1OR queste sono le generazioni di Aaronne e di Mosè, al tempo che il Signore parlò con Mosè, nel monte di Sinai.This is the account of Aaron and Moses at the time the LORD spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai.

2E questi sono i nomi de' figliuoli d'Aaronne: Nadab il primogenito, e Abihu, Eleazaro e Itamar.These are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, then Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

3Questi sono i nomi de' figliuoli d'Aaronne, sacerdoti, i quali furono unti e consacrati, per esercitare il sacerdozio.These were Aaron’s sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.

4Or Nadab ed Abihu morirono davanti al Signore, quando offersero fuoco strano nel cospetto del Signore, nel deserto di Sinai; e non ebbero figliuoli; ed Eleazaro e Itamar esercitarono il sacerdozio nella presenza d'Aaronne, lor padre.Nadab and Abihu, however, died in the presence of the LORD when they offered unauthorized fire before the LORD in the Wilderness of Sinai. And since they had no sons, only Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron.

5E il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:Then the LORD said to Moses,

6Fa' appressar la tribù di Levi, e falla comparir davanti al Sacerdote Aaronne, acciocchè gli ministrino.“Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him.

7E facciano la fazione di esso, e la fazione di tutta la raunanza, davanti al Tabernacolo della convenenza, facendo i servigi del Tabernacolo.They are to perform duties for him and for the whole congregation before the Tent of Meeting, attending to the service of the tabernacle.

8E abbiano in guardia tutti gli arredi del Tabernacolo della convenenza; e in somma facciano la fazione de' figliuoli d'Israele, facendo i servigi del Tabernacolo.They shall take care of all the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and fulfill obligations for the Israelites by attending to the service of the tabernacle.

9Così da' i Leviti ad Aaronne, e a' suoi figliuoli; essi gli sono dati in dono d'infra i figliuoli d'Israele.Assign the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they have been given exclusively to him from among the Israelites.

10E costituisci Aaronne e i suoi figliuoli, a far la fazione del lor sacerdozio; e se alcuno straniere vi si appressa, sia fatto morire.So you shall appoint Aaron and his sons to carry out the duties of the priesthood; but any outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”

11Oltre a ciò, il Signore parlò a Mosè dicendo:Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

12Ecco, io ho presi i Leviti d'infra i figliuoli d'Israele in luogo di tutti i primogeniti che aprono la matrice fra i figliuoli d'Israele; perciò i Leviti saranno miei.“Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel in place of every firstborn Israelite from the womb. The Levites belong to Me,

13Conciossiachè ogni primogenito sia mio; nel giorno che io percossi tutti i primogeniti nel paese di Egitto, io mi consacrai tutti i primogeniti d'Israele, così degli uomini, come degli animali; essi hanno ad esser miei. Io sono il Signore.for all the firstborn are Mine. On the day I struck down every firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They are Mine; I am the LORD.”

14Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè, nel deserto di Sinai, dicendo:Then the LORD spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15Annovera i figliuoli di Levi, per le lor famiglie paterne, e per le lor nazioni, annovera ogni maschio d'infra loro, dall'età d'un mese in su.“Number the Levites by their families and clans. You are to count every male a month old or more.”

16E Mosè li annoverò secondo il comandamento del Signore, come gli era stato imposto.So Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he had been commanded.

17Or questi furono i figliuoli di Levi, secondo i lor nomi; Gherson, e Chehat, e Merari.These were the sons of Levi by name: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

18E questi sono i nomi de' figliuoli di Gherson, distini per le lor nazioni; Libni e Simei.These were the names of the sons of Gershon by their clans: Libni and Shimei.

19E i figliuoli di Chehat, distinti per le lor nazioni, furono Amram, e Ishar, e Hebron, e Uzziel.The sons of Kohath by their clans were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20E i figliuoli di Merari, distinti per le lor nazioni, furono Mahali e Musi. Queste sono le nazioni de' Leviti, distinte per le lor famiglie paterne.And the sons of Merari by their clans were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites, according to their families.

21Di Gherson fu la nazione de' Libniti, e la nazione de' Simeiti. Queste furono le nazioni de' Ghersoniti.From Gershon came the Libnite clan and the Shimeite clan; these were the Gershonite clans.

22De' quali gli annoverati, contati tutti i maschi dall'età d'un mese in su, furono settemila cinquecento.The number of all the males a month old or more was 7,500.

23Le nazioni de' Ghersoniti furono dietro al Tabernacolo, verso il Ponente.The Gershonite clans were to camp on the west, behind the tabernacle,

24E il capo della famiglia paterna de' Ghersoniti fu Eliasaf, figliuolo di Lael.and the leader of the families of the Gershonites was Eliasaph son of Lael.

25E la fazione de' figliuoli di Gherson, nel Tabernacolo della convenenza, era il Tabernacolo e la Tenda, la Coverta di essa, e il Tappeto dell'entrata del Tabernacolo della convenenza;The duties of the Gershonites at the Tent of Meeting were the tabernacle and tent, its covering, the curtain for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,

26e le cortine del Cortile, insieme col Tappeto dell'entrata del Cortile, d'intorno al Padiglione e all'Altare, e le sue corde, per tutti i suoi servigi.the curtains of the courtyard, the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard that surrounds the tabernacle and altar, and the cords—all the service for these items.

27E di Chehat fu la nazione degli Amramiti, e la nazione degl'Ishariti, e la nazione degli Hebroniti, e la nazione degli Uzzieliti. Queste sono le nazioni de' Chehatiti.From Kohath came the clans of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites; these were the clans of the Kohathites.

28I quali, contati tutti i maschi, dall'età d'un mese in su, furono ottomila seicento, che facevano la fazione del Santuario.The number of all the males a month old or more was 8,600. They were responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.

29Le nazioni de' figliuoli di Chehat doveano accamparsi allato al Tabernacolo verso il Mezzodì.The clans of the Kohathites were to camp on the south side of the tabernacle,

30E il capo delle famiglie paterne delle nazioni de' Chehatiti fu Elisafan, figliuolo d'Uzziel.and the leader of the families of the Kohathites was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.

31E la lor fazione era l'Arca e la Tavola, e il Candelliere, e gli Altari, e i vasellamenti del Santuario, co' quali si faceva il ministerio, e la Cortina, e tutti i suoi servigi.Their duties were the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the articles of the sanctuary used with them, and the curtain—all the service for these items.

32Ed Eleazaro, figliuolo del Sacerdote Aaronne, era Capo de' capi de' Leviti; essendo Sopraintendente di coloro che facevano la fazione del Santuario.The chief of the leaders of the Levites was Eleazar son of Aaron the priest; he oversaw those responsible for the duties of the sanctuary.

33Di Merari fu la nazione de' Mahaliti, e la nazione de' Musiti. Queste sono le nazioni de' Merariti.From Merari came the clans of the Mahlites and Mushites; these were the Merarite clans.

34De' quali gli annoverati, contati tutti i maschi dall'età d'un mese in su, furono seimila dugento.The number of all the males a month old or more was 6,200.

35E il capo delle famiglie paterne delle nazioni de' Merariti fu Suriel, figliuolo di Abihail. Essi doveano accamparsi allato al Tabernacolo, verso il Settentrione.The leader of the families of the Merarites was Zuriel son of Abihail; they were to camp on the north side of the tabernacle.

36E il carico della fazione de' figliuoli di Merari era le assi, e le sbarre, e le colonne, e i piedistalli del Tabernacolo, e tutti i suoi tali arredi, e tutti tali suoi servigi;The duties assigned to the sons of Merari were the tabernacle’s frames, crossbars, posts, bases, and all its equipment—all the service for these items,

37e le colonne del Cortile d'intorno, e i lor piedistalli, e i lor piuoli, e le lor corde.as well as the posts of the surrounding courtyard with their bases, tent pegs, and ropes.

38E quelli che doveano accamparsi davanti alla Tenda, verso il Levante, dalla parte anteriore del Tabernacolo della convenenza, verso l'Oriente, erano Mosè e Aaronne, e i suoi figliuoli; i quali facevano la fazione del Santuario, in vece ed a nome de' figliuoli d'Israele; in maniera, che se alcuno straniere vi si appressava, dovea esser fatto morire.Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but any outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.

39Tutti gli annoverati d'infra i Leviti, i quali Mosè ed Aaronne, per comandamento del Signore, annoverarono per le lor nazioni, cioè: tutti i maschi, dall'età d'un mese in su, furono ventiduemila.The total number of Levites that Moses and Aaron counted by their clans at the LORD’s command, including all the males a month old or more, was 22,000.

40POI il Signore disse a Mosè: Annovera tutti i primogeniti maschi d'infra i figliuoli d'Israele, dall'età d'un mese in su; e leva la somma de' loro nomi.Then the LORD said to Moses, “Number every firstborn male of the Israelites a month old or more, and list their names.

41E prendi per me, io sono il Signore, i Leviti, in luogo di tutti i primogeniti d'infra i figliuoli d'Israele; prendi parimente il bestiame de' Leviti, in luogo di tutti i primogeniti del bestiame dei figliuoli d'Israele.You are to take the Levites for Me—I am the LORD—in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of all the firstborn of the livestock of the Israelites.”

42E Mosè annoverò tutti i primogeniti d'infra i figliuoli d'Israele, come il Signore gli avea comandato.So Moses numbered all the firstborn of the Israelites, as the LORD had commanded him.

43E tutti i primogeniti maschi, secondo che furono annoverati, contati per nome, dall'età di un mese in su, furono ventiduemila dugensettantatrè.The total number of the firstborn males a month old or more, listed by name, was 22,273.

44Il Signore parlò ancora a Mosè, dicendo:Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

45Prendi i Leviti in luogo di tutti i primogeniti d'infra i figliuoli d'Israele; e il bestiame de' Leviti in luogo del bestiame di essi; e sieno i Leviti miei. Io sono il Signore.“Take the Levites in place of all the firstborn of Israel, and the livestock of the Levites in place of their livestock. The Levites belong to Me; I am the LORD.

46E per lo riscatto di que' dugensettantatrè, de' primogeniti dei figliuoli d'Israele, che son di avanzo sopra il numero de' Leviti;To redeem the 273 firstborn Israelites who outnumber the Levites,

47prendi cinque sicli per testa, a siclo di Santuario, che è di venti oboli.you are to collect five shekels for each one, according to the sanctuary shekel of twenty gerahs.

48E da' ad Aaronne, e a' suoi figliuoli, i danari del riscatto di coloro che son di avanzo fra' primogeniti.Give the money to Aaron and his sons as the redemption price for the excess among the Israelites.”

49Mosè adunque prese i danari del riscatto, da coloro ch'erano stati d'avanzo de' riscattati per i Leviti.So Moses collected the redemption money from those in excess of the number redeemed by the Levites.

50Egli prese que' danari da' primogeniti de' figliuoli d'Israele, che furono milletrecensessantacinque sicli, a siclo di Santuario.He collected the money from the firstborn of the Israelites: 1,365 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel.

51E Mosè diede i danari del riscatto ad Aaronne, e a' suoi figliuoli, secondo il comandamento del Signore, come il Signore gli avea imposto.And Moses gave the redemption money to Aaron and his sons in obedience to the word of the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.
