16 ULB ವಂಶ ಪಾರಂಪರೆಯಾಗಿ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಪಾಳೆಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನ ಸಂತಾನದವರೂ ಇವರೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರ ಕುಲಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಅರಸರಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. BSB BSB: These were the sons of Ishmael, and these were their names by their villages and encampments—twelve princes of their tribes.

BSB BSB: and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan-aram and the sister of Laban the Aramean.
21 ULB ಆಕೆ ಬಂಜೆಯಾಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಇಸಾಕನು ಆಕೆಗೊಸ್ಕರ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಲಾಲಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ರೆಬೆಕ್ಕಳು ಬಸುರಾದಳು. BSB BSB: Later, Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. And the LORD heard his prayer, and his wife Rebekah conceived.

BSB BSB: But the children inside her struggled with each other, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So Rebekah went to inquire of the LORD,
23 ULB ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆಕೆಗೆ, <<ನಿನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಇವೆ; ಆ ಎರಡು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಹುಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುವವು; ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾಗುವುದು; ಹಿರಿಯವನು ಕಿರಿಯವನಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವನು>> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. BSB BSB: and He declared to her: “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”
24 ULB ಆಕೆ ದಿನತುಂಬಿದಾಗ ಅವಳಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು. BSB BSB: When her time came to give birth, there were indeed twins in her womb.
25 ULB ಮೊದಲು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಕೆಂಪಾಗಿಯೂ ಮೈಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೂದಲಿನ ವಸ್ತ್ರದಂತೆ ರೋಮವುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿಯೂ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ<< ಏಸಾವ>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು. BSB BSB: The first one came out red, covered with hair like a fur coat; so they named him Esau.
26 ULB ಎರಡನೆಯ ಶಿಶುವು ಏಸಾವನ ಹಿಮ್ಮಡಿಯನ್ನು ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ <<ಯಾಕೋಬ>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು. ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಇಸಾಕನು ಅರುವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: After this, his brother came out grasping Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when the twins were born.
27 ULB ಆ ಹುಡುಗರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಬೆಳೆದಾಗ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಏಸಾವನು ಬೇಟೆಯಾಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಪುಣನಾಗಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸಿ. ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಸಾಧು ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. BSB BSB: When the boys grew up, Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man who stayed at home.

30 ULB ಆ ಕೆಂಪಾದ ರುಚಿ ಪದಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಈಗಲೇ ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡು>> ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯಿಂದ ಏಸಾವನಿಗೆ <<ಎದೋಮ್>> ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು. BSB BSB: He said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am famished.” (That is why he was also called Edom.)

32 ULB ಏಸಾವನು, <<ಆಗಲಿ>> ನನ್ನಂಥ ಸಾಯುವವನಿಗೆ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲತನದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವೇನು ಅಂದನು. BSB BSB: “Look,” said Esau, “I am about to die, so what good is a birthright to me?”
33 ULB ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಮೊದಲು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡು ಅಂದಾಗ ಏಸಾವನು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲತನದ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: “Swear to me first,” Jacob said. So Esau swore to Jacob and sold him the birthright.
34 ULB ಆಗ ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಏಸಾವನಿಗೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅಲಸಂದಿ ಗುಗ್ಗರಿಯ ಪಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಏಸಾವನು ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿದು ಎದ್ದು ಹೋದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲತನದ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರ ಮಾಡಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು. BSB BSB: Then Jacob gave some bread and lentil stew to Esau, who ate and drank and then got up and went away. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
