1 IEV अब फसह पर्व के आरम्भ होने से एक दिन पहले। यीशु जानते थे कि वह समय आ गया था जब उन्हें इस संसार को छोड़ कर अपने पिता के पास वापस जाना है। उन्होंने दिखाया कि वे उन लोगों से कितना प्रेम करते थे जो उनके साथ इस संसार में थे, और उन्होंने अपने जीवन के अन्त तक उनसे प्रेम किया। BSB BSB: It was now just before the Passover Feast, and Jesus knew that His hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the very end.
2 IEV यीशु और शिष्यों के शाम का भोजन करने से पहले, शैतान ने शमौन के पुत्र यहूदा इस्करियोती के मन में पहले ही यह विचार डाल दिया था, कि वह यीशु को उनके शत्रुओं के हाथ पकड़वा दे। BSB BSB: The evening meal was underway, and the devil had already put into the heart of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.
3 IEV फिर भी यीशु जानते थे कि उनके पिता ने उन्हें सब पर पूर्ण शक्ति और अधिकार दिया है। वह यह भी जानते थे कि वह स्वयं परमेश्वर की और से आए हैं और शीघ्र ही परमेश्वर के पास लौट जाएँगे। BSB BSB: Jesus knew that the Father had delivered all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was returning to God.
4 IEV यीशु रात के खाने से उठ गए उन्होंने अपने बाहरी वस्त्र उतार दिए और अपनी कमर पर एक तौलिया लपेट लिया। BSB BSB: So He got up from the supper, laid aside His outer garments, and wrapped a towel around His waist.
5 IEV उन्होंने थोड़ा जल बर्तन में डाल लिया और शिष्यों के पैरों को धोने लगें और तौलिए से पोंछ कर सुखाया। BSB BSB: After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and dry them with the towel that was around Him.
6 IEV वह शमौन पतरस के पास गए तो उसने उनसे कहा, हे प्रभु, क्या आप मेरे पैरों को धोएँगे? BSB BSB: He came to Simon Peter, who asked Him, “Lord, are You going to wash my feet?”
7 IEV “यीशु ने उसको उत्तर दिया,” तू अभी समझ नहीं पा रहा है कि मैं तेरे लिए क्या कर रहा हूँ, परन्तु बाद में तू समझ जाएगा।” BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
8 IEV पतरस ने कहा,“आप मेरे पैरों को कभी नहीं धोएँगे!” यीशु ने उसको उत्तर दिया,“यदि मैं तेरे पैर नहीं धोता, तो तेरा मुझसे कोई मेल नहीं है।” BSB BSB: “Never shall You wash my feet!” Peter told Him. Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me.”
9 IEV तब शमौन पतरस ने उनसे कहा,“हे प्रभु, केवल मेरे पैरों को ही नहीं, मेरे हाथों और मेरे सिर को भी धो दो।” BSB BSB: “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and my head as well!”
10 IEV यीशु ने उससे कहा,“जिसने स्नान किया है, उसको केवल पैरों को धोने की आवश्यकता है, उसका सारा शरीर पहले से ही साफ है, तुम साफ हो, परन्तु तुम सब नहीं।” BSB BSB: Jesus told him, “Whoever has already bathed needs only to wash his feet, and he will be completely clean. And you are clean, though not all of you.”
11 IEV वह जानते थे कि उन्हें कौन पकडवाने वाला था। यही कारण है कि उन्होंने कहा,“तुम सब साफ नहीं हो।” BSB BSB: For He knew who would betray Him. That is why He said, “Not all of you are clean.”
12 IEV उन्होंने शिष्यों के पैरों को धोने के बाद, फिर से अपना बाहरी वस्त्र पहना और अपने स्थान पर बैठ गए और कहा,“क्या तुम समझते हो कि मैंने तुम्हारे लिए क्या किया है? BSB BSB: When Jesus had washed their feet and put on His outer garments, He reclined with them again and asked, “Do you know what I have done for you?
13 IEV तुम मुझे‘शिक्षक’ और‘प्रभु कहते हो; तुम सही कहते हो; क्योंकि मैं यही हूँ। BSB BSB: You call Me Teacher and Lord, and rightly so, because I am.
14 IEV यदि मैं, तुम्हारे शिक्षक और प्रभु ने तुम्हारे पैरों को धोया है, तो तुमको भी एक दूसरे के पैरों को धोना चाहिए। BSB BSB: So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
15 IEV मैंने तुमको ऐसा करने का एक उदाहरण दिया है, जिससे कि तुम वैसा ही करो जैसा मैंने किया है। BSB BSB: I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you.
16 IEV मैं तुमसे सच कह रहा हूँ: कि सेवक अपने स्वामी से श्रेष्ट नहीं है, न ही एक सन्देशवाहक अपने भेजने वाले से बड़ा है। BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17 IEV यदि तुम इन बातों को जानते हो, तो तुम कितने धन्य होंगे यदि तुम उन्हें करोगे। BSB BSB: If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
18 IEV मैं तुम सबके विषय में यह नहीं कह रहा हूँ; मैं उन लोगों को जानता हूँ जिन्हें मैंने चुना है परन्तु, पवित्रशास्त्र में जो लिखा है उसे पूरा होना चाहिए:‘जिसने मेरे साथ एक मित्र के समान भोजन किया है, वह मेरे विरुद्ध हो गया और मेरे साथ शत्रु के समान व्यवहार किया।’ BSB BSB: I am not speaking about all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the Scripture: ‘The one who shares My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’
19 IEV इससे पहले कि वह मुझे उनके हाथों पकड़वा दे, मैं तुम्हें यह बता रहा हूँ कि जब ऐसा हो, तब तुम मुझ पर विश्वास कर सको कि मैं परमेश्वर हूँ। BSB BSB: I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it comes to pass, you will believe that I am He.
20 IEV मैं तुमसे सच कह रहा हूँ: यदि तुम उसको ग्रहण करते जिसे मैंने तुम्हारे पास भेजा है, तो तुम मुझे भी ग्रहण कर रहे हो; और जो कोई मुझे ग्रहण करता है, वह मेरे पिता को भी ग्रहण करता है, जिन्होंने मुझे भेजा है।” BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever receives the one I send receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives the One who sent Me.”
21 IEV यीशु ऐसा कहने के बाद, अपने मन में व्याकुल हुए, उन्होंने गम्भीरता से घोषणा की,“मैं तुमसे सच कह रहा हूँ: तुम में से एक मुझे मेरे शत्रुओं को सौंप देगा।” BSB BSB: After Jesus had said this, He became troubled in spirit and testified, “Truly, truly, I tell you, one of you will betray Me.”
22 IEV शिष्यों ने एक दूसरे को देखा, वे उलझन में थे कि वह किसके विषय में बात कर रहे है। BSB BSB: The disciples looked at one another, perplexed as to which of them He meant.
23 IEV शिष्यों में से एक, यूहन्ना, जिसे यीशु विशेष रूप से प्रेम करते थे, वह तख्त पर यीशु के साथ था BSB BSB: One of His disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was reclining at His side.
24 IEV शमौन पतरस ने यूहन्ना से कहा कि उसे यीशु से पूछना चाहिए कि वह किस शिष्य के विषय में बात कर रहे हैं। BSB BSB: So Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus which one He was talking about.
25 IEV तब यूहन्ना यीशु की ओर झुका और धीरे से पूछा,“हे प्रभु, वह कौन है?” BSB BSB: Leaning back against Jesus, he asked, “Lord, who is it?”
26 IEV “यीशु ने उत्तर दिया,” यह वह है जिसे मैं रोटी का टुकड़ा कटोरे में डुबो कर दूँगा।” फिर उन्होंने रोटी को डुबा कर शमौन इस्करियोती के पुत्र यहूदा को दिया। BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I give this morsel after I have dipped it.” Then He dipped the morsel and gave it to Judas son of Simon Iscariot.
27 IEV जैसे ही यहूदा ने रोटी का टुकड़ा लिया, वैसे ही शैतान उसमें समा गया और उसे अपने नियंत्रण में कर लिया। यीशु ने उससे कहा,“जो भी तुझे करना है, उसे शीघ्र कर।” BSB BSB: And when Judas had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to Judas, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
28 IEV मेज पर कोई यह नहीं जानता था कि यीशु ने उसे ऐसा क्यों कहा था BSB BSB: But no one at the table knew why Jesus had said this to him.
29 IEV कुछ लोग सोचते थे कि यहूदा के पास पैसे की थैली थी, इसलिए यीशु उससे कह रहे होंगे कि जा कर फसह पर्व के लिए कुछ आवश्यक वस्तुएँ मोल ले लाए। दूसरों ने सोचा कि यीशु यहूदा को गरीबों को कुछ देने के लिए कह रहे थे। BSB BSB: Since Judas kept the money bag, some thought that Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the feast, or to give something to the poor.
30 IEV रोटी ग्रहण करने के तुरन्त बाद, यहूदा बाहर निकल गया। वह रात का समय था। BSB BSB: As soon as he had received the morsel, Judas went out into the night.
31 IEV यहूदा के जाने के बाद, यीशु ने कहा,“अब परमेश्वर लोगों पर प्रकट करेंगे कि मैं, मनुष्य का पुत्र क्या कर रहा हूँ। मैं मनुष्य का पुत्र, लोगों को यह बता दूँगा कि परमेश्वर क्या कर रहे है, और लोग इसके लिए उनकी प्रशंसा करेंगे BSB BSB: When Judas had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
32 IEV क्योंकि मैं, मनुष्य का पुत्र, लोगों पर प्रकट करूँगा, परमेश्वर को जानने दूँगा और क्योंकि मैं उनका आदर करता हूँ, परमेश्वर भी मेरा सम्मान करेंगे। वरन् तुरन्त करेंगे। BSB BSB: If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify the Son in Himself—and will glorify Him at once.
33 IEV हे मेरे बच्चों, मैं थोड़ी देर तुम्हारे साथ हूँ तुम मुझे खोजोगे; परन्तु जैसा मैंने यहूदियों से कहा था, और जैसा कि अब मैं तुमसे कह रहा हूँ, जहाँ मैं जा रहा हूँ, वहाँ तुम नहीं आ सकते। BSB BSB: Little children, I am with you only a little while longer. You will look for Me, and as I said to the Jews, so now I say to you: ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’
35 IEV यदि तुम एक दूसरे से प्रेम करते हो, तो सब लोग जान लेंगे कि तुम मेरे शिष्य हो।” BSB BSB: By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
36 IEV शमौन पतरस ने उनसे कहाँ, हे प्रभु, आप कहाँ जा रहे हैं? यीशु ने उत्तर दिया,“जहाँ मैं जा रहा हूँ, तुम मेरे साथ वहाँ नहीं आ सकते, परन्तु तुम बाद में आओगे।” BSB BSB: “Lord, where are You going?” Simon Peter asked. Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you cannot follow Me now, but you will follow later.”
37 IEV पतरस ने कहा,” हे प्रभु, मैं आपके साथ क्यों नहीं आ सकता? मैंने अपना पूरा जीवन आपके लिए अर्पित कर दिया है BSB BSB: “Lord,” said Peter, “why can’t I follow You now? I will lay down my life for You.”
38 IEV यीशु ने उत्तर दिया,” क्या तू सचमुच मेरे लिए अपना जीवन अर्पित करेगा, पतरस? मैं तुझ से सच कह रहा हूँ: मुर्गा सुबह तब तक बाँग नहीं देगा जब तक तू तीन बार यह न कह दे कि तू मुझे नहीं जानता। BSB BSB: “Will you lay down your life for Me?” Jesus replied. “Truly, truly, I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.
