1ದಾವೀದನ ಕೊನೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳು- ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು, ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನು, ಯಾಕೋಬನ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ವರಕವಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವವನ ನುಡಿಗಳು:These are the last words of David: “The oracle of David son of Jesse, the oracle of the man raised on high, the one anointed by the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel:

2<<ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾತನಾಡಿತು. ಆತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು.The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me; His word was on my tongue.

3ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಶರಣನೂ, ದೇವರೂ ಆಗಿರುವಾತನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ನೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಳುವವನು,The God of Israel spoke; the Rock of Israel said to me, ‘He who rules the people with justice, who rules in the fear of God,

4ಮೋಡಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ ಪ್ರಾತಃಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಜೋಮಯನಾಗಿ ಉದಯಿಸಿ, ಮೋಡಗಳನ್ನು ಚದುರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಮಳೆಬಿದ್ದ ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಮೊಳೆಯಿಸುವ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.is like the light of the morning at sunrise of a cloudless dawn, the glistening after the rain on the sprouting grass of the earth.’

5ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ? ಆತನು ನನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅದು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋಗದೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಿಷಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ನನ್ನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಮೂಲವೂ, ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಲಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸುವವನೂ ಆತನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ?Is not my house right with God? For He has established with me an everlasting covenant, ordered and secured in every part. Will He not bring about my full salvation and my every desire?

6ದುಷ್ಟರು ದೂರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಸಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳಂತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿಯಲಾರದೆ,But the worthless are all like thorns raked aside, for they can never be gathered by hand.

7ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಆಯುಧವನ್ನೂ, ಬರ್ಜಿಯ ಹಿಡಿಯನ್ನೂ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅವು ಬಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಟ್ಟುಹೋಗುವವು.>>The man who touches them must be armed with iron or with the shaft of a spear. The fire burns them to ashes in the place where they lie.”

8ದಾವೀದನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದ ರಣವೀರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ: ತಹ್ಕೆಮೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಯೋಷಬ್ ಬಷ್ಬೆಬೆತನು ಸರದಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನು. ಎಚ್ನೀಯನಾದ ಅದೀನೋ ಅನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಇವನು ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಎಂಟುನೂರು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.These are the names of David’s mighty men: Josheb-basshebeth the Tahchemonite was chief of the Three. He wielded his spear against eight hundred men, whom he killed at one time.

9ಎರಡನೆಯವನು ಅಹೋಹ್ಯನಾದ ದೋದೋ ಎಂಬುವವನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾಜಾರನು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಶೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನೂ ಒಬ್ಬನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.Next in command was Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite. As one of the three mighty men, he went with David to taunt the Philistines who had gathered for battle at Pas-dammim. The men of Israel retreated,

10ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹೋದ ನಂತರ ಇವನು ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಕತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿದು, ಕೈ ಸೋತು ಹೋಗುವ ತನಕ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದನು. ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮಹಾಜಯವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಲು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದರು.but Eleazar stood his ground and struck the Philistines until his hand grew weary and stuck to his sword. The LORD brought about a great victory that day. Then the troops returned to him, but only to plunder the dead.

11ಮೂರನೆಯವನು ಹರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಆಗೇಯನ ಮಗ ಶಮ್ಮ ಎಂಬುವವನು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಅಲಸಂದಿಯ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.And after him was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. When the Philistines had banded together near a field full of lentils, Israel’s troops fled from them.

12ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಅವರ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋದಾಗ, ಇವನು ಆ ಹೊಲದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು, ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮಹಾಜಯವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿದನು.But Shammah took his stand in the middle of the field, defended it, and struck down the Philistines. So the LORD brought about a great victory.

13ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಶೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನು ಅದುಲ್ಲಾಮ್ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಸುಗ್ಗಿಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮೂವರು ಬಂದರು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿ ಬಂದು ರೆಫಾಯೀಮ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ,At harvest time, three of the thirty chief men went down to David at the cave of Adullam, while a company of Philistines was encamped in the Valley of Rephaim.

14ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಅದುಲ್ಲಾಮ್ ದುರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡನ್ನಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು.At that time David was in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was at Bethlehem.

15ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೀದನು ಲವಲವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ <<ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್ ಊರಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು>> ಎಂದೂ ಕೇಳಿದನು.David longed for water and said, “Oh, that someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!”

16ಕೂಡಲೇ ಆ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಸೇದಿ, ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.So the three mighty men broke through the Philistine camp, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem, and brought it back to David. But he refused to drink it; instead, he poured it out to the LORD,

17ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ, <<ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದು ನನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗಿರಲಿ. ಜೀವದಾಶೆ ತೊರೆದವರ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕೆ? ಇದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊಯ್ದನು. ಆ ಮೂರು ಜನರು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.saying, “Far be it from me, O LORD, to do this! Is this not the blood of the men who risked their lives?” So he refused to drink it. Such were the exploits of the three mighty men.

18ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನೂ ಯೋವಾಬನ ತಮ್ಮನೂ ಆದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯು ಈ ಮೂರು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನು. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಬರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗಿ, ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿಹೊಂದಿದನು.Now Abishai, the brother of Joab and son of Zeruiah, was chief of the Three, and he wielded his spear against three hundred men, killed them, and won a name along with the Three.

19ಅ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಘನತೆಯುಳ್ಳವನೂ, ನಾಯಕನೂ ಇವನೇ. ಇವನು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಮೂರು ಜನರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗಿದ್ದನಲ್ಲವೇ?Was he not more honored than the Three? And he became their commander, even though he was not included among the Three.

20ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನೂ ಕಬ್ಜಯೇಲಿನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯೂ ಆದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು. ಇವನು ಅನೇಕ ಶೂರಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಾಂತವೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯನಾದ ಅರೀಯೇಲನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ಹಿಮಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸಿಂಹವು ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರಲು ಇವನು ಆ ಗುಂಡಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.And Benaiah son of Jehoiada was a man of valor from Kabzeel, a man of many exploits. He struck down two champions of Moab, and on a snowy day he went down into a pit and killed a lion.

21ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಉನ್ನತನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಬರ್ಜಿಯಿತ್ತು. ಇವನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಬರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಅದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.He also struck down an Egyptian, a huge man. Although the Egyptian had a spear in his hand, Benaiah went against him with a club, snatched the spear from his hand, and killed the Egyptian with his own spear.

22ಈ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮದ ಕೃತ್ಯದಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾದನು.These were the exploits of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, who won a name along with the three mighty men.

23ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನು ವಿಶೇಷ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಮೊದಲಿನ ಮೂವರು ಸೈನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ದಾವೀದನು ಇವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.He was most honored among the Thirty, but he did not become one of the Three. And David appointed him over his guard.

24ಮೂವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ರಣವೀರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ- ಯೋವಾಬನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಸಾಹೇಲನು,Now these were members of the Thirty: Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

25ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ದೋದೋವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲ್ಹಾನಾನ್, ಹರೋದಿನವರಾದ ಶಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲೀಕರು.Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,

26ಪೆಲೆಟಿನವನಾದ ಹೆಲೆಚ್, ತೆಕೋವದ ಇಕ್ಕೇಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಈರಾ,Helez the Paltite, Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

27ಅಣತೋತಿನವನಾದ ಅಬೀಯೆಜೆರ್, ಹುಷಾ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಮೆಬುನ್ನೈ,Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

28ಅಹೋಹಿನವನಾದ ಚಲ್ಮೋನ್, ನೆಟೋಫದವನಾದ ಮಹರೈ,Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

29ನೆಟೋಫದವನಾದ ಬಾಣನ ಮಗ ಹೇಲೆಬ್, ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ್ ದೇಶದ ಗಿಬೆಯ ಊರಿನ ರೀಬೈ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇತ್ತೈ,Heled son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai son of Ribai from Gibeah of the Benjamites,

30ಪಿರಾತೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯ, ನಹಲೇ ಗಾಷಿನವನಾದ ಹಿದ್ದೈ.Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai from the brooks of Gaash,

31ಅರಾಬಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನವನಾದ ಅಬೀ ಅಲ್ಬೋನ್, ಬರ್ಹುಮ್ಯನಾದ ಅಜ್ಮಾವೇತ್,Abi-albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,

32ಶಾಲ್ಬೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೆಯಖ್ಬಾ, ಯಾಷೇನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಯೋನಾತಾನನು,Eliahba the Shaalbonite, the sons of Jashen, Jonathan

33ಹರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಶಮ್ಮ, ಅರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಶಾರಾರನ ಮಗ ಅಹೀಯಾಮ್,son of Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam son of Sharar the Hararite,

34ಮಾಕಾ ಊರಿನ ಅಹಸ್ಬೈ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಫೆಲೆಟ್, ಗಿಲೋವಿನ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಯಾಮ್,Eliphelet son of Ahasbai the Maacathite, Eliam son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

35ಕರ್ಮೆಲ್ಯನಾದ ಹೆಚ್ರೋ, ಅರ್ಬೀಯನಾದ ಪಾರೈ,Hezro the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,

36ಚೋಬ ಊರಿನ ನಾತಾನ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಗಾಲ್, ಗಾದ್ಯನಾದ ಬಾನೀ,Igal son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

37ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯನಾದ ಚೆಲೆಕ್, ಬೇರೋತ್ಯನೂ ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನ ಆಯುಧವಾಹಕನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ನಹರೈZelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, the armor-bearer of Joab son of Zeruiah,

38ಇತ್ರೀಯರಾದ ಈರಾ ಮತ್ತು ಗಾರೇಬರು,Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,

39ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯ, ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮೂವತ್ತೇಳು ಮಂದಿ.and Uriah the Hittite. There were thirty-seven in all.
