9 IEV परमेश्वर ने उस विशाल अजगर को स्वर्ग से बाहर फेंक दिया। वह अजगर प्राचीन साँप है, जिसका नाम दुष्ट- आत्मा और शैतान है। यह वही है जो पूरी पृथ्वी पर लोगों को धोखा देता है। उसके सारे दूतों के साथ वह पृथ्वी पर फेंक दिया गया था। BSB BSB: And the great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down—he who accuses them day and night before our God.

And they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death.
12 IEV इसलिए स्वर्ग में हर किसी को आनन्दित होना चाहिए। परन्तु पृथ्वी पर और समुद्र में रहने वालों के साथ भयानक घटनाएँ घटेंगी, क्योंकि शैतान तुम्हारे पास नीचे उतर आया है। वह बहुत क्रोध में है क्योंकि वह जानता है कि परमेश्वर से दण्ड पाने में उसके पास बहुत कम समय है।” BSB BSB: Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea; with great fury the devil has come down to you, knowing he has only a short time.”
13 IEV जब अजगर को समझ में आया कि उसे पृथ्वी पर फेंक दिया गया है तो उसने उस स्त्री का पीछा किया, जिसने एक पुत्र को जन्म दिया था। BSB BSB: And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.
14 IEV परन्तु परमेश्वर ने स्त्री को बड़े उकाब के समान दो पंख दिए कि वह उड़ कर मरुभूमि में उस जगह चली जाए जो परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए तैयार की है। जहाँ परमेश्वर ने साढ़े तीन वर्ष तक उसकी देखभाल की! वह साँप जो अजगर है, उस स्त्री के पास नहीं पहुँच सकता था। BSB BSB: But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle to fly from the presence of the serpent to her place in the wilderness, where she was nourished for a time, and times, and half a time.
15 IEV फिर साँप ने स्त्री को पानी में बहाने के लिए अपने मुँह से स्त्री की ओर नदी के समान पानी बहाया। परन्तु भूमि ने खुल कर अजगर के मुँह से निकले पानी को पी लिया। BSB BSB: Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river to overtake the woman and sweep her away in the torrent.
16 IEV तब अजगर स्त्री से बहुत क्रोधित हो गया, इसलिए वह स्त्री की सन्तानों के विरुद्ध युद्ध करने निकला। ये वे लोग हैं जो परमेश्वर की आज्ञाओं का पालन करते हैं और यीशु के विषय में सच बोलते हैं। BSB BSB: But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth to swallow up the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth.
17 IEV तब अजगर समुद्र के किनारे पर खड़ा हो गया। BSB BSB: And the dragon was enraged at the woman and went to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea.
