12 IEV परन्तु तेरे पिता दाऊद से मैंने जो प्रतिज्ञा की थी उसके कारण ही मैं तुझे तेरे पूरे राज्य पर शासन करने की अनुमति देता हूँ, जब तक तू जीवित है। तेरे मरने के बाद, मैं तेरे पुत्र को पूरे राज्य पर शासन करने की आज्ञा नहीं दूँगा। BSB BSB: Nevertheless, for the sake of your father David, I will not do it during your lifetime; I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
13 IEV परन्तु मैं उसे कुछ राज्यों पर शासन करने से नहीं रोकूँगा। मैं उसे एक गोत्र पर शासन करने का अधिकार दूँगा, दाऊद से मेरी उस प्रतिज्ञा के कारण, जिसने मेरी भली- भाँति सेवा की और क्योंकि मैं चाहता हूँ कि दाऊद के वंशज यरूशलेम में शासन करें, जहाँ मेरा भवन स्थित है।” BSB BSB: Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom away from him. I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”
14 IEV यहोवा ने हदद को एदोम लोगों के समूह के राजाओं के परिवार से, सुलैमान के विरुद्ध विद्रोह करने का कारण बनाया। BSB BSB: Then the LORD raised up against Solomon an adversary, Hadad the Edomite, from the royal line of Edom.

Solomon had built the supporting terraces and repaired the gap in the wall of the city of his father David.

34 IEV परन्तु मैं पूरे राज्य से उसे वंचित नहीं करूँगा। मैं उसके जीवित रहने तक उसे यहूदा पर शासन करने में सक्षम रखूँगा। मैं ऐसा करूँगा दाऊद से की गई प्रतिज्ञा के कारण, जिसे मैंने राजा बनाने का निर्णय लिया था, और जिसने भली- भाँति मेरी सेवा की, और जो सदैव मेरे आदेशों और कानूनों का पालन करता था। BSB BSB: Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of Solomon’s hand, because I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of David My servant, whom I chose because he kept My commandments and statutes.
35 IEV परन्तु मैं उसके साम्राज्य के अन्य दस गोत्रों को उससे ले लूँगा और उन पर शासन करने के लिए तुझे दूँगा। BSB BSB: But I will take ten tribes of the kingdom from the hand of his son and give them to you.
36 IEV मैं सुलैमान के पुत्र को एक गोत्र पर शासन करने की अनुमति दूँगा, कि दाऊद के वंशज सदैव यरूशलेम में शासन करें, जिस शहर को मैंने चुना है, जहाँ मेरे लोग मेरी आराधना करते हैं। BSB BSB: I will give one tribe to his son, so that My servant David will always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I chose to put My Name.
37 IEV मैं तुझे इस्राएल का राजा बनने में समर्थ बनाऊँगा, और तू जो क्षेत्र चाहता है उस पर शासन करेगा। BSB BSB: But as for you, I will take you, and you shall reign over all that your heart desires, and you will be king over Israel.

I will build you a lasting dynasty just as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.

But Jeroboam arose and fled to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, where he remained until the death of Solomon.
