1 IEV मूसा की बड़ी बहन मिर्याम और उसका बड़ा भाई हारून मूसा से ईर्ष्या रखते थे और कहा,“क्या केवल मूसा ही है जिसे यहोवा हमें सुनाने के लिए सन्देश देते हैं? क्या यहोवा हम दोनों के द्वारा भी सन्देश नहीं दे सकते?” उन्होंने मूसा की भी निन्दा की क्योंकि उसने एक ऐसी स्त्री से विवाह किया था जो कूशी लोगों के वंश की थी। और यहोवा ने मूसा के विषय में मिर्याम और हारून की निन्दा सुनी। BSB BSB: Then Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because of the Cushite woman he had married, for he had taken a Cushite wife.
3 IEV सच यह था कि मूसा एक बहुत विनम्र व्यक्ति था। वह पृथ्वी पर सबसे अधिक विनम्र था। BSB BSB: Now Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.
4 IEV तब यहोवा ने तुरन्त ही मूसा और हारून और मिर्याम से बात की। उन्होंने कहा,“तुम तीनों पवित्र- तम्बू के पास निकल आओ।” उन्होंने ऐसा किया। BSB BSB: And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three went out,
5 IEV तब यहोवा एक बादल में जो एक विशाल सफेद खम्भे जैसा था, तम्बू के द्वार पर उतर गए। उन्होंने हारून और मिर्याम को आगे बढ़ने के लिए कहा, तो उन्होंने वैसा किया। BSB BSB: and the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance to the Tent, and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When both of them had stepped forward,

7 IEV परन्तु मैं अपने दास मूसा से इस प्रकार से बात नहीं करता हूँ। मुझे विश्वास है कि वह मेरे लोगों का अच्छी अगुवाई करेगा। BSB BSB: But this is not so with My servant Moses; he is faithful in all My house.
8 IEV इसलिए मैं उससे आमने- सामने बात करता हूँ। मैं दृष्टान्तों द्वारा नहीं परन्तु आमने- सामने से उससे बात करता हूँ। उसने यह भी देखा है कि मैं कैसा दिखता हूँ। अत: तुम्हें मेरे दास मूसा की निन्दा करने से डरना चाहिए।” BSB BSB: I speak with him face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you unafraid to speak against My servant Moses?”
9 IEV यहोवा मिर्याम और हारून से बहुत क्रोधित था, और वह चला गया। BSB BSB: So the anger of the LORD burned against them, and He departed.
10 IEV जब बादल पवित्र- तम्बू से उठ गया, तो हारून ने मिर्याम को देखा, और उसने देखा कि उसकी त्वचा हिम के समान श्वेत थी, क्योंकि अब उसे कुष्ठ रोग था। BSB BSB: As the cloud lifted from above the Tent, suddenly Miriam became leprous, white as snow. Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was leprous,

12 IEV मिर्याम को एक ऐसे बच्चे के समान रहने न दें जो मरा हुआ जन्मा है, जिसका माँस पहले से ही आधा सड़ गया है।” BSB BSB: Please do not let her be like a stillborn infant whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”
13 IEV तब मूसा ने यहोवा से पुकार कर कहा,“हे परमेश्वर, मैं आप से विनती करता हूँ कि उसे स्वस्थ कर दें!” BSB BSB: So Moses cried out to the LORD, “O God, please heal her!”
14 IEV परन्तु यहोवा ने उत्तर दिया,“यदि उसके पिता ने कुछ गलत करने के लिए उसके चेहरे पर थूक कर उसे दण्ड दिया होता, तो वह सात दिनों तक लज्जा में रहती। उसने जो किया है उसके कारण उसे लज्जित होना चाहिए। उसे सात दिन के लिए छावनी के बाहर भेज दे तब उसका कुष्ठ रोग समाप्त हो जाएगा और वह छावनी में वापस आ सकती है।” BSB BSB: But the LORD answered Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Let her be confined outside the camp for seven days; after that she may be brought back in.”
15 IEV इसलिए उन्होंने उसे सात दिनों तक छावनी के बाहर रखा। जब तक वह वापस नहीं आई तब तक लोग दूसरे स्थान पर नहीं गए। BSB BSB: So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until she was brought in again.
16 IEV परन्तु उसके लौटने के बाद, उन्होंने हसेरोत छोड़ दिया और पारान मरुस्थल के उत्तर की ओर चले गए और वहाँ अपने तम्बू खड़े किए। BSB BSB: After that, the people set out from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.
