3 ULB પોતાનું મોં સંભાળીને બોલનાર પોતાના જીવનું રક્ષણ કરે છે, પરંતુ જીભને છૂટી મૂકનાર વિનાશ નોતરે છે. BSB BSB: He who guards his mouth protects his life, but the one who opens his lips invites his own ruin.
4 ULB આળસુનો જીવ ઇચ્છા કરે છે, પણ કશું પામતો નથી, પણ ઉદ્યમી વ્યક્તિ પૂર્ણ રીતે સંતુષ્ટ હોય છે. BSB BSB: The slacker craves yet has nothing, but the soul of the diligent is fully satisfied.
5 ULB સદાચારી માણસ જૂઠને ધિક્કારે છે, પણ દુષ્ટ માણસ અપમાન અને ફજેતીનો ભોગ બને છે. BSB BSB: The righteous hate falsehood, but the wicked bring shame and disgrace.
6 ULB નેકી ભલા માણસોનું રક્ષણ કરે છે; પણ દુષ્ટતા પાપીઓને ઉથલાવી નાખે છે, BSB BSB: Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness undermines the sinner.
7 ULB કેટલાક કશું ન હોવા છતાં ધનવાન હોવાનો દંભ કરે છે અને કેટલાક એવા પણ છે કે જેઓ કંગાળ હોવા છતાં ધનવાન હોય છે. BSB BSB: One pretends to be rich, but has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.
8 ULB દ્રવ્યવાનના જીવનો બદલો તેનું દ્રવ્ય છે, પણ ગરીબ વ્યક્તિને ધમકી સાંભળવી પડતી નથી. BSB BSB: Riches may ransom a man’s life, but a poor man hears no threat.
9 ULB નેકીવાનોનો પ્રકાશ આનંદ છે, પણ દુષ્ટનો દીવો હોલવી નાંખવામાં આવશે. BSB BSB: The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is extinguished.
10 ULB અભિમાનથી તો કેવળ ઝઘડો જ ઉત્પન્ન થાય છે; પણ સારી સલાહ માનનારાઓ પાસે ડહાપણ છે. BSB BSB: Arrogance leads only to strife, but wisdom is with the well-advised.
11 ULB કુમાર્ગે મેળવેલી સંપત્તિ કદી ટકતી નથી. પણ મહેનતથી સંગ્રહ કરેલી સંપત્તિની વૃદ્ધિ થાય છે. BSB BSB: Dishonest wealth will dwindle, but what is earned through hard work will be multiplied.
12 ULB આશાનું ફળ મળવામાં વિલંબ થતાં અંતઃકરણ ઝૂરે છે, પણ ઇચ્છાઓની પરિપૂર્ણતા જ જીવન છે. BSB BSB: Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
13 ULB શિખામણને નકારનારનો નાશ થાય છે, પણ આજ્ઞાઓનો આદર કરનારને બદલો મળે છે. BSB BSB: He who despises instruction will pay the penalty, but the one who respects a command will be rewarded.
14 ULB જ્ઞાનીનું શિક્ષણ જીવનનો ઝરો છે, જે તે વ્યક્તિને મૃત્યુના ફાંદામાંથી ઉગારી લે છે. BSB BSB: The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, turning one from the snares of death.
15 ULB સારી સમજવાળાને કૃપા મળે છે, પણ કપટીનો માર્ગ ખરબચડો છે. BSB BSB: Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the faithless is difficult.
16 ULB પ્રત્યેક ડાહ્યો માણસ ડહાપણથી નિર્ણય લે છે; પણ મૂર્ખ પોતાની મૂર્ખાઈ જાહેર કરે છે. BSB BSB: Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool displays his folly.
17 ULB દુષ્ટ સંદેશાવાહક મુશ્કેલીમાં સપડાઈ જાય છે, પણ વિશ્વાસુ સંદેશવાહક સમાધાન લાવે છે. BSB BSB: A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings healing.
18 ULB જે શિખામણનો ત્યાગ કરે છે તેને ગરીબી અને અપમાન પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે, પણ ઠપકાનો સ્વીકાર કરે છે તેને માન મળે છે. BSB BSB: Poverty and shame come to him who ignores discipline, but whoever heeds correction is honored.
19 ULB ઇચ્છાની તૃપ્તિ આત્માને મીઠી લાગે છે, પણ દુષ્ટતાથી પાછા વળવું એ મૂર્ખોને આઘાતજનક લાગે છે. BSB BSB: Desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but turning from evil is detestable to fools.
20 ULB જો તું જ્ઞાની માણસોની સંગત કરશે, તો તું જ્ઞાની થશે. પણ જે મૂર્ખની સોબત કરે છે તેને નુકસાન થશે. BSB BSB: He who walks with the wise will become wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.
21 ULB પાપીઓની પાછળ નુકસાન લાગેલું રહે છે, પણ જે સારા માણસો છે તેઓને હિતકારક બદલો મળશે. BSB BSB: Disaster pursues sinners, but prosperity is the reward of the righteous.
22 ULB સારો માણસ પોતાનાં સંતાનોનાં સંતાનોને માટે વારસો મૂકી જાય છે, પણ પાપીનું ધન નેકીવાનને સારુ ભરી મૂકવામાં આવે છે. BSB BSB: A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is passed to the righteous.
23 ULB ગરીબોના ખેતરમાં ઘણું અનાજ ઊપજે છે, પણ અન્યાયના કારણથી નાશ પામનારા માણસો પણ છે. BSB BSB: Abundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor, but without justice it is swept away.
24 ULB જે પોતાના બાળકને શિસ્તપાલનની કેળવણી માટે સોટી મારતો નથી તે પોતાના બાળકનો દુશ્મન છે; પણ તેના પર પ્રીતિ કરનાર તેને વેળાસર શિક્ષા કરે છે. BSB BSB: He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.
25 ULB નેકીવાન પોતાને સંતોષ થતાં સુધી ખાય છે, પણ દુષ્ટનું પેટ હંમેશાં ભૂખ્યુંને ભૂખ્યું જ રહે છે. BSB BSB: A righteous man eats to his heart’s content, but the stomach of the wicked is empty.
