7 HGLT और केवल उसके आ पहुँचने के द्वारा ही नहीं, बल्कि तुम्हारी लालसा, तुम्हारे शोक,{ और} मेरे निमित्त तुम्हारी धुन के विषय में हमें समाचार देकर उस शांति के द्वारा भी हमें शांति दी जो उसे तुम्हारे द्वारा मिली थी, ताकि मैं और भी अधिक आनन्दित हो जाऊँ। BSB BSB: and not only by his arrival, but also by the comfort he had received from you. For you felt the sorrow that God had intended, and so were not harmed in any way by us.
10 HGLT क्योंकि परमेश्वर के प्रति आदरभाव के साथ दुःख बिना पछतावे के उद्धार की ओर पश्चाताप का कार्य करता है। परन्तु सांसारिक दुःख मृत्यु को उत्पन्न करता है। BSB BSB: Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.
11 HGLT क्योंकि देखो, इसी बात ने परमेश्वर के प्रति आदरभाव में दुःखी करके तुम्हारे भीतर कितनी तत्परता उत्पन्न कर दी है: कैसा प्रत्युत्तर, कैसा रोष, कैसा भय, कैसी लालसा, कैसी धुन,{ और} कैसी प्रमाणिकता! इस मामले में तुम स्वयं को हर बात में शुद्ध साबित करते हो। BSB BSB: Consider what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what zeal, what vindication! In every way you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
12 HGLT इसलिए यद्यपि तुमको यह मैंने ही लिखा था, परन्तु{ यह} न तो उस व्यक्ति के निमित्त लिखा गया था जिसने गलत काम किया, और न ही उस व्यक्ति के निमित्त लिखा गया जिसने उस गलत काम को सहा, बल्कि इसलिए कि मेरे लिए तुम्हारी जो तत्परता है वह परमेश्वर के सामने तुम पर प्रकट हो जाए। BSB BSB: So even though I wrote to you, it was not on account of the one who did wrong or the one who was harmed, but rather that your earnestness on our behalf would be made clear to you in the sight of God.
13 HGLT इस कारण से हम उत्साहित हो गए हैं। अब तुम्हारे स्वयं के उत्साह के साथ- साथ, हम तीतुस के आनन्द से और भी अधिक इसलिए आनन्दित हुए हैं, क्योंकि तुम सब के द्वारा उसकी आत्मा तरोताज़ा हो गई है। BSB BSB: On account of this, we are encouraged. In addition to our own encouragement, we were even more delighted by the joy of Titus. For his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.
14 HGLT क्योंकि यदि उसके सामने मैंने तुम्हारे विषय में कुछ घमंड किया, तो मैं लज्जित न हुआ, परन्तु जिस प्रकार से हमने तुम से सब कुछ सच- सच कह दिया था, उसी प्रकार से हमारा घमंड करना भी तीतुस पर सच हो गया। BSB BSB: Indeed, I was not embarrassed by anything I had boasted to him about you. But just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting to Titus has proved to be true as well.
15 HGLT और तुम सब की आज्ञाकारिता को स्मरण करके, कि तुम लोगों ने कैसे डरते और कांपते हुए उससे भेंट की, वह तुम्हारे प्रति और भी अधिक स्नेह रखता है। BSB BSB: And his affection for you is even greater when he remembers that you were all obedient as you welcomed him with fear and trembling.
16 HGLT मैं आनन्दित हूँ कि मुझे सब बातों में तुम पर भरोसा है। BSB BSB: I rejoice that I can have complete confidence in you.
