2 HGLT (यद्यपि यीशु स्वयं नहीं, परन्तु उसके चेले बपतिस्मा दे रहे थे), BSB BSB: (although it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples),
3 HGLT तो उसने यहूदिया को छोड़ दिया और फिर से वापस गलील को चला गया। BSB BSB: He left Judea and returned to Galilee.
4 HGLT अब उसके लिए सामरिया से होकर जाना आवश्यक था। BSB BSB: Now He had to pass through Samaria.
5 HGLT तब वह सूखार नामक, सामरिया के एक नगर के निकट आया, जो उस भूमि के टुकड़े के समीप है जिसे याकूब ने अपने पुत्र यूसुफ को दिया था। BSB BSB: So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.
6 HGLT अब याकूब का कुआँ भी वहीं था। फिर यीशु, अपनी यात्रा से थका हुआ, उस कुएँ के बिलकुल बगल में बैठा हुआ था। यह लगभग छठे घंटे का समय था। BSB BSB: Since Jacob’s well was there, Jesus, weary from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 HGLT सामरिया की एक स्त्री जल भरने को आई। यीशु उससे कहता है,“मुझे पीने के लिए पानी दे।” BSB BSB: When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
8 HGLT क्योंकि उसके चेले नगर में इसलिए चले गए थे ताकि वे भोजन खरीद सकें। BSB BSB: (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9 HGLT तब वह सामरी स्त्री उससे कहती है,“तू, एक यहूदी होकर, मुझ सामरी स्त्री से, पीने के लिए पानी क्यों माँगता है?”(क्योंकि सामरियों के साथ यहूदी लोग कोई व्यवहार नहीं रखते थे।) BSB BSB: “You are a Jew,” said the woman. “How can You ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)
10 HGLT यीशु ने उत्तर दिया और उससे कहा,“यदि तू परमेश्वर के वरदान को जानती, कि वह कौन है जो तुझ से कह रहा है‘मुझे पीने के लिए पानी दे,’ तो तू उससे माँगती, और वह तुझे जीवन का जल देता।” BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
11 HGLT वह स्त्री उससे कहती है,“हे महोदय, तेरे पास न तो कोई बरतन है और यह कुआँ भी गहरा है। फिर तेरे पास जीवन का जल कहाँ से आया? BSB BSB: “Sir,” the woman replied, “You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where then will You get this living water?
12 HGLT तू हमारे पिता याकूब से बढ़कर तो नहीं है, क्या तू है, जिसने हमें यह कुआँ दिया और स्वयं उसने, और उसके पुत्रों ने और उसके पशुओं ने भी इससे पिया?” BSB BSB: Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock?”
13 HGLT यीशु ने उत्तर दिया और उससे कहा,“हर एक जन जो इस पानी में से पीता है वह फिर से प्यासा होगा, BSB BSB: Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.
14 HGLT परन्तु जो कोई भी उस जल में से पीए जो मैं उसे दूँगा वह फिर कभी अनन्तकाल तक के लिए प्यासा नहीं होगा। बजाए इसके, जो जल मैं उसे दूँगा वह उसमें से पानी को झरना बन जाएगा, जो अनन्त जीवन के लिये उमड़ता रहेगा।” BSB BSB: But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”
15 HGLT वह स्त्री उससे कहती है,“हे महोदय, यह जल मुझे दे ताकि मैं प्यासी न होऊँ और जल भरने के लिए मुझे यहाँ आना न पड़े।” BSB BSB: The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I will not get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
16 HGLT वह उससे कहता है,“जाकर अपने पति को बुला ले, और यहाँ आ।” BSB BSB: Jesus told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”
17 HGLT उस स्त्री ने उत्तर दिया और उससे कहा,“मेरा कोई पति नहीं है।” यीशु उससे कहता है,“तूने ठीक कहा,‘मेरा कोई पति नहीं है,’ BSB BSB: “I have no husband,” the woman replied. Jesus said to her, “You are correct to say that you have no husband.
18 HGLT क्योंकि तूने पाँच पति किए हैं, और इस समय जो तेरे पास है वह भी तेरा पति नहीं है। यह जो तूने कहा सत्य ही है।” BSB BSB: In fact, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. You have spoken truthfully.”
19 HGLT वह स्त्री उससे कहती है,“हे महोदय, मुझे लगता है कि तू कोई भविष्यद्वक्ता है। BSB BSB: “Sir,” the woman said, “I see that You are a prophet.
21 HGLT यीशु उससे कहता है,“हे स्त्री, मेरा विश्वास कर, कि ऐसा समय आ रहा है कि जब तुम न तो इस पहाड़ पर और न ही यरूशलेम में पिता की आराधना करोगे। BSB BSB: “Believe Me, woman,” Jesus replied, “a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
23 HGLT हालाँकि, वह समय आ रहा है, और अभी है, जब सच्चे आराधक पिता की आराधना आत्मा और सच्चाई में होकर करेंगे, क्योंकि पिता भी ऐसे लोगों की खोज कर रहा है जो उसकी आराधना कर रहे हैं। BSB BSB: But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.

26 HGLT यीशु उससे कहता है,“मैं वही हूँ, जो तुझ से बातें कर रहा है।” BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “I who speak to you am He.”
27 HGLT और इतने में, उसके चेले आ गए, और वे अचम्भित थे कि वह एक स्त्री से बातें कर रहा था। फिर भी, किसी ने नहीं कहा,“तू क्या ढूँढ़ रहा है?” या“तू उससे बातें क्यों कर रहा है?” BSB BSB: Just then His disciples returned and were surprised that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
28 HGLT फिर वह स्त्री अपना पानी का मटका छोड़कर वापस नगर में चली गई, और लोगों से कहती है, BSB BSB: Then the woman left her water jar, went back into the town, and said to the people,
29 HGLT “आओ, एक व्यक्ति को देखो जिसने मुझे वह सारी बातें बता दीं, जो- जो मैंने की थीं। यह मसीह तो नहीं है, क्या यह है?” BSB BSB: “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
30 HGLT वे नगर से निकलकर उसके पास आए। BSB BSB: So they left the town and made their way toward Jesus.
31 HGLT इसी बीच में, चेले उससे यह कहकर आग्रह कर रहे थे,“हे रब्बी, खा ले।” BSB BSB: Meanwhile the disciples urged Him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
32 HGLT परन्तु उसने उनसे कहा,“मेरे पास खाने के लिए जो भोजन है उसके बारे में तुम नहीं जानते।” BSB BSB: But He told them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
33 HGLT इसलिए चेलों ने एक- दूसरे से कहा,“कोई भी उसके पास खाने को कुछ लेकर नहीं आया है, क्या वे लाए हैं?” BSB BSB: So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?”
34 HGLT यीशु उनसे कहता है,“मेरा भोजन यह है कि मैं उसकी इच्छा का पालन करूँ जिसने मुझे भेजा है और उसके काम को पूरा करूँ। BSB BSB: Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.
35 HGLT क्या तुम ही नहीं कहते हो,‘अभी चार महीने और पड़े हैं, और फिर कटाई का समय आएगा’? देखो, मैं तुम से कहता हूँ, कि अपनी आँखों को उठाकर खेतों को देखो, क्योंकि वे पहले से ही कटनी के लिए सफेद हो चुके हैं! BSB BSB: Do you not say, ‘There are still four months until the harvest’? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.
36 HGLT जो कटाई कर रहा है वह मजदूरी पाता है और अनन्त जीवन के लिए फल जमा करता है, ताकि वह जो बोता है और वह जो काटता है मिलकर आनन्द करें। BSB BSB: Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.
37 HGLT क्योंकि इसमें वह कहावत सच होती है,‘एक जन बोनेवाला है, और दूसरा, काटनेवाला है।’ BSB BSB: For in this case the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.
38 HGLT मैंने तुम को उसकी कटाई करने के लिए भेजा जिसके लिए तुम ने मेहनत नहीं की। दूसरों ने मेहनत की, और तुम ने उनकी मेहनत में भागीदारी कर ली। BSB BSB: I sent you to reap what you have not worked for; others have done the hard work, and now you have taken up their labor.”
39 HGLT अब उस नगर के रहने वाले बहुत से सामरियों ने उस स्त्री की खबर के कारण उस पर विश्वास किया, जो गवाही दे रही थी,“उसने मुझे वह सब कुछ बता दिया जो मैंने किया था।” BSB BSB: Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
40 HGLT अतः जब वे सामरिया के निवासी उसके पास आए, तो उन्होंने उससे उनके पास रुकने की विनती की, और वह वहाँ दो दिन तक रहा। BSB BSB: So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.
41 HGLT और उसके वचन के कारण और भी बहुतों ने विश्वास किया। BSB BSB: And many more believed because of His message.
42 HGLT और उन्होंने उस स्त्री से कहा,“जो तूने कहा था अब हम केवल उसके कारण ही विश्वास नहीं करते, क्योंकि हम ने स्वयं ही सुन लिया है, और हम जानते हैं कि यही सचमुच में संसार का उद्धारकर्ता है।” BSB BSB: They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.”
43 HGLT अब उन दो दिनों के बाद, वह वहाँ से गलील में चला गया। BSB BSB: After two days, Jesus left for Galilee.
44 HGLT क्योंकि यीशु ने स्वयं ही गवाही दी थी कि भविष्यद्वक्ता को{ अपने} स्वयं के देश में सम्मान नहीं मिलता। BSB BSB: Now He Himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.
45 HGLT इसलिए जब वह गलील में आया, तो गलीलवासियों ने उसका स्वागत किया। उन्होंने उन सब कामों को देखा था जो उसने यरूशलेम में पर्व के समय किए थे, क्योंकि वे भी पर्व में गए थे। BSB BSB: Yet when He arrived, the Galileans welcomed Him. They had seen all the great things He had done in Jerusalem at the feast, for they had gone there as well.
46 HGLT तब वह फिर से गलील के काना में आया, जहाँ उसने पानी को दाखरस बनाया था, और वहाँ एक राजसी अधिकारी था जिसका पुत्र कफरनहूम में बीमार था। BSB BSB: So once again He came to Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.
47 HGLT यह सुनकर कि यीशु यहूदिया से गलील में आया है, वह उसके पास गया और विनती की कि वह नीचे आए और उसके पुत्र को चंगा कर दे, क्योंकि वह मरने पर था। BSB BSB: When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Him to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.
48 HGLT तब यीशु ने उससे कहा,“जब तक तुम चिन्हों और आश्चर्यकर्मों को न देख लो, तब तक तुम विश्वास न करोगे।” BSB BSB: Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe.”
49 HGLT वह राजसी अधिकारी उससे कहता है,“हे महोदय, मेरे बालक की मृत्यु होने से पहले नीचे चल।” BSB BSB: “Sir,” the official said, “come down before my child dies.”
50 HGLT यीशु उससे कहता है,“जा। तेरा पुत्र जीवित है।” उस व्यक्ति ने उस वचन पर विश्वास किया जो यीशु ने उससे कहा था, और वह चला गया। BSB BSB: “Go,” said Jesus. “Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed.
51 HGLT अब जिस समय वह नीचे जा ही रहा था, उसके दास उससे आ मिले और यह कहकर उसे खबर दी कि उसका पुत्र जीवित है। BSB BSB: And while he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.
52 HGLT अतः उसने उनसे उस घंटे के बारे में पूछा जिसमें उसमें सुधार होने लगा था। अतः, उन्होंने उसे प्रतिउत्तर दिया,“कल सातवें घंटे में उसका बुखार उतर गया था।” BSB BSB: So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.”
53 HGLT तब उस पिता ने जान लिया कि यह उसी घंटे में हुआ था जिसमें यीशु ने उससे कहा था,“तेरा पुत्र जीवित है।” और स्वयं उसने तथा उसके सारे घराने ने विश्वास किया। BSB BSB: Then the father realized that this was the very hour in which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and all his household believed.
54 HGLT अब यहूदिया से निकल कर गलील में आने के बाद, यीशु ने फिर से यह दूसरा चिन्ह प्रकट किया था। BSB BSB: This was now the second sign that Jesus performed after coming from Judea into Galilee.
