4 HGLT तो क्या तुम ने आपस में भेदभाव न किया और दुष्ट विचारों वाले न्यायी न ठहरे? BSB BSB: have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 HGLT मेरे प्रिय भाइयों, सुनो, क्या परमेश्वर ने संसार के निर्धन को विश्वास में धनी और उस राज्य का अधिकारी होने के लिए नहीं चुना जिसकी प्रतिज्ञा उसने उनसे की है जो उससे प्रेम रखते हैं? BSB BSB: Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?
6 HGLT लेकिन तुम ने निर्धन का अपमान किया! क्या धनी तुम पर प्रबल नहीं होते और स्वयं ही तुम्हें कचहरी में घसीटते हैं। BSB BSB: But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who oppress you and drag you into court?
7 HGLT क्या वे अच्छे नाम की निन्दा नहीं करते जिससे तुम को पुकारा गया था? BSB BSB: Are they not the ones who blaspheme the noble name by which you have been called?
8 HGLT तौभी, यदि, तुम उस राज व्यवस्था को पवित्रशास्त्र के अनुसार पूरी करते हो, कि“तू अपने पड़ोसी से अपने समान प्रेम रखना,” तो अच्छा करते हो। BSB BSB: If you really fulfill the royal law stated in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.
9 HGLT परन्तु यदि तुम पक्षपात करते हो, तो तुम व्यवस्था के द्वारा अपराधी जैसे ठहराए जाने से पाप कर रहे हो। BSB BSB: But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
10 HGLT क्योंकि जो कोई सारी व्यवस्था का पालन करे परन्तु एक ही बात में ठोकर खाए तो वह सब बातों में दोषी ठहरा है। BSB BSB: Whoever keeps the whole law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
11 HGLT इसलिए कि जिसने यह कहा,“व्यभिचार न करना,” उसी ने यह भी कहा,“हत्या न करना।” यदि, तुम व्यभिचार तो नहीं करते परन्तु हत्या करते हो, तो तुम व्यवस्था के अपराधी बन गए हो। BSB BSB: For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.
12 HGLT जैसा बोलो वैसा ही काम करो, उन लोगों के समान जिनका न्याय स्वतंत्रता की व्यवस्था के माध्यम से किया जाने वाला है। BSB BSB: Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom.
13 HGLT क्योंकि न्याय उन लोगों के लिए दयारहित है जिन्होंने दया नहीं की थी। दया न्याय के विरोध में दावा करती है। BSB BSB: For judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
15 HGLT यदि कोई भाई या बहन बिना कपड़ों के और प्रतिदिन के भोजन की घटी में हो, BSB BSB: Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 HGLT और तुम में से कोई उनसे कहे,“शान्ति से जाओ, अपने आप को गरम रखो और तृप्त रहो,” परन्तु तुम ने उनको देह के लिये आवश्यक वस्तुएँ नहीं दीं, तो क्या लाभ होगा? BSB BSB: If one of you tells him, “Go in peace; stay warm and well fed,” but does not provide for his physical needs, what good is that?
17 HGLT उसी प्रकार से विश्वास भी अपने आप में, यदि उसमें कर्म न हों, तो मरा हुआ है। BSB BSB: So too, faith by itself, if it does not result in action, is dead.
18 HGLT परन्तु कोई कहेगा कि,“तू विश्वास करता है, और मैं कर्म करता हूँ।” तू अपना विश्वास मुझे कर्म बिना दिखा; और मैं अपना विश्वास कर्मों के द्वारा तुझे दिखाऊँगा। BSB BSB: But someone will say, “You have faith and I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
20 HGLT परन्तु हे मूर्ख मनुष्य, क्या तू यह जानना चाहता है, कि कर्म बिना विश्वास व्यर्थ है? BSB BSB: O foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is worthless?
21 HGLT क्या हमारा पिता अब्राहम कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी नहीं ठहराया गया था जब उसने अपने पुत्र इसहाक को वेदी पर चढ़ाया था? BSB BSB: Was not our father Abraham justified by what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
22 HGLT तुम देखते हो कि विश्वास उसके कर्मों के साथ मिलकर काम कर रहा था और कर्मों के द्वारा विश्वास सिद्ध हुआ था। BSB BSB: You see that his faith was working with his actions, and his faith was perfected by what he did.
23 HGLT और पवित्रशास्त्र पूरा हुआ जो कहता है कि,“और अब्राहम ने परमेश्वर पर विश्वास किया, और यह उसके लिये धार्मिकता गिना गया था,” और उसे परमेश्वर का मित्र कहा गया था। BSB BSB: And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.
25 HGLT और इसी रीति से राहाब वेश्या भी क्या कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी नहीं ठहराई गई थी, जब उसने दूतों का स्वागत किया था और उन्हें दूसरे मार्ग से विदा किया था? BSB BSB: In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute justified by her actions when she welcomed the spies and sent them off on another route?
26 HGLT इसलिए जिस प्रकार से आत्मा के बिना देह मरी हुई है, उसी प्रकार से विश्वास भी कर्म के बिना मरा हुआ है। BSB BSB: As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
