1ಆಗ ತೇಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಜನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಹೀಗೆಂದನು,Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:

2<<ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಣ ಗಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು, ಶೂನ್ಯವಾದ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಬಹುದೇ?“Does a wise man answer with empty counsel or fill his belly with the hot east wind?

3ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಿಲ್ಲದ ನುಡಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಫಲವಿಲ್ಲದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ತರ್ಕಿಸುವುದು ಯುಕ್ತವೋ?Should he argue with useless words or speeches that serve no purpose?

4ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀನು ದೇವರ ಭಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವೆ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ತಳ್ಳಿ ನನ್ನ ದೇವಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಯಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತೀ.But you even undermine the fear of God and hinder meditation before Him.

5ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಪವೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಸಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಪಟಿಗಳು ಆಡುವ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಿ.For your iniquity instructs your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty.

6ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸುವವನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಕೂಡ ನಿನಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತವೆ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.Your own mouth, not mine, condemns you; your own lips testify against you.

7ನೀನು ಆದಿಪುರುಷನೋ? ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನೋ?Were you the first man ever born? Were you brought forth before the hills?

8ದೇವರ ಆಲೋಚನಾ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀಯಾ? ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಸೆಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೀಯಾ?Do you listen in on the council of God or limit wisdom to yourself?

9ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದಿರುವ ಯಾವ ವಿಷಯ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ? ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲದ ಯಾವ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದೀ?What do you know that we do not? What do you understand that is not clear to us?

10ತಲೆನರೆತು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗಿಂತ ವೃದ್ಧನಾದ ಮುದುಕನು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ.Both the gray-haired and the aged are on our side—men much older than your father.

11ದೇವರ ಆದರಣೆಗಳೂ, ನಿನಗೆ ದೊರೆತ ಶಾಂತಿಯ ಮಾತುಗಳೂ ಸಾಲುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ?Are the consolations of God not enough for you, even words spoken gently to you?

12ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಏಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೆಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು? ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಕಿಡಿಕಿಡಿಯಾಗುವುದೇಕೆ?Why has your heart carried you away, and why do your eyes flash,

13ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬಿದ್ದು ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತೀಯಲ್ಲಾ!so that you turn your spirit against God and pour such words from your mouth?

14ನರನು ಎಷ್ಟರವನು! ಅವನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೋ? ಮಾನವನಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿರಬಹುದೇ?What is man, that he should be pure, or one born of woman, that he should be righteous?

15ಆಹಾ, ತನ್ನ ದೂತರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆತನು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಆತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಲವಾಗಿರದು.If God puts no trust in His holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in His eyes,

16ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಅಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ನೀರಿನಂತೆ ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾ ಅಸಹ್ಯನೂ, ಕೆಟ್ಟವನೂ ಆದ ನರಜನ್ಮದವನು ಮತ್ತೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಲ್ಲವೇ!how much less man, who is vile and corrupt, who drinks injustice like water?

17ಕೇಳು, ನಾನು ಒಂದು ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವೆನು, ಕಂಡದ್ದನ್ನೇ ವಿವರಿಸುವೆನು.Listen to me and I will inform you. I will describe what I have seen,

18ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಿನ ಬಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪರದೇಶಿಯರು ಅವರ ನಾಡನ್ನು ಹಾದುಹೋಗುವಂತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.what was declared by wise men and was not concealed from their fathers,

19ಇದೇ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿ, ಕಲಿತದ್ದದನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡದೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.to whom alone the land was given when no foreigner passed among them.

20ಹಿಂಸಕನಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳು ನೇಮಕವಾಗಿವೆಯೋ, ಅಷ್ಟು ಕಾಲವೂ ಆ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಪೀಡಿತನಾಗಿಯೇ ಇರುವನು.A wicked man writhes in pain all his days; only a few years are reserved for the ruthless.

21ಭಯ ಅಪಾಯಗಳ ಸಪ್ಪಳವು ಅವನ ಕಿವಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವುದು, ತಾನು ಸುಖವಾಗಿರುವಾಗಲೂ ಸೂರೆಗಾರನು ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುವನೆಂದು ಭಯಪಡುವನು.Sounds of terror fill his ears; in his prosperity the destroyer attacks him.

22ಕತ್ತಲೊಳಗಿಂದ ತಾನು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಅವನು ನಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾದಿದೆ.He despairs of his return from darkness; he is marked for the sword.

23<ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿ?> ಎಂದು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾ ಅಲೆದಾಡುವನೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಆ ಕತ್ತಲಿನ ದಿನವು ತನ್ನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವನು.He wanders about as food for vultures; he knows the day of darkness is at hand.

24ಸಂಕಟವೂ, ಪೇಚಾಟವೂ ಯುದ್ಧಸನ್ನದ್ಧ ರಾಜರಂತೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೆದರಿಸಿ ಸೋಲಿಸುವವು.Distress and anguish terrify him, overwhelming him like a king poised to attack.

25ಅವನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರ ಎದುರು ನಿಂತು ಶೂರನಂತೆ ಮೆರೆದನಲ್ಲಾ.For he has stretched out his hand against God and has vaunted himself against the Almighty,

26ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ಗುರಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ತಲೆ ನಿಮಿರಿಸಿ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಓಡಿದನು.rushing headlong at Him with a thick, studded shield.

27ಅವನು ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಬ್ಬೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೊಂಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೊಜ್ಜನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು.Though his face is covered with fat and his waistline bulges with flesh,

28ಅವನು ಹಾಳು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು, <ದಿಬ್ಬಗಳಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ವಾಸಿಸದಿರಲಿ> ಎಂದು ಶಾಪಹೊಂದಿದ ಮನೆಗಳೊಳಗೆ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದನು.he will dwell in ruined cities, in abandoned houses destined to become rubble.

29ಇಂಥವನು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲದು. ಅವನ ಪ್ರತಿ ಫಲವು ಭಾರದಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.He will no longer be rich; his wealth will not endure. His possessions will not overspread the land.

30ಕತ್ತಲೊಳಗಿಂದ ಅವನು ಪಾರಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಿಚ್ಚು ಅವನ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಣಗಿಸುವುದು, ದೇವರ ಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋಗುವನು.He will not escape from the darkness; the flame will wither his shoots, and the breath of God’s mouth will carry him away.

31ಅವನು ಭ್ರಮೆಗೊಂಡು ಶೂನ್ಯವಾದದ್ದರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡದಿರಲಿ, ಇಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವನಿಗಾಗುವ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವು ಶೂನ್ಯವೇ,Let him not deceive himself with trust in emptiness, for emptiness will be his reward.

32ಅವನ ಕಾಲವು ಕೊನೆಮುಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲೇ ಆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವು ತಲುಪಿಬಿಡುವುದು. ಅವನ ಕೊಂಬೆಯು ಹಸುರಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,It will be paid in full before his time, and his branch will not flourish.

33ಮಾಗದ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಂತೆ ಇರುವನು, ಎಣ್ಣೆಯ ಮರದ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೂವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉದುರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವನು.He will be like a vine stripped of its unripe grapes, like an olive tree that sheds its blossoms.

34ಭ್ರಷ್ಟರ ಸಂಘವು ನಿರರ್ಥಕ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಲಂಚಕೋರರ ಗುಡಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕುವುದು.For the company of the godless will be barren, and fire will consume the tents of bribery.

35ಅವರು ಹಿಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿ ಶ್ರಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆರುವರು, ಅವರ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯು ವಂಚನೆಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವುದು.>>They conceive trouble and give birth to evil; their womb is pregnant with deceit.”
