The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.

17 HGLT वह पौलुस और हमारे पीछे आकर, यह कहकर चिल्लाने लगी,“ये मनुष्य परमप्रधान परमेश्वर के सेवक हैं जो तुम पर उद्धार के मार्ग की घोषणा कर रहे हैं।” BSB BSB: This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!”
18 HGLT और वह कई दिनों तक ऐसा ही करती रही। परन्तु पौलुस ने तंग आकर और पीछे मुड़कर, उस आत्मा से कहा,“मैं तुझे यीशु मसीह के नाम से उसमें से निकल जाने की आज्ञा देता हूँ।” और उसी घड़ी वह निकल गई। BSB BSB: She continued this for many days. Eventually Paul grew so aggravated that he turned and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” And the spirit left her at that very moment.
19 HGLT परन्तु उसके स्वामियों ने, यह देखकर कि उनके लाभ की आशा चली गई थी, पौलुस और सीलास को पकड़कर, उन्हें घसीटते हुए चौक में शासकों के पास ले गए। BSB BSB: When the girl’s owners saw that their hope of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities in the marketplace.

25 HGLT परन्तु आधी रात के लगभग, पौलुस और सीलास प्रार्थना करते हुए, परमेश्वर के भजन गा रहे थे, और कैदी उन्हें सुन रहे थे। BSB BSB: About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
26 HGLT और अचानक एक बड़ा भूकम्प हुआ, जिससे कि बन्दीगृह की नींव हिल गई, और तुरन्त सब द्वार खुल गए, और सब की जंजीरें खुल गईं। BSB BSB: Suddenly a strong earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. At once all the doors flew open and everyone’s chains came loose.
27 HGLT परन्तु दारोगा जाग उठा, और बन्दीगृह के द्वार खुले देखकर,{ अपनी} तलवार खींचकर, यह सोचकर कि बन्दी भाग गए हैं, वह स्वयं को मार डालने वाला था। BSB BSB: When the jailer woke up and saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, presuming that the prisoners had escaped.
28 HGLT परन्तु पौलुस ऊँची आवाज में यह कहकर चिल्लाया,“स्वयं को हानि मत पहुँचा, क्योंकि हम सब यहीं हैं।” BSB BSB: But Paul called out in a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself! We are all here!”
29 HGLT अत: तब दीये मँगवाकर, वह भीतर भागा और, डरते हुए, वह पौलुस और सीलास के आगे गिर पड़ा, BSB BSB: Calling for lights, the jailer rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.

32 HGLT और उन्होंने उसके घर के सब लोगों समेत, उसको प्रभु का वचन सुनाया। BSB BSB: Then Paul and Silas spoke the word of the Lord to him and to everyone in his house.
33 HGLT और रात के उसी समय वह उन्हें लेकर गया, और उनके घावों को धोया, और उसी घड़ी उसने और उसके सब घरवालों ने बपतिस्मा लिया। BSB BSB: At that hour of the night, the jailer took them and washed their wounds. And without delay, he and all his household were baptized.

36 HGLT और दारोगा ने पौलुस को इन बातों का समाचार दिया,“न्यायाधीशों ने लोगों को भेजा है कि तुम्हें छोड़ दिया जाए। इस कारण, अब बाहर निकलकर, शान्ति से जाओ।” BSB BSB: The jailer informed Paul: “The magistrates have sent orders to release you. Now you may go on your way in peace.”
37 HGLT परन्तु पौलुस ने उनसे कहा,“बिना मुकदमे के हमें जो रोमी लोग हैं, सबके सामने पीटकर, उन्होंने हमें बन्दीगृह में डाल दिया, और अब वे हमें चुपके से निकाल देते हैं? बिलकुल नहीं! इसके बजाय, वे स्वयं आकर, हमें बाहर ले जाएँ।” BSB BSB: But Paul said to the officers, “They beat us publicly without a trial and threw us into prison, even though we are Roman citizens. And now do they want to send us away secretly? Absolutely not! Let them come themselves and escort us out!”
