But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends with the message: “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy to have You come under my roof.
7 HGLT इसी कारण से मैंने अपने आप को इस योग्य भी न समझा कि तेरे पास आऊँ। परन्तु वचन ही कह दे कि मेरा सेवक चंगा हो जाए। BSB BSB: That is why I did not consider myself worthy to come to You. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8 HGLT क्योंकि मैं भी एक ऐसा मनुष्य हूँ जिसे अधिकार के तले रखा गया है, और सैनिक मेरे अधीन हैं, और मैं इससे कहता हूँ,‘जा,’ और वह चला जाता है, और किसी दूसरे से,‘आ,’ और वह आता है; और अपने दास से,‘यह कर,’ और वह उसे करता है।” BSB BSB: For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes, and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”

And a large crowd from the town was with her.

15 HGLT और वह मृत व्यक्ति उठ बैठा और बोलने लगा, और उसने उसे उसकी माँ को सौंप दिया। BSB BSB: And the dead man sat up and began to speak! Then Jesus gave him back to his mother.
16 HGLT और वे सब के सब भयभीत हो गए, और वे यह कहकर, परमेश्वर की प्रशंसा कर रहे थे,“हमारे बीच में एक बड़ा भविष्यद्वक्ता उठा है” और“परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों पर कृपादृष्टि की है।” BSB BSB: A sense of awe swept over all of them, and they glorified God. “A great prophet has appeared among us!” they said. “God has visited His people!”
17 HGLT और उसके विषय में यह बात सारे यहूदिया और आसपास के सम्पूर्ण प्रदेश में फैल गई। BSB BSB: And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and all the surrounding region.
18 HGLT और यूहन्ना को उसके चेलों ने इन सब बातों के विषय में सूचना दी। और अपने चेलों में से दो को बुलाकर, यूहन्ना ने BSB BSB: Then John’s disciples informed him about all these things.
19 HGLT प्रभु के पास यह पूछने के लिये भेजा,“क्या वह तू ही है जो आनेवाला है, या हम किसी दूसरे की अपेक्षा करें?” BSB BSB: So John called two of his disciples and sent them to ask the Lord, “Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”
20 HGLT और जब वे उसके पास आए, तो उन मनुष्यों ने कहा,“यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देनेवाले ने हमें तेरे पास यह पूछने को भेजा है,‘क्या वह तू ही है जो आनेवाला है, या हम किसी दूसरे की अपेक्षा करें?’” BSB BSB: When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to ask, ‘Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?’”
21 HGLT उसी घड़ी उसने बहुतों को बीमारियों से और पीड़ाओं से और बुरी आत्माओं से चंगा किया, और बहुत से अंधे लोगों को दृष्टि प्रदान की। BSB BSB: At that very hour Jesus healed many people of their diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and He gave sight to many who were blind.

BSB BSB: After John’s messengers had left, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swaying in the wind?
25 HGLT परन्तु तुम फिर क्या देखने गए थे? क्या कोमल वस्त्र पहने हुए मनुष्य को? देखो, जो मूल्यवान वस्त्र पहनते, और विलासता से जीवन जीते हैं वे राजमहलों में रहते हैं। BSB BSB: Otherwise, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who wear elegant clothing and live in luxury are found in palaces.
26 HGLT परन्तु तुम फिर क्या देखने गए थे? किसी भविष्यद्वक्ता को? हाँ, मैं तुम से कहता हूँ, वरन् भविष्यद्वक्ता से भी बड़े को। BSB BSB: What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
27 HGLT यह वही है जिसके विषय में यह लिखा गया है,‘देख, मैं अपने सन्देशवाहक को तेरे आगे भेजता हूँ, जो तेरे आगे तेरा मार्ग तैयार करेगा।’ BSB BSB: This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’
28 HGLT “मैं तुम से कहता हूँ, कि जो स्त्रियों से जन्मे हैं, उनमें से यूहन्ना से बड़ा कोई भी नहीं है, परन्तु जो परमेश्वर के राज्य में छोटे से छोटा है, वह उससे भी बड़ा है।” BSB BSB: I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John, yet even the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
29 HGLT (और चुंगी लेनेवालों समेत, सब लोगों ने जिन्होंने सुना था, यूहन्ना के जल- संस्कार का बपतिस्मा लेकर, परमेश्वर को धर्मी मान लिया था। BSB BSB: All the people who heard this, even the tax collectors, acknowledged God’s justice. For they had received the baptism of John.
30 HGLT परन्तु फरीसियों और व्यवस्थापकों ने, उससे बपतिस्मा न लेकर, उनके लिए परमेश्वर के उद्देश्य को अस्वीकृत कर दिया।) BSB BSB: But the Pharisees and experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.
31 HGLT “तो फिर, किससे, मैं इस पीढ़ी के लोगों की तुलना करूँ? और वे किसके समान हैं? BSB BSB: “To what, then, can I compare the men of this generation? What are they like?
32 HGLT वे उन बालकों के समान हैं जो बाजार में बैठे हुए हैं और एक दूसरे को पुकार रहे हैं, और जो कह रहे हैं,‘हमने तुम्हारे लिये बाँसुरी बजाई, और तुम नाचे नहीं। हमने अंतिम संस्कार का गीत गाया, और तुम ने विलाप नहीं किया।’ BSB BSB: They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to one another: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.’
33 HGLT क्योंकि यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देनेवाला न रोटी खाता आया, और न ही दाखरस पीता आया, और तुम कहते हो,‘उसमें दुष्टात्मा है।’ BSB BSB: For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’
34 HGLT मनुष्य का पुत्र खाता और पीता आया, और तुम कहते हो,‘देखो, एक मनुष्य, जो पेटू है और पियक्कड़ है, जो चुंगी लेनेवालों का और पापियों का मित्र है!’ BSB BSB: The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at this glutton and drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’
35 HGLT परन्तु बुद्धि को उसकी सब सन्तानों के द्वारा न्यायोचित ठहराया गया है।” BSB BSB: But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”
36 HGLT फिर किसी फरीसी ने उससे विनती की कि उसके साथ भोजन करे। अतः उस फरीसी के घर में जाकर वह भोजन करने को बैठा। BSB BSB: Then one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to eat with him, and He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.
37 HGLT और देखो, उस नगर में एक स्त्री थी जो पापिनी थी। और जब उसने यह जाना कि वह फरीसी के घर में भोजन करने को बैठा है, तो वह संगमरमर के पात्र में सुगंधित तेल लेकर आई। BSB BSB: When a sinful woman from that town learned that Jesus was dining there, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume.
38 HGLT और उसके पाँवों के पास पीछे खड़ी होकर, वह रोने लगी। और वह उसके पाँवों को अपने आँसुओं से भिगाने लगी, और वह अपने सिर के बालों से उनको पोंछ रही थी और उसके पाँवों को चूम रही थी और सुगंधित तेल से उनका अभिषेक कर रही थी। BSB BSB: As she stood behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears and wipe them with her hair. Then she kissed His feet and anointed them with the perfume.
39 HGLT और जब उस फरीसी ने जिसने उसे आमंत्रित किया था यह देखा, तो यह कहकर, वह अपने आप से बोलने लगा,“यदि यह मनुष्य भविष्यद्वक्ता होता, तो यह जान जाता कि जो उसे छू रही है, वह कौन और किस प्रकार की स्त्री है, अर्थात वह तो पापिनी है।” BSB BSB: When the Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, He would know who this is and what kind of woman is touching Him—for she is a sinner!”
40 HGLT और उत्तर देते हुए, यीशु ने उससे कहा,“हे शमौन, मुझे तुझ से कुछ कहना है।” और वह बोला,“हे गुरु, कह!” BSB BSB: But Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” “Tell me, Teacher,” he said.
41 HGLT “किसी महाजन के दो देनदार थे। एक के 500 दीनार बकाया थे, और दूसरे के 50 दीनार। BSB BSB: “Two men were debtors to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
42 HGLT जब उनके पास चुकाने के लिए पर्याप्त नहीं था, तो उसने दोनों को क्षमा कर दिया। अतः उनमें से कौन उससे अधिक प्रेम रखेगा?” BSB BSB: When they were unable to repay him, he forgave both of them. Which one, then, will love him more?”
43 HGLT शमौन ने उत्तर देते हुए कहा,“मेरी समझ में वह जिसका उसने अधिक क्षमा कर दिया।” तब उसने उससे कहा,“तूने सही रीति से न्याय किया है।” BSB BSB: “I suppose the one who was forgiven more,” Simon replied. “You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.
44 HGLT और वह उस स्त्री की ओर घूमा और शमौन से कहा,“क्या तू इस स्त्री को देखता है? मैं तेरे घर में आया। तूने मेरे पाँवों के लिये मुझे पानी न दिया, परन्तु इसने मेरे पाँव अपने आँसुओं से भिगोए और अपने बालों से उनको पोंछा। BSB BSB: And turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give Me water for My feet, but she wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
45 HGLT तूने मुझे चूमा नहीं, परन्तु जब से मैं भीतर आया हूँ, इसने मेरे पाँवों का चूमना बन्द नहीं किया। BSB BSB: You did not greet Me with a kiss, but she has not stopped kissing My feet since I arrived.
46 HGLT तूने तेल से मेरे सिर का अभिषेक नहीं किया, परन्तु इसने सुगंधित तेल से मेरे पाँवों का अभिषेक किया है। BSB BSB: You did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume.
47 HGLT इसलिए मैं तुझ से कहता हूँ, कि इसके पाप, जो बहुत थे, क्षमा कर दिए गए हैं— क्योंकि इसने बहुत प्रेम किया है। परन्तु जिसका थोड़ा क्षमा हुआ है वह थोड़ा प्रेम करता है।” BSB BSB: Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, for she has loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”
48 HGLT फिर उसने उससे कहा,“तेरे पाप क्षमा हो गए हैं।” BSB BSB: Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 HGLT और जो उसके साथ भोजन करने बैठे थे वे आपस में कहने लगे,“यह कौन है जो पापों को भी क्षमा करता है?” BSB BSB: But those at the table began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 HGLT फिर उसने उस स्त्री से कहा,“तेरे विश्वास ने तुझे बचा लिया है। शांति से चली जा।” BSB BSB: And Jesus told the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
