3 HGLT और यदि मैं अपनी सारी सम्पत्ति बाँट दूँ, और यदि मैं अपनी देह को जलाने के लिए सौंप दूँ ताकि मैं घमण्ड कर सकूँ, परन्तु मुझ में प्रेम न हो, तो मुझे कुछ भी लाभ नहीं। BSB BSB: If I give all I possess to the poor and exult in the surrender of my body, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 HGLT प्रेम धीरजवन्त है{ और} कृपालु है; प्रेम डाह नहीं करता; प्रेम गर्व नहीं करता; यह फूलता नहीं है। BSB BSB: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

7 HGLT यह सब कुछ सह लेता है, सब बातों पर विश्वास करता है, सब बातों की आशा रखता है, सब बातों में धीरज धरता है। BSB BSB: It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 HGLT प्रेम कभी असफल नहीं होता। परन्तु यदि भविष्यवाणियाँ हैं, तो वे समाप्त हो जाएँगी; यदि भाषाएँ हैं, तो वे मौन हो जाएँगी; यदि ज्ञान है, तो वह मिट जाएगा। BSB BSB: Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed.
9 HGLT क्योंकि हम तो अधूरे रूप से जानते हैं, और हम अधूरी तरह से भविष्यद्वाणी करते हैं। BSB BSB: For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
