He called down bitter curses against me on the day I went to Mahanaim, but when he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the LORD: ‘I will never put you to the sword.’
9 UDB लेकिन अब तुझको निश्चित रूप से उसे दण्डित करना होगा। तू एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति है, इसलिए तू जान लेगा कि तुझे उसके साथ क्या करना चाहिए। वह एक बूढ़ा व्यक्ति है, लेकिन यह सुनिश्चित करना कि उसके मरने पर उसका खून बहे।" BSB BSB: Now therefore, do not hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man. You know what you ought to do to him to bring his gray head down to Sheol in blood.”

12 UDB सुलैमान अपने पिता दाऊद की जगह शासक बन गया और उसने सम्पूर्ण राज्य पर नियंत्रण कर लिया। BSB BSB: So Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was firmly established.

The king stood up to greet her, bowed to her, and sat down on his throne. Then the king had a throne brought for his mother, who sat down at his right hand.

BSB BSB: King Solomon answered his mother, “Why do you request Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Since he is my older brother, you might as well request the kingdom for him and for Abiathar the priest and for Joab son of Zeruiah!”

BSB BSB: Then King Solomon swore by the LORD: “May God punish me, and ever so severely, if Adonijah has not made this request at the expense of his life.
24 UDB यहोवा ने मुझे राजा बनने के लिए नियुक्त किया है और मुझे मेरे पिता दाऊद के रूप में शासन करने के लिए यहाँ स्थापित किया है। उन्होंने वादा किया है कि मेरे वंशज इस्राएल के राजा होंगे। निश्चित रूप से यहोवा जीवित हैं, अत: मैं सत्यनिष्ठापूर्वक वादा करता हूँ कि आज ही अदोनिय्याह मार डाला जाएगा!" BSB BSB: And now, as surely as the LORD lives—the One who established me, who set me on the throne of my father David, and who founded for me a dynasty as He promised—surely Adonijah shall be put to death today!”
25 UDB तब राजा सुलैमान ने बनायाह को अदोनिय्याह को मारने का आदेश दिया, और बनायाह ने ऐसा किया। BSB BSB: So King Solomon gave orders to Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he struck down Adonijah and he died.
26 UDB तब सुलैमान ने याजक एब्यातार से कहा, "वहाँ अनातोत के नगर अपने देश में जा। तू मरने के योग्य है, परन्तु मैं अब तुझे मृत्युदण्ड नहीं दूँगा, क्योंकि तू ही ऐसा व्यक्ति था जिसने मेरे पिता दाऊद के लिए यहोवा के पवित्र सन्दूक को उठानेवालों की देखभाल कि थी, और तुने मेरे पिता के साथ सभी परेशानियों को सहन किया।" BSB BSB: Then the king said to Abiathar the priest, “Go back to your fields in Anathoth. Even though you deserve to die, I will not put you to death at this time, since you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before my father David, and you suffered through all that my father suffered.”
27 UDB तब सुलैमान ने एब्यातार को यहोवा के याजक पद से हटा दिया। ऐसा करने से वह हुआ जो यहोवा ने कई वर्षों पहले शीलो में कहा था, कि किसी दिन वह एली के वंशजों से छुटकारा पाएगा। BSB BSB: So Solomon banished Abiathar from the priesthood of the LORD and thus fulfilled the word that the LORD had spoken at Shiloh against the house of Eli.

Strike him down and bury him, and so remove from me and from the house of my father the innocent blood that Joab shed.

34 UDB तब बनायाह पवित्र तम्बू में गया और योआब को मार डाला। योआब को यहूदा के जंगल में उसकी निज भूमि में मिट्टी दी गई। BSB BSB: So Benaiah son of Jehoiada went up, struck down Joab, and killed him. He was buried at his own home in the wilderness.

38 UDB शिमी ने उत्तर दिया, "हे महामहिम, जो तू कहता है वह अच्छा है। तुने जो कहा है वह मैं करूँगा।" तो शिमी कई वर्षों तक यरूशलेम में रहा। BSB BSB: “The sentence is fair,” Shimei replied. “Your servant will do as my lord the king has spoken.” And Shimei lived in Jerusalem for a long time.

42 UDB तब राजा ने शिमी को बुलाने के लिए एक सैनिक भेजा और उससे कहा, "मैंने तुझको सत्यनिष्ठापूर्वक यहोवा के समक्ष यह वादा करने के लिए कहा था कि, तू यरूशलेम नहीं छोड़ेगा। मैंने तुझसे कहा, 'सुनिश्चित कर कि यदि तू कभी यरूशलेम छोड़ेगा, तुझको मार डाला जाएगा' और तूने मुझे उत्तर दिया, 'तुने जो कहा है वह अच्छा है; मैं वह करूँगा जो तुने कहा है।' BSB BSB: the king summoned Shimei and said to him, “Did I not make you swear by the LORD and warn you, ‘On the day you leave and go elsewhere, know for sure that you will die’? And you told me, ‘The sentence is fair; I will comply.’
43 UDB तो तूने ऐसा क्यों नहीं किया जो तुने परमेश्वर से सत्यनिष्ठापूर्वक वादा किया था? मैंने जो आज्ञा दी थी, उसका उल्लंघन क्यों किया?" BSB BSB: So why have you not kept your oath to the LORD and the command that I gave you?”
44 UDB राजा ने शिमी से कहा, "तू स्वयं जानता है उन सभी बुरे कामों को जो तुने मेरे पिता दाऊद के लिए किए थे। इसलिए यहोवा अब तुम्हें उन बुरे कामों के लिए दण्डित करेंगे। BSB BSB: The king also said, “You know in your heart all the evil that you did to my father David. Therefore the LORD will bring your evil back upon your head.
45 UDB परन्तु यहोवा मुझे आशीर्वाद देंगे, और दाऊद के वंशजों को सर्वदा के लिए शासन करने में सक्षम बनाएँगे।" BSB BSB: But King Solomon will be blessed and David’s throne will remain secure before the LORD forever.”
46 UDB तब राजा ने यहोयादा के पुत्र बनायाह को आज्ञा दी। वह बाहर गया और उसने शिमी को मार डाला। अतः सुलैमान ने राज्य को सम्पूर्ण नियंत्रण में ले लिया। BSB BSB: Then the king commanded Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei down, and he died. Thus the kingdom was firmly established in the hand of Solomon.
