1 UDB एक दिन एक भविष्यवक्ता, यहोवा की आज्ञानुसार उत्तर यहूदा से बेतेल गया। वह उस समय वहाँ पहुँचा जब यारोबाम धूप जलाने के लिए वेदी के पास खड़ा था। BSB BSB: Suddenly, as Jeroboam was standing beside the altar to burn incense, there came a man of God from Judah to Bethel by the word of the LORD.
2 UDB यह कहते हुए जो यहोवा ने उसे कहने के लिए कहा था, भविष्यवक्ता चिल्लाया, "यहोवा इस वेदी के बारे में यही कहते हैं, 'मैं चाहता हूँ तू जान ले कि किसी दिन राजा दाऊद के वंशज पैदा होगा। उसका नाम योशिय्याह होगा, और वह यहाँ आएगा। वह इस वेदी पर याजकों को मार डालेगा जो इस क्षेत्र में पहाड़ियों पर बलिदान के लिए धूप जला रहे हैं, और वह इस वेदी पर मृत लोगों की हड्डियों को जला देगा।" BSB BSB: And he cried out against the altar by the word of the LORD, “O altar, O altar, this is what the LORD says: ‘A son named Josiah will be born to the house of David, and upon you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense upon you, and human bones will be burned upon you.’”

7 UDB तब राजा ने भविष्यद्वक्ता से कहा, "मेरे साथ घर आ और कुछ भोजन कर। और जो कुछ तुने किया है उसके लिए मैं तुझे उपहार भी दूंगा!" BSB BSB: Then the king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.”
8 UDB परन्तु भविष्यद्वक्ता ने उत्तर दिया, "यहाँ तक कि यदि तू मुझे अपने स्वामित्व का आधा भाग भी देने का वादा करे तब भी मैं तुम्हारे तेरे साथ नहीं जाऊंगा, और मैं तेरे साथ कुछ भी नहीं खाऊंगा और ना पीऊंगा, BSB BSB: But the man of God replied, “If you were to give me half your possessions, I still would not go with you, nor would I eat bread or drink water in this place.
9 UDB क्योंकि यहोवा ने मुझे यहाँ कुछ भी नहीं खाने या पीने का आदेश दिया था। उसने मुझे आदेश दिया कि मैं उस सड़क से घर वापस न लौटूं जिस से मैं आया था।" BSB BSB: For this is what I was commanded by the word of the LORD: ‘You must not eat bread or drink water or return by the way you came.’”
10 UDB फिर वह घर लौटने लगा, लेकिन वह उस सड़क से नहीं गया जिस से वह बेतेल आया था। वह एक अलग सड़क से चला गया। BSB BSB: So the man of God went another way and did not return by the way he had come to Bethel.
11 UDB उस समय बेतेल में रहने वाला एक बूढ़ा व्यक्ति था जो भविष्यद्वक्ता भी था। उसके पुत्र आए और उसे बताया कि उस दिन यहूदा के भविष्यद्वक्ता ने क्या किया था, और उन्होंने उसे यह भी बताया कि भविष्यद्वक्ता ने राजा से क्या कहा था। BSB BSB: Now a certain old prophet was living in Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the deeds that the man of God had done that day in Bethel. They also told their father the words that the man had spoken to the king.

He found him sitting under an oak tree and asked, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” “I am,” he replied.

18 UDB तब बूढ़े भविष्यद्वक्ता ने उससे कहा, "मैं भी तेरे जैसा भविष्यद्वक्ता हूँ। यहोवा ने मुझे यह बताने के लिए एक दूत भेजा कि मुझे तुझे मेरे साथ घर ले जाना चाहिए और तुझको कुछ खाना और पीना चाहिए।" लेकिन बूढ़ा व्यक्ति झूठ बोल रहा था जब उसने यह कहा था। BSB BSB: Then the prophet replied, “I too am a prophet like you, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, so that he may eat bread and drink water.’” The old prophet was lying to him,
19 UDB परन्तु बूढ़े भविष्यद्वक्ता ने जो कहा, उसे सुनकर यहूदा का भविष्यद्वक्ता उसके साथ लौट आया और कुछ भोजन किया और उसके साथ थोड़ा पानी पिया। BSB BSB: but the man of God went back with him, ate bread in his house, and drank water.
20 UDB जब वे मेज पर बैठे थे, तब यहोवा ने बूढ़े व्यक्ति से बातें की। BSB BSB: While they were sitting at the table, the word of the LORD came to the prophet who had brought him back,
21 UDB तब उसने यहूदा के भविष्यद्वक्ता से कहा, "यहोवा यही कहते है: 'तुने उनकी आज्ञा ना मानी, और तुने वह नही किया जिसकी उन्होंने आज्ञा दी थी। BSB BSB: and the prophet cried out to the man of God who had come from Judah, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Because you have defied the word of the LORD and have not kept the commandment that the LORD your God gave you,
22 UDB इसके बजाय, तू यहाँ वापस आ गए और ऐसे स्थान में खाया पिया जहाँ उन्होंने ऐसा न करने की आज्ञा दी थी। इस के कारण तू मारा जाएगा और तेरे शरीर को वहाँ कब्र में मिट्टी नहीं दी जाएगी जहाँ तेरे पूर्वजों को मिट्टी दी गई थी।'" BSB BSB: but you went back and ate bread and drank water in the place where He told you not to do so, your body shall never reach the tomb of your fathers.’”
23 UDB जब उन्होंने खाना समाप्त कर लिया, तो बूढ़े व्यक्ति ने यहूदा के भविष्यद्वक्ता के लिए गधे पर एक काठी लगाई, और यहूदा का भविष्यद्वक्ता चला गया। BSB BSB: And after the man of God had finished eating and drinking, the old prophet who had brought him back saddled the donkey for him.

BSB BSB: When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard this, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the lion, and it has mauled him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD had spoken to him.”
27 UDB तब उसने अपने पुत्रों से कहा, "मेरे गधे पर एक काठी रखो।" उन्होंने ऐसा किया। BSB BSB: Then the old prophet instructed his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” So they saddled it,
28 UDB फिर वह गधे पर सवार होकर गया उसने भविष्यद्वक्ता की लाश को सड़क पर पाया, और उसका गधा और शेर अभी भी लाश के पास खड़े थे। शेर ने भविष्यद्वक्ता के माँस में से कुछ भी नहीं खाया था और गधे पर आक्रमण नहीं किया था। BSB BSB: and he went and found the body lying in the road, with the donkey and the lion standing beside it. The lion had not eaten the body or mauled the donkey.
29 UDB बूढ़े व्यक्ति ने भविष्यद्वक्ता की लाश उठाई और उसे अपने गधे पर रखा और शोक करने और उसकी लाश को मिट्टी देने के लिए बेतेल वापस लाया। BSB BSB: So the old prophet lifted up the body of the man of God, laid it on the donkey, and brought it back to his own city to mourn for him and bury him.

Lay my bones beside his bones,

He ordained anyone who desired to be a priest of the high places.
