1 ULB ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ કનાન દેશના ભાગોને વારસા તરીકે પ્રાપ્ત કર્યા, એલાઝાર યાજકે, નૂનના દીકરા યહોશુઆએ અને તેઓના પિતૃઓના કુળના આગેવાનોએ ઇઝરાયલના કુટુંબનાં લોકોને વારસા તરીકે વહેંચી આપ્યાં. BSB BSB: Now these are the portions that the Israelites inherited in the land of Canaan, as distributed by Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the families of the tribes of Israel.
2 ULB યહોવાહ મૂસાની હસ્તક નવ કુળો અને અડધા કુળ વિષે જેમ આજ્ઞા આપી હતી, તેમ તેઓને વારસા પ્રમાણે ફાળવી આપ્યાં. BSB BSB: Their inheritance was assigned by lot for the nine and a half tribes, as the LORD had commanded through Moses.
3 ULB કેમ કે મૂસાએ બે કુળને તથા અડધા કુળને યર્દન પાર વારસો આપ્યો, પણ લેવીઓને તેણે કોઈ વારસો આપ્યો નહી. BSB BSB: For Moses had given the inheritance east of the Jordan to the other two and a half tribes. But he granted no inheritance among them to the Levites.
4 ULB યૂસફનાં ખરેખર બે કુળ હતાં, એટલે મનાશ્શા તથા એફ્રાઇમ. પણ તેઓને રહેવાને માટે અમુક નગરો, જાનવર તથા તેઓની માલમિલકત અને તે સિવાય તેઓએ દેશમાં લેવીઓને કંઈ ભાગ વારસા તરીકે આપ્યો નહિ. BSB BSB: The descendants of Joseph became two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. And no portion of the land was given to the Levites, except for cities in which to live, along with pasturelands for their flocks and herds.
5 ULB જેમ યહોવાહ મૂસાને આજ્ઞા આપી હતી તેમ ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ તે દેશ વહેંચી લીધો. BSB BSB: So the Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they divided the land.
6 ULB પછી યહૂદાનું કુળ યહોશુઆ પાસે ગિલ્ગાલમાં આવ્યું. કનિઝી યફૂન્નેના દીકરા, કાલેબે તેને કહ્યું, "કાદેશ બાર્નેઆમાં ઈશ્વરભક્ત મૂસાએ તારા અને મારા વિષે જે કહ્યું હતું તે તું જાણે છે. BSB BSB: Then the sons of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh-barnea about you and me.
7 ULB જયારે યહોવાહનાં સેવક મૂસાએ દેશની જાસૂસી કરવા માટે કાદેશ બાર્નેઆથી મને મોકલ્યો ત્યારે હું ચાળીસ વર્ષનો હતો. મારા મનમાં જે વાતની ખાતરી થઈ તે પ્રમાણે હું મૂસાની પાસે અહેવાલ લઈને પાછો આવ્યો હતો. BSB BSB: I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back to him an honest report.
8 ULB પણ મારા ભાઈઓ જેઓ મારી સાથે આવ્યા હતા તેઓએ લોકોનાં હૃદય બીકથી ગભરાવી નાખ્યાં. પણ હું તો સંપૂર્ણરીતે યહોવાહ મારા પ્રભુને અનુસર્યો. BSB BSB: Although my brothers who went with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear, I remained loyal to the LORD my God.
9 ULB મૂસાએ તે દિવસે પ્રતિજ્ઞા કરી કે, 'નિશ્ચે જે ભૂમિ પર તારા પગ ફર્યા છે તે તારાં અને તારાં સંતાનોને માટે સદાકાળનો વારસો થશે, કેમ કે તું સંપૂર્ણરીતે મારા પ્રભુ યહોવાહને અનુસર્યો છે. BSB BSB: On that day Moses swore to me, saying, ‘Surely the land on which you have set foot will be an inheritance to you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’
10 ULB હવે, જો! યહોવાહ મને તેના કહ્યા પ્રમાણે આ પિસ્તાળીસ વર્ષ પર્યંત જીવતો રાખ્યો છે, એટલે ઇઝરાયલ અરણ્યમાં ચાલતા હતા, તે સમયે યહોવાહ આ વચન મૂસાને કહ્યું હતું ત્યારથી. અને આજ હું પંચ્યાસી વર્ષનો થયો છું. BSB BSB: Now behold, as the LORD promised, He has kept me alive these forty-five years since He spoke this word to Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old,
11 ULB મૂસાએ જે દિવસે મને બહાર મોકલ્યો હતો તે દિવસે જેવો હું મજબૂત હતો તેવો જ હજી આજે પણ મજબૂત છું. ત્યારે મારામાં જેટલું બળ હતું તેટલું જ બળ આજે યુદ્ધ કરવા માટે અને જવા આવવાને માટે મારામાં છે. BSB BSB: still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. As my strength was then, so it is now for war, for going out, and for coming in.
12 ULB તેથી હવે આ પર્વતીય પ્રદેશ કે જે વિષે યહોવાહ તે દિવસે મને વચન આપ્યુ હતું, તે મને આપ. કેમ કે તે દિવસે તેં સાંભળ્યું કે ત્યાં અનાકી અને તેમના મોટાં કોટવાળાં નગરો છે. યહોવાહ મારી સાથે હશે અને યહોવાહના કહ્યા પ્રમાણે હું તેઓને અહીંથી દૂર કાઢી મૂકીશ." BSB BSB: Now therefore give me this hill country that the LORD promised me on that day, for you yourself heard then that the Anakim were there, with great and fortified cities. Perhaps with the LORD’s help I will drive them out, as the LORD has spoken.”
13 ULB પછી યહોશુઆએ તેને આશીર્વાદ આપ્યો અને તેણે યફૂન્નેના પુત્ર કાલેબને હેબ્રોન વારસા તરીકે આપ્યું. BSB BSB: Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance.
14 ULB એ માટે આજ સુધી કનિઝી યફૂન્નેના દીકરા કાલેબનો વારસો હેબ્રોન છે. કેમ કે તે ઇઝરાયલના પ્રભુ, યહોવાહને સંપૂર્ણરીતે અનુસર્યો હતો. BSB BSB: Therefore Hebron belongs to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite as an inheritance to this day, because he wholly followed the LORD, the God of Israel.
15 ULB હવે હેબ્રોનનું નામ અગાઉ કિર્યાથ-આર્બા હતું. આર્બા તો અનાકીઓ મધ્યે સૌથી મોટો પુરુષ હતો અનાકીઓ મધ્યે સૌથી મોટો પુરુષ હતો. પછી દેશમાં યુદ્ધ બંધ થયાં. શાંતિનો પ્રસાર થયો. BSB BSB: (Hebron used to be called Kiriath-arba, after Arba, the greatest man among the Anakim.) Then the land had rest from war.
