10 IEV जब धूप जलाने का समय आया, तो बहुत से लोग आराधनालय के बाहर आँगन में प्रार्थना कर रहे थे। BSB BSB: And at the hour of the incense offering, the whole congregation was praying outside.
11 IEV तब परमेश्वर की ओर से भेजा गया एक स्वर्गदूत, उसके सामने प्रकट हुआ। स्वर्गदूत धूप की वेदी के दाहिनी ओर खड़ा था। BSB BSB: Just then an angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah, standing at the right side of the altar of incense.
12 IEV जब जकर्याह ने स्वर्गदूत को देखा, तो वह चौंक गया और बहुत डर गया। BSB BSB: When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and gripped with fear.
13 IEV परन्तु स्वर्गदूत ने उससे कहा,“हे जकर्याह, मत डर। जब तू प्रार्थना कर रहा था, तो प्रभु ने तेरी विनती सुनी, इसलिए तेरी पत्नी एलीशिबा तेरे लिए एक पुत्र को जन्म देगी। तू उसका नाम यूहन्ना रखना। BSB BSB: But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.
14 IEV तुझे आनन्द और हर्ष होगा, और उसके जन्म लेने से अनेक लोग भी आनन्दित होंगे। BSB BSB: He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice at his birth,
15 IEV वह परमेश्वर के लिए अत्याधिक महत्वपूर्ण होगा। वह दाखरस या कोई अन्य दाखमधु कभी न पीए। वह जन्म से पहले ही पवित्र- आत्मा की शक्ति से भरा हुआ होगा। BSB BSB: for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He shall never take wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother’s womb.
16 IEV वह इस्राएल के वंशजों को पाप करने से रोकेगा और अपने परमेश्वर की आज्ञा का पालन करना आरम्भ करने के लिए प्रेरित करेगा। BSB BSB: Many of the sons of Israel he will turn back to the Lord their God.
18 IEV तब जकर्याह ने स्वर्गदूत से कहा,“मैं बहुत बूढ़ा हूँ, मेरी पत्नी भी बहुत बूढ़ी है। तो मैं कैसे जानूँ कि तूने जो कहा है वह होगा?” BSB BSB: “How can I be sure of this?” Zechariah asked the angel. “I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

20 IEV मैंने जो तुझ से कहा है वह परमेश्वर के उचित समय पर पूरा होकर ही रहेगा, परन्तु तूने मेरे वचनों पर विश्वास नहीं किया, उस दिन तक तू मौन रहेगा!” BSB BSB: And now you will be silent and unable to speak until the day this comes to pass, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled at their proper time.”
21 IEV इधर जकर्याह और स्वर्गदूत आराधनालय में बात कर रहे थे, और उधर आँगन में लोग जकर्याह के बाहर आने की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे। वे आश्चर्य कर रहे थे कि वह आराधनालय में इतनी देर तक क्यों रुका हुआ है। BSB BSB: Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he took so long in the temple.
22 IEV जब वह बाहर आया, तो वह उनसे बात नहीं कर पा रहा था, इसलिए उसने अपने हाथों के संकेत से उसके साथ हुई घटना को समझाने का प्रयास किया। वे समझ गए कि जब वह आराधनालय में था, तब उसने दर्शन देखा है। BSB BSB: When he came out and was unable to speak to them, they realized he had seen a vision in the temple. 25 IEV उसने अपने आप से कहा,“परमेश्वर ने मुझे गर्भवती होने में समर्थ किया है और लोगों में मेरा तिरस्कार होने का कारण हटा दिया है!” BSB BSB: “The Lord has done this for me. In these days He has shown me favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”
27 IEV वह वहाँ एक कुँवारी से बात करने के लिए गया था जिसकी मंगनी यूसुफ नाम के एक पुरुष से हुई थी, जो राजा दाऊद का वंशज था। उस कुँवारी का नाम मरियम था। BSB BSB: to a virgin pledged in marriage to a man named Joseph, who was of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 IEV तब स्वर्गदूत ने उससे कहा,“नमस्कार! प्रभु तेरे साथ है और उन्होंने तेरे प्रति महान कृपा दिखाई है!” BSB BSB: The angel appeared to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
29 IEV परन्तु मरियम उस वचन को सुन कर बहुत परेशान हो गई। वह आश्चर्य करने लगी कि स्वर्गदूत द्वारा कहे गए इन वचनों का क्या अर्थ है। BSB BSB: Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
30 IEV तब स्वर्गदूत ने उससे कहा,“मरियम, मत डर, क्योंकि तूने परमेश्वर का अनुग्रह प्राप्त किया है! BSB BSB: So the angel told her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 IEV तू गर्भवती होगी और एक पुत्र को जन्म देगी, और तू उसका नाम यीशु रखना। BSB BSB: Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus.
32 IEV वह महान होंगे और उन्हें परमप्रधान परमेश्वर का पुत्र कहा जाएगा। प्रभु परमेश्वर उन्हें उनके पूर्वज दाऊद के समान अपने लोगों के ऊपर राजा बनाएँगे। BSB BSB: He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David,
33 IEV वह याकूब के वंशजों पर सदा के लिए शासन करेंगे। उनके शासन का अन्त नहीं होगा!” BSB BSB: and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. His kingdom will never end!”
35 IEV स्वर्गदूत ने उत्तर दिया,“पवित्र- आत्मा तुझ पर आएँगे और परमप्रधान की शक्ति तुझ पर छा जाएगी, इसलिए जिस बच्चे को तू जन्म देगी वह पवित्र होगा, और वह परमप्रधान परमेश्वर के पुत्र कहलाएँगे। BSB BSB: The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.
36 IEV और सुन, तेरी सम्बन्धी एलीशिबा बूढ़ी होने पर भी गर्भवती है। और पुत्र को जन्म देगी यद्यपि लोगों ने सोचा था कि वह सन्तान को जन्म दे नहीं सकती, अब वह इस समय लगभग छः महीने की गर्भवती है। BSB BSB: Look, even Elizabeth your relative has conceived a son in her old age, and she who was called barren is in her sixth month.
37 IEV क्योंकि परमेश्वर कुछ भी कर सकते हैं!” BSB BSB: For no word from God will ever fail.”

42 IEV उसने ऊँचे स्वर में मरियम से कहा,“परमेश्वर ने तुझे अन्य स्त्रियों की तुलना में अधिक आशीष दी है, और जिस बच्चे को तू जन्म देगी उसे भी आशीष दी है! BSB BSB: In a loud voice she exclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
43 IEV यह कितना अद्भुत है कि मेरे प्रभु की माता मेरे पास आई है! BSB BSB: And why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 IEV जैसे ही मैंने तेरा अभिवादन सुना वैसे ही बच्चा मेरे गर्भ में उछला क्योंकि वह बहुत आनन्दित हुआ कि तू आई है! BSB BSB: For as soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.
45 IEV तू धन्य है क्योंकि तूने विश्वास किया कि परमेश्वर ने जो कहा वह सच हो जाएगा।” BSB BSB: Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord’s word to her will be fulfilled.”
47 IEV मैं परमेश्वर से बहुत आनन्दित हूँ, वह मेरा उद्धार करने वाले हैं BSB BSB: and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
49 IEV वे उन महान कार्यों के कारण जो सामर्थी परमेश्वर ने मेरे लिए किया है, ऐसा कहेंगे। उनका नाम पवित्र है! BSB BSB: For the Mighty One has done great things for me. Holy is His name.
50 IEV जो लोग उनका सम्मान करते हैं उन लोगों के प्रति वह पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक दया के कार्य करते हैं। BSB BSB: His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation.
51 IEV उन्होंने अपना भुजबल दिखाया। वह उन लोगों को तितर- बितर करते हैं, जो अपने मन के भीतर घमण्ड रखते हैं। BSB BSB: He has performed mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their hearts.
52 IEV उन्होंने राजाओं को शासन करने से रोक दिया है, और उन्होंने पीड़ित लोगों को ऊँचा किया है। BSB BSB: He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has exalted the humble.

57 IEV जब बच्चे को जन्म देने का समय आया, तब एलीशिबा ने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया। BSB BSB: When the time came for Elizabeth to have her child, she gave birth to a son.
58 IEV उसके पड़ोसियों और सम्बन्धियों ने सुना कि परमेश्वर ने उस पर कैसी दया की है तो उन्होंने एलीशिबा के साथ आनन्द मनाया। BSB BSB: Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they rejoiced with her.
59 IEV इसके बाद, आठवें दिन लोग बच्चे का खतना करने के समारोह में एकत्र हुए। क्योंकि उसके पिता का नाम जकर्याह था, इसलिए वे बच्चे को भी वही नाम देना चाहते थे। BSB BSB: On the eighth day, when they came to circumcise the child, they were going to name him after his father Zechariah.
60 IEV परन्तु उसकी माता ने कहा,“नहीं, उसका नाम यूहन्ना होना चाहिए!” BSB BSB: But his mother replied, “No! He shall be called John.”
61 IEV उन्होंने उससे कहा,“परन्तु यूहन्ना नाम तो तेरे सम्बन्धियों में से किसी का भी नहीं है!” BSB BSB: They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who bears this name.”
62 IEV तब उन्होंने उसके पिता को हाथों से संकेत करके पूछा कि वह अपने पुत्र को क्या नाम देना चाहता है। BSB BSB: So they made signs to his father to find out what he wanted to name the child.
63 IEV तब उसने संकेत से समझाया कि उसे लिखने के लिए एक पट्टी दी जाए। जब उन्होंने उसे एक पट्टी दी, तो उसने उस पर लिखा,“उसका नाम यूहन्ना है।” वहाँ उपस्थित सभी लोग आश्चर्यचकित हो गए! BSB BSB: Zechariah asked for a tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they were all amazed.

65 IEV जो लोग आस- पास रहते थे वे परमेश्वर के कार्य को देख कर बहुत अचम्भित थे। उन्होंने अनेक लोगों को घटी हुई बातें सुनाई और यह समाचार यहूदिया के सब पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में फैल गया। BSB BSB: All their neighbors were filled with awe, and people throughout the hill country of Judea were talking about these events.
66 IEV जो कोई इस घटना के विषय में सुनता, वह उसके विषय में सोचता रहता था। वे कहते,“हम सोचते हैं कि यह बच्चा बड़ा होकर क्या करेगा!” क्योंकि प्रभु का हाथ उसके साथ था। BSB BSB: And all who heard this wondered in their hearts and asked, “What then will this child become?” For the Lord’s hand was with him.
67 IEV फिर उसका पिता जकर्याह पवित्र- आत्मा से परिपूर्ण हो गया और उसने परमेश्वर की ओर से ये वचन कहे: BSB BSB: Then his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:

77 IEV तू लोगों को बताएगा कि परमेश्वर उन्हें क्षमा कर सकते हैं और उन्हें उनके पापों के दण्ड से बचा सकते हैं। BSB BSB: to give to His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,
