3 HGLT क्योंकि मैंने अपने भाइयों के निमित्त, जो शरीर के अनुसार मेरी ही जाति के हैं, मसीह से{ अलग होकर} शापित हो जाना चाहा; BSB BSB: For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my own flesh and blood,

7 HGLT और न ही सब सन्तानें अब्राहम के वंश हैं। परन्तु,“इसहाक ही से तेरा वंश कहलाएगा।” BSB BSB: Nor because they are Abraham’s descendants are they all his children. On the contrary, “Through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.”
8 HGLT अर्थात्, शरीर की सन्तान, ये परमेश्वर की सन्तान नहीं{ हैं}। परन्तु प्रतिज्ञा की सन्तानों को वंश के रूप में माना गया है। BSB BSB: So it is not the children of the flesh who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as offspring.
9 HGLT क्योंकि प्रतिज्ञा का वचन यह{ है}:“मैं इसी समय आऊँगा, और सारा का एक पुत्र होगा।” BSB BSB: For this is what the promise stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”
10 HGLT अब, केवल यही नहीं, परन्तु रिबका ने भी एक{ मुनष्य}, हमारे पिता इसहाक से गर्भधारण किया था— BSB BSB: Not only that, but Rebecca’s children were conceived by one man, our father Isaac.
11 HGLT क्योंकि अभी तक न जन्म लिया, और न ही सचमुच कुछ भला या बुरा किया, जिससे कि परमेश्वर का उद्देश्य चुनाव करने के अनुसार स्थिर रहे, BSB BSB: Yet before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad, in order that God’s plan of election might stand,
12 HGLT कामों के द्वारा नहीं, परन्तु पुकारने वाले के द्वारा— उससे कहा गया था कि,“जेठा छोटे का दास होगा।” BSB BSB: not by works but by Him who calls, she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”

15 HGLT क्योंकि वह मूसा से कहता है,“मैं जिस किसी{ पर} दया करना चाहूँ मैं दया करूँगा, और मैं जिस किसी{ पर} करुणा करना चाहूँ मैं करुणा करूँगा।” BSB BSB: For He says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
16 HGLT इसलिए फिर,{ यह} न तो चाहने वाले की है, और न ही दौड़ने वाले की है, परन्तु दया करने वाले परमेश्वर की है। BSB BSB: So then, it does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.
17 HGLT क्योंकि पवित्रशास्त्र फ़िरौन से कहता है,“मैंने तुझे इसी{ उद्देश्य} के लिये खड़ा किया है: ताकि मैं तुझ में अपनी सामर्थ्य का प्रदर्शन करूँ, और जिससे मेरे नाम का प्रचार सारी पृथ्वी पर हो।” BSB BSB: For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
18 HGLT इसलिए फिर, वह जिस पर चाहता है उस पर दया करता है, परन्तु जिसे वह चाहता है, वह कठोर हो जाता है। BSB BSB: Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.
19 HGLT फिर तू मुझसे कहेगा,“फिर क्यों वह अभी भी गलती ढूँढ़ता है? क्योंकि किसने कभी उसकी इच्छा का विरोध किया है?” BSB BSB: One of you will say to me, “Then why does God still find fault? For who can resist His will?”

21 HGLT और क्या कुम्हार को मिट्टी पर अधिकार नहीं कि एक ही लोंदे से ऐसा बर्तन बनाए जो आदर के लिये{ है}, परन्तु ऐसा भी जो अनादर के लिये{ है}? BSB BSB: Does not the potter have the right to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for special occasions and another for common use?
22 HGLT परन्तु{ क्या हुआ} यदि परमेश्वर ने, अपना क्रोध प्रदर्शित करने और अपनी सामर्थ्य प्रकट करने की इच्छा से, विनाश के लिये तैयार किए गए क्रोध के बर्तनों को, बड़े धीरज के साथ सहन कर लिया; BSB BSB: What if God, intending to show His wrath and make His power known, bore with great patience the vessels of His wrath, prepared for destruction?
23 HGLT और ताकि वह दया के बर्तनों पर अपनी महिमा की सम्पत्ति प्रकट कर सके, जिन्हें उसने पहले से महिमा के लिये तैयार किया था,— BSB BSB: What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the vessels of His mercy, whom He prepared in advance for glory—

26 HGLT और ऐसा होगा कि जिस स्थान में उनसे यह कहा गया था कि‘तुम मेरे लोग नहीं{ हो},’ वहीं पर वे‘जीवित परमेश्वर के पुत्र’ कहलाएँगे।” BSB BSB: and, “It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
27 HGLT परन्तु यशायाह इस्राएल के विषय में पुकारता है,“यद्यपि इस्राएल के पुत्रों की संख्या समुद्र की रेत के समान हो जाए, शेष को बचाया जाएगा, BSB BSB: Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites is like the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved.
