1. 1ULBKarena aku ingin kamu tahu betapa besar perjuangan yang telah aku lakukan untukmu, untuk mereka di Laodikia, dan untuk mereka yang belum melihat wajahku secara langsung.BSBBSB: For I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me face to face,
2. 2ULBAku berusaha supaya hati mereka terdorong dengan membawa mereka bersama-sama dalam kasih dan dalam semua kekayaan dan jaminan penuh oleh pengertian, ke dalam pengetahuan tentang rahasia kebenaran Allah, yaitu, Kristus.BSBBSB: that they may be encouraged in heart, knit together in love, and filled with the full riches of complete understanding, so that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ,
3. 3ULBDi dalam Dialah tersembunyi semua harta dari hikmat dan pengetahuan.BSBBSB: in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4. 4ULBAku mengatakan hal ini supaya tidak ada seorangpun menipu kamu dengan kata-kata mereka yang meyakinkan.BSBBSB: I say this so that no one will deceive you by smooth rhetoric.
5. 5ULBDan walaupun aku tidak bersama-sama dengan kamu secara jasmani, aku tetap bersama kamu di dalam roh. Aku bersukacita melihat baiknya perbuatanmu dan kuatnya imanmu di dalam Kristus.BSBBSB: For although I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, and I delight to see your orderly condition and firm faith in Christ.
6. 6ULBSeperti kamu telah menerima Kristus Tuhan, berjalanlah di dalamNya,BSBBSB: Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in Him,
7. 7ULBBerakar kuatlah di dalamNya, dibangun di atasNya, di teguhkan di dalam iman seperti yang telah diajarkan kepadamu, dan berlimpah-limpahlah dalam syukur.BSBBSB: rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
8. 8ULBLihatlah bahwa tidak seorangpun yang dapat menjeratmu melalui filsafat dan tipu dayanya yang kosong yang adalah hasil dari adat istiadat manusia, yang sesuai dengan unsur-unsur yang berasal dari dunia, dan yang tidak sesuai dengan Kristus.BSBBSB: See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ.
9. 9ULBKarena dalam Dia berdiam seluruh kesempurnaan kejasmanian Allah.BSBBSB: For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form.
10. 10ULBDan kamu telah dipenuhi di dalamNya. Ia adalah kepala dari segala kekuatan dan kekuasaan.BSBBSB: And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
11. 11ULBDi dalam Dia, kamu telah disunat dengan sunat yang tidak dilakukan oleh manusia, melainkan sunat di dalam Allah.BSBBSB: In Him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of your sinful nature, with the circumcision performed by Christ and not by human hands.
12. 12ULBKamu telah dikubur bersamaNya di dalam baptisan. Dan di dalam Dia kamu dibangkitkan oleh iman dalam kuasa Allah, yang membangkitkan Dia dari antara orang mati.BSBBSB: And having been buried with Him in baptism, you were raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead.
13. 13ULBDan ketika kamu mati oleh karena pelanggaran-pelanggaran dan tidak bersunat secara jasmani, Ia membuatmu hidup bersama dengan Dia dan mengampuni semua pelanggaran kita.BSBBSB: When you were dead in your trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses,
14. 14ULBIa menghapuskan dosa-dosa yang tertulis dan peraturan-peraturan yang melawan kita. Ia menghapuskan itu semua dan memakunya pada salib.BSBBSB: having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross!
15. 15ULBIa menghapuskan segala kekuatan dan kekuasaan. Ia secara terbuka menunjukkan mereka kemenangan melalui salibNya.BSBBSB: And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
16. 16ULBMaka dari itu, jangan biarkan seorangpun menghakimimu dalam hal makanan atau minuman, atau tentang hari raya atau bulan baru, atau tentang hari-hari Sabat.BSBBSB: Therefore let no one judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a feast, a New Moon, or a Sabbath.
17. 17ULBSemua ini adalah bayangan dari sesuatu yang akan datang, tetapi hakekatnya adalah Kristus.BSBBSB: These are a shadow of the things to come, but the body that casts it belongs to Christ.
18. 18ULBJangan ada orang menghakimi kamu sehingga kamu keluar dari anugerah yang kamu terima yaitu mereka yang berpura-pura merendahkan diri dan memuja para malaikat. Seperti seorang yang masuk ke dalam sesuatu yang telah dilihatnya dan menjadi sombong melalui pikiran kedagingannya.BSBBSB: Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you with speculation about what he has seen. Such a person is puffed up without basis by his unspiritual mind.
19. 19ULBIa tidak berpegang pada kepala. Dari kepala itulah seluruh tubuh serta setiap ruas-ruas dan sendi-sendi terhubung menjadi satu; Itu bertumbuh dengan pertumbuhan yang diberikan oleh Allah.BSBBSB: He has lost connection to the head, from whom the whole body, supported and knit together by its joints and ligaments, grows as God causes it to grow.
20. 20ULBJikalau kamu telah mati bersama-sama dengan Kristus kepada prinsip-prinsip dunia ini, mengapa kamu hidup menuruti kehendak dunia:BSBBSB: If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its regulations:
21. 21ULB"Jangan jamah, jangan kecap, jangan sentuh"?BSBBSB: “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”?
22. 22ULBSemua hal ini diperuntukan untuk kecurangan, berdasarkan perintah-perintah dan pengajaran-pengajaran dari manusia.BSBBSB: These will all perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.
23. 23ULBAturan-aturan ini memiliki kebijaksanaan sendiri-dibuat agama dan kerendahan hati serta kesederhanaan yang dibuat-buat. Tetapi mereka tidak memiliki nilai yang bisa melawan kesenangan dari kedagingan.BSBBSB: Such restrictions indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-prescribed worship, their false humility, and their harsh treatment of the body; but they are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
