7 IEV यहोवा सुन रहे हैं, अतः चुप चाप यहाँ खड़े रहो और मैं तुम पर आरोप लगाता हूँ और तुमको बताता हूँ कि अगुवाई के लिए राजा की माँग करना गलत था तुम्हें यहोवा ही पर भरोसा रखना था। मैं तुम्हें उन सब महान चमत्कारों का स्मरण कराऊँगा जो यहोवा ने तुम्हारे और तुम्हारे पूर्वजों के लिए किये हैं। BSB BSB: Now present yourselves, so that I may confront you before the LORD with all the righteous acts He has done for you and your fathers.

17 IEV तुम जानते हो कि वर्ष के इस समय में, जब तुम गेहूँ की कटाई करते हो तो वर्षा नहीं होती है। परन्तु आज मैं यहोवा से गर्जन और बिजली और वर्षा भेजने के लिए कहूँगा। जब वे ऐसा करते हैं, तो तुमको पता चलेगा कि यहोवा यह मानते हैं कि तुमने राजा की माँग करके बहुत बुरा कार्य किया है।” BSB BSB: Is it not the wheat harvest today? I will call on the LORD to send thunder and rain, so that you will know and see what a great evil you have committed in the sight of the LORD by asking for a king.”
18 IEV तब शमूएल ने यहोवा से प्रार्थना की, और यहोवा ने वहाँ गर्जन और बिजली और वर्षा की। तो सभी लोग यहोवा और शमूएल से बहुत डर गए। BSB BSB: So Samuel called to the LORD, and on that day the LORD sent thunder and rain. As a result, all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

For we have added to all our sins the evil of asking for a king.”
20 IEV शमूएल ने उत्तर दिया,“डरो मत! तुमने यह बुरा कार्य किया है, परन्तु उन कार्यों को न रोको जिन्हें यहोवा चाहते हैं। बल्कि, अपने भीतर से यहोवा की सेवा करो। BSB BSB: “Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “Even though you have committed all this evil, do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart.

23 IEV परन्तु जहाँ तक मेरी बात है, मैंने सच्चे मन से प्रतिज्ञा की है कि मैं तुम्हारे लिए प्रार्थना करना छोड़ कर यहोवा के विरुद्ध पाप नहीं करूँगा। और मैं तुमको भली और उचित बातें सिखाता रहूँगा। BSB BSB: As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by ceasing to pray for you. And I will continue to teach you the good and right way.
24 IEV परन्तु तुम्हें यहोवा का सम्मान करना चाहिए और अपनी पूरी भीतरी शक्ति से उनकी सेवा करनी चाहिए। उन्होंने तुम्हारे लिए जो महान कार्य किये है उन्हें कभी न भूलना। BSB BSB: Above all, fear the LORD and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things He has done for you.
25 IEV यदि तुम दुष्टता के कार्य करते रहोगे, तो वे तुम्हें और तुम्हारे राजा को त्याग देंगे।” BSB BSB: But if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will be swept away.”
