This room was near the chamber of the officials, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah son of Shallum the doorkeeper.

7 UDB और तुम्हें घरों का निर्माण नहीं करना चाहिए या दाख के बाग या अन्य फसलें नहीं उगाना चाहिए। इसकी अपेक्षा, तुम्हें सदा तम्बू में रहना होगा। यदि तुम उन आदेशों का पालन करोगे, तो तुम सब इस देश में कई वर्षों तक रहोगे।’ BSB BSB: Nor are you ever to build a house or sow seed or plant a vineyard. Those things are not for you. Instead, you must live in tents all your lives, so that you may live a long time in the land where you wander.’
8 UDB इसलिए हम उन सब बातों में उनका पालन करते हैं। हमने कभी दाखरस नहीं पीया है। हमारी पत्नियाँ और हमारे पुत्र और पुत्रियों ने भी कभी दाखरस नहीं पीया है। BSB BSB: And we have obeyed the voice of our forefather Jonadab son of Rechab in all he commanded us. So we have not drunk wine all our lives—neither we nor our wives nor our sons and daughters.
9 UDB हमने घरों को भी नहीं बनाया या बागों या अन्य फसलों को नहीं लगाया है या खेतों में कार्य नहीं किया है। BSB BSB: Nor have we built houses in which to live, and we have not owned any vineyards or fields or crops.
10 UDB हम तम्बू में रहते हैं। हमने उन सब आज्ञाओं का पालन किया है जो हमारे पूर्वज योनादाब ने हमें दी हैं। BSB BSB: But we have lived in tents and have obeyed and done exactly as our forefather Jonadab commanded us.
11 UDB परन्तु जब राजा नबूकदनेस्सर की सेना ने इस देश पर आक्रमण किया, तो हमने कहा, ‘हमें बाबेल और अराम की सेनाओं से बचने के लिए यरूशलेम जाना होगा।’ तो, हम यरूशलेम आए और हम यहाँ रह रहे हैं।” BSB BSB: So when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched into the land, we said: ‘Come, let us go into Jerusalem to escape the armies of the Chaldeans and the Arameans.’ So we have remained in Jerusalem.”

He commanded his sons not to drink wine, and they have not drunk it to this very day because they have obeyed the command of their forefather. But I have spoken to you again and again, and you have not obeyed Me!
15 UDB कई बार मैंने तुम्हारे लिए भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को भेजा। उन्होंने तुमसे कहा, ‘अपने दुष्ट व्यवहार से दूर हो जाओ, और उन कार्यों को करो जो तुम्हें करने चाहिए। अन्य देवताओं की उपासना करना बन्द करो, जिससे कि तुम इस देश में शान्तिपूर्वक रह सको जो मैंने तुम्हें और तुम्हारे पूर्वजों को दिया था।’ परन्तु तुम मेरी बातों पर ध्यान नहीं देते और न ही मेरा आज्ञापालन करते। BSB BSB: Again and again I have sent you all My servants the prophets, proclaiming: ‘Turn now, each of you, from your wicked ways, and correct your actions. Do not go after other gods to serve them. Live in the land that I have given to you and your fathers.’ But you have not inclined your ear or listened to Me.
16 UDB योनादाब के वंशजों ने अपने पूर्वजों का आज्ञापालन किया है, परन्तु मैंने जो कहा है उस पर ध्यान देने से तुमने मना कर दिया है। BSB BSB: Yes, the sons of Jonadab son of Rechab carried out the command their forefather gave them, but these people have not listened to Me.
17 UDB इस कारण, स्वर्गदूतों की सेनाओं के प्रधान, यहोवा, जिस परमेश्वर की इस्राएल आराधना करता है, कहते हैं: ‘तुमने मेरी बात सुनने से मना कर दिया है और जब मैंने तुम्हें पुकारा तो तुमने उत्तर नहीं दिया। इसलिए, मैं यरूशलेम और यहूदा के अन्य स्थानों में सब लोगों पर विपत्तियाँ डालूँगा जिनके लिए मैंने कहा है कि मैं करूँगा।’” BSB BSB: Therefore this is what the LORD God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will bring to Judah and to all the residents of Jerusalem all the disaster I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken to them but they have not obeyed, and I have called to them but they have not answered.’”

19 UDB इसलिए, यहोवा यही कहते हैं: “योनादाब के वंशज होंगे जो सदा मेरे लिए कार्य करेंगे।” BSB BSB: this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Jonadab son of Rechab will never fail to have a man to stand before Me.’”
