મિક સંમેલન ભરો, વડીલોને અને દેશના સર્વ રહેવાસીઓને તમારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહના ઘરમાં ભેગા કરો, અને યહોવાહની આગળ વિલાપ કરો. BSB BSB: Consecrate a fast; proclaim a solemn assembly! Gather the elders and all the residents of the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.
15 ULB તે દિવસને માટે અફસોસ! કેમ કે યહોવાહનો દિવસ નજીક છે. તે દિવસ સર્વશક્તિમાન તરફથી વિનાશરૂપે આવશે. BSB BSB: Alas for the day! For the Day of the LORD is near, and it will come as destruction from the Almighty.
16 ULB શું આપણી નજર સામેથી જ આપણું અન્ન નાશ થયું નથી? આપણા ઈશ્વરના મંદિરમાંથી આનંદ અને ઉત્સાહ જતાં રહ્યાં નથી? BSB BSB: Has not the food been cut off before our very eyes—joy and gladness from the house of our God?
17 ULB જમીનના દગડાં નીચે બી સડી જાય છે. અનાજના પુરવઠા ખાલી થઈ ગયા છે. કોઠારો તોડી નાખવામાં આવ્યા છે. કેમ કે અનાજ સુકાઈ ગયું છે. BSB BSB: The seeds lie shriveled beneath the clods; the storehouses are in ruins; the granaries are broken down, for the grain has withered away.
18 ULB પશુઓ કેવી ચીસો પાડે છે! જાનવરોના ટોળાં નિસાસા નાખે છે. કેમ કે તેમને માટે બિલકુલ ઘાસચારો રહ્યો નથી. ઘેટાંનાં ટોળાંઓ નાશ પામે છે. BSB BSB: How the cattle groan! The herds wander in confusion because they have no pasture. Even the flocks of sheep are suffering.
19 ULB હે યહોવાહ, હું તમને વિનંતી કરું છું. કેમ કે અગ્નિએ વનનાં ગૌચરોને ભસ્મ કર્યા છે અને અગ્નિની જ્વાળાઓએ ખેતરનાં બધા વૃક્ષોને બાળી નાખ્યાં છે. BSB BSB: To You, O LORD, I call, for fire has consumed the open pastures and flames have scorched all the trees of the field.
20 ULB હા, જંગલી પશુઓ પણ હાંફીને તમને પોકારે છે, કેમ કે પાણીના વહેળાઓ સુકાઈ ગયા છે, અને અગ્નિએ વનનાં ગૌચરો ભસ્મ કર્યા છે. BSB BSB: Even the beasts of the field pant for You, for the streams of water have dried up, and fire has consumed the open pastures.
