2 ULB बुद्धिमान ज्ञान का ठीक बखान करते हैं, परन्तु मूर्खों के मुँह से मूर्खता उबल आती है। BSB BSB: The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.
3 ULB यहोवा की आँखें सब स्थानों में लगी रहती हैं*, वह बुरे भले दोनों को देखती रहती हैं। BSB BSB: The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.
4 ULB शान्ति देनेवाली बात जीवन-वृक्ष है, परन्तु उलट फेर की बात से आत्मा दुःखित होती है। BSB BSB: A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
5 ULB मूर्ख अपने पिता की शिक्षा का तिरस्कार करता है, परन्तु जो डाँट को मानता, वह विवेकी हो जाता है। BSB BSB: A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction is prudent.
6 ULB धर्मी के घर में बहुत धन रहता है, परन्तु दुष्ट के कमाई में दुःख रहता है। BSB BSB: The house of the righteous has great treasure, but the income of the wicked is trouble.
7 ULB बुद्धिमान लोग बातें करने से ज्ञान को फैलाते हैं, परन्तु मूर्खों का मन ठीक नहीं रहता। BSB BSB: The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but not so the hearts of fools.
8 ULB दुष्ट लोगों के बलिदान से यहोवा घृणा करता है, परन्तु वह सीधे लोगों की प्रार्थना से प्रसन्न होता है। BSB BSB: The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
9 ULB दुष्ट के चालचलन से यहोवा को घृणा आती है, परन्तु जो धर्म का पीछा करता उससे वह प्रेम रखता है। BSB BSB: The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.
10 ULB जो मार्ग को छोड़ देता, उसको बड़ी ताड़ना मिलती है, और जो डाँट से बैर रखता, वह अवश्य मर जाता है। BSB BSB: Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.
11 ULB जब कि अधोलोक और विनाशलोक यहोवा के सामने खुले रहते हैं, तो निश्चय मनुष्यों के मन भी। BSB BSB: Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD—how much more the hearts of men!
12 ULB ठट्ठा करनेवाला डाँटे जाने से प्रसन्न नहीं होता, और न वह बुद्धिमानों के पास जाता है। BSB BSB: A mocker does not love to be reproved, nor will he consult the wise.
13 ULB मन आनन्दित होने से मुख पर भी प्रसन्नता छा जाती है, परन्तु मन के दुःख से आत्मा निराश होती है। BSB BSB: A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.
14 ULB समझनेवाले का मन ज्ञान की खोज में रहता है, परन्तु मूर्ख लोग मूर्खता से पेट भरते हैं। BSB BSB: A discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
15 ULB दुःखियारे* के सब दिन दुःख भरे रहते हैं, परन्तु जिसका मन प्रसन्न रहता है, वह मानो नित्य भोज में जाता है। BSB BSB: All the days of the oppressed are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.
16 ULB घबराहट के साथ बहुत रखे हुए धन से, यहोवा के भय के साथ थोड़ा ही धन उत्तम है, BSB BSB: Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with turmoil.
17 ULB प्रेमवाले घर में सागपात का भोजन, बैरवाले घर में स्वादिष्ट माँस खाने से उत्तम है। BSB BSB: Better a dish of vegetables where there is love than a fattened ox with hatred.
18 ULB क्रोधी पुरुष झगड़ा मचाता है, परन्तु जो विलम्ब से क्रोध करनेवाला है, वह मुकद्दमों को दबा देता है। BSB BSB: A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger calms dispute.
19 ULB आलसी का मार्ग काँटों से रुन्धा हुआ होता है, परन्तु सीधे लोगों का मार्ग राजमार्ग ठहरता है। BSB BSB: The way of the slacker is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.
20 ULB बुद्धिमान पुत्र से पिता आनन्दित होता है, परन्तु मूर्ख अपनी माता को तुच्छ जानता है। BSB BSB: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.
21 ULB निर्बुद्धि को मूर्खता से आनन्द होता है, परन्तु समझवाला मनुष्य सीधी चाल चलता है। BSB BSB: Folly is joy to one who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding walks a straight path.
22 ULB बिना सम्मति की कल्पनाएँ निष्फल होती हैं, परन्तु बहुत से मंत्रियों की सम्मति से सफलता मिलती है। BSB BSB: Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.
23 ULB सज्जन उत्तर देने से आनन्दित होता है, और अवसर पर कहा हुआ वचन क्या ही भला होता है! BSB BSB: A man takes joy in a fitting reply—and how good is a timely word!
24 ULB विवेकी के लिये जीवन का मार्ग ऊपर की ओर जाता है, इस रीति से वह अधोलोक में पड़ने से बच जाता है। BSB BSB: The path of life leads upward for the wise, that he may avoid going down to Sheol.
25 ULB यहोवा अहंकारियों के घर को ढा देता है, परन्तु विधवा की सीमाओं को अटल रखता है। BSB BSB: The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but He protects the boundaries of the widow.
26 ULB बुरी कल्पनाएँ यहोवा को घिनौनी लगती हैं, परन्तु शुद्ध जन के वचन मनभावने हैं। BSB BSB: The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the pure are pleasant to Him.
27 ULB लालची अपने घराने को दुःख देता है, परन्तु घूस से घृणा करनेवाला जीवित रहता है। BSB BSB: He who is greedy for unjust gain brings trouble on his household, but he who hates bribes will live.
28 ULB धर्मी मन में सोचता है कि क्या उत्तर दूँ, परन्तु दुष्टों के मुँह से बुरी बातें उबल आती हैं। BSB BSB: The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked blurts out evil.
29 ULB यहोवा दुष्टों से दूर रहता है, परन्तु धर्मियों की प्रार्थना सुनता है। (यूह. 9:31) BSB BSB: The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
30 ULB आँखों की चमक* से मन को आनन्द होता है, और अच्छे समाचार से हड्डियाँ पुष्ट होती हैं। BSB BSB: The light of the eyes cheers the heart, and good news nourishes the bones.
31 ULB जो जीवनदायी डाँट कान लगाकर सुनता है, वह बुद्धिमानों के संग ठिकाना पाता है। BSB BSB: He who listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.
32 ULB जो शिक्षा को अनसुनी करता, वह अपने प्राण को तुच्छ जानता है, परन्तु जो डाँट को सुनता, वह बुद्धि प्राप्त करता है। BSB BSB: He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.
33 ULB यहोवा के भय मानने से बुद्धि की शिक्षा प्राप्त होती है, और महिमा से पहले नम्रता आती है। BSB BSB: The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
