2 ULB ಹೂವಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅರಳಿ ಬಾಡುವನು, ನೆರಳಿನಂತೆ ನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವನು. BSB BSB: Like a flower, he comes forth, then withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure.
3 ULB ನೀನು ಇಂಥವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟು, ನಿನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವಿಯಾ? BSB BSB: Do You open Your eyes to one like this? Will You bring him into judgment before You?
4 ULB ಅಶುದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಶುದ್ಧವು ಉಂಟಾದೀತೇ? ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: Who can bring out clean from unclean? No one!
5 ULB ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ದಿನಗಳು ಇಷ್ಟೇ ಎಂಬುದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ; ಅವನ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕವು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು; ದಾಟಲಾರದ ಗಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದಿ. BSB BSB: Since his days are determined and the number of his months is with You, and since You have set limits that he cannot exceed,
6 ULB ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ವಿರಾಮವಿರಲಿ, ಕೂಲಿಯವನಿಗಿರುವಷ್ಟು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯಲಿ. BSB BSB: look away from him and let him rest, so he can enjoy his day as a hired hand.
7 ULB ಕಡಿದ ಮರವೂ, ತಾನು ಮೊಳೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸದೆ, ಮತ್ತೆ ಚಿಗುರುವೆನೆಂದು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ! BSB BSB: For there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its tender shoots will not fail.

9 ULB ಮಳೆ ನೀರಿನ ವಾಸನೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಅದು ಮೊಳೆತು, ಚಿಗುರಿ ಗಿಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕವಲೊಡೆಯುವುದು. BSB BSB: at the scent of water it will bud and put forth twigs like a sapling.
10 ULB ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದರೋ ಸತ್ತು ಬೋರಲುಬೀಳುವನು, ಪ್ರಾಣಹೋಗಲು ಅವನ ಅಂತ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. BSB BSB: But a man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last, and where is he?
11 ULB ಸರೋವರದ ನೀರು ಬತ್ತುವಂತೆ, ನದಿಯ ನೀರು ಆವಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಣಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ, BSB BSB: As water disappears from the sea and a river becomes parched and dry,
12 ULB ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಏಳದೇ ಇರುವರು; ಆಕಾಶವು ಅಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವ ತನಕ ಅವರು ನಿದ್ರೆಯನ್ನು, ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: so a man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no more, he will not be awakened or roused from sleep.
13 ULB ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಪವು ಇಳಿಯುವ ವರೆಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಿ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಾತಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು, ನನಗೆ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡಿ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೇದು! BSB BSB: If only You would hide me in Sheol and conceal me until Your anger has passed! If only You would appoint a time for me and then remember me!
14 ULB ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸತ್ತು ಪುನಃ ಬದುಕುವನೇ? ಹಾಗಾಗುವುದಾದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ, ನನ್ನ ವಾಯಿದೆಯ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆನು. BSB BSB: When a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, until my renewal comes.
15 ULB ನೀನು ಕರೆದರೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವೆನು, ನೀನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹುಟ್ಟೀತು. BSB BSB: You will call, and I will answer; You will desire the work of Your hands.
16 ULB ಈಗ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಪಾಪದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾವಲಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ! BSB BSB: For then You would count my steps, but would not keep track of my sin.
17 ULB ನನ್ನ ದ್ರೋಹವನ್ನು ಚೀಲದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಮುದ್ರಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ. BSB BSB: My transgression would be sealed in a bag, and You would cover over my iniquity.
18 ULB ಆದರೆ ಪರ್ವತವೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಕರಗಿಹೋಗುವುದು, ಬಂಡೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಜರುಗುವುದು, BSB BSB: But as a mountain erodes and crumbles and a rock is dislodged from its place,
19 ULB ನೀರು ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸವೆಯಿಸುವುದು, ಜಲಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವವು. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವಿ. BSB BSB: as water wears away the stones and torrents wash away the soil, so You destroy a man’s hope.
20 ULB ನೀನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ಅಪಜಯವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಗತಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುವನು. ನೀನು ಅವನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ತೊಲಗಿಸಿಬಿಡುವಿ. BSB BSB: You forever overpower him, and he passes on; You change his countenance and send him away.
21 ULB ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಘನತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವುದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಅಧೋಗತಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದರೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗೋಚರವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: If his sons receive honor, he does not know it; if they are brought low, he is unaware.
22 ULB ಆದರೂ ಅವನ ದೇಹದ ಕಣಕಣವು ನೋವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದು, ಅವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸುವುದು.>> BSB BSB: He feels only the pain of his own body and mourns only for himself.”
