3 ULB ಆತನು ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರರಿಗೆ ವಿಪತ್ತನ್ನೂ, ಕೆಡುಕರಿಗೆ ಉಪದ್ರವವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲವೆ? BSB BSB: Does not disaster come to the unjust and calamity to the workers of iniquity?
4 ULB ಆತನೇ ನನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಎಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು. BSB BSB: Does He not see my ways and count my every step?
5 ULB ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನಾನು ಕಪಟತನದ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಮೋಸವನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ಓಡಿದರೆ, BSB BSB: If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has rushed to deceit,
6 ULB ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯವಾದ ತ್ರಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತೂಗಿ, ನನ್ನ ಯಥಾರ್ಥತ್ವವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ! BSB BSB: let God weigh me with honest scales, that He may know my integrity.
7 ULB ನನ್ನ ನಡತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾರಿತಪ್ಪಿದ್ದರೆ, ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಕಂಡಕಂಡದ್ದನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದ್ದರೆ, ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಮಷವು ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ, BSB BSB: If my steps have turned from the path, if my heart has followed my eyes, or if impurity has stuck to my hands,
8 ULB ನಾನು ಬಿತ್ತಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಉಣ್ಣಲಿ, ನನ್ನ ಬೆಳೆಯು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲವಾಗಲಿ! BSB BSB: then may another eat what I have sown, and may my crops be uprooted.
9 ULB ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಹಗೊಂಡು, ನಾನು ನೆರೆಯವನ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂಚು ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರೆ, BSB BSB: If my heart has been enticed by my neighbor’s wife, or I have lurked at his door,
10 ULB ನನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಧಾನ್ಯ ಬೀಸುವ ದಾಸಿಯಾಗಲಿ, ಇತರರು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸಂಗಮಿಸಲಿ! BSB BSB: then may my own wife grind grain for another, and may other men sleep with her.
11 ULB ನಾನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ದುಷ್ಕಾರ್ಯವೇ ಸರಿ, ಆ ಅಪರಾಧವು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು. BSB BSB: For that would be a heinous crime, an iniquity to be judged.
12 ULB ಅದು ನಾಶ ಲೋಕದವರೆಗೂ ನುಂಗುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನನ್ನ ಆದಾಯವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. BSB BSB: For it is a fire that burns down to Abaddon; it would root out my entire harvest.
13 ULB ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನನಗೂ, ನನ್ನ ದಾಸನಿಗೂ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ದಾಸಿಗೂ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾದಾಗ, ನಾನು ಅವರ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೆ BSB BSB: If I have rejected the cause of my manservant or maidservant when they made a complaint against me,
14 ULB ದೇವರು ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೆ ಏಳುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಏನು ಮಾಡೆನು? ಆತನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವಾಗ ಯಾವ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟೇನು? BSB BSB: what will I do when God rises to judge? How will I answer when called to account?
15 ULB ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದಾತನೇ ಅವನನ್ನೂ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಆತನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ನಮ್ಮಿಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರೂಪಿಸಿದನಲ್ಲವೇ. BSB BSB: Did not He who made me in the womb also make them? Did not the same One form us in the womb?
16 ULB ನಾನು ಬಡವರ ಇಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ಭಂಗಪಡಿಸಿದೆನೋ? ಅಥವಾ ವಿಧವೆಯ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಂಕಾಗಿಸಿದೆನೋ? BSB BSB: If I have denied the desires of the poor or allowed the widow’s eyes to fail,

18 ULB ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ನಾನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ತಂದೆಯ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾಥನನ್ನು ಸಾಕುತ್ತಾ, ನಾನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದಂದಿನಿಂದಲು ಅನಾಥಳಿಗೆ ದಾರಿತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನಷ್ಟೆ. BSB BSB: though from my youth I reared him as would a father, and from my mother’s womb I guided the widow—
19 ULB ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವವನನ್ನೂ, ಹೊದಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಬಡವನನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ಕಂಡಾಗೆಲ್ಲಾ, BSB BSB: if I have seen one perish for lack of clothing, or a needy man without a cloak,
20 ULB ಅವರ ಸೊಂಟವು ನನ್ನ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಉಣ್ಣೆಯಿಂದ ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಾಗಿ, ನಾನು ಅವರಿಂದ ಹರಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? BSB BSB: if his heart has not blessed me for warming him with the fleece of my sheep,
21 ULB ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಉಂಟೆಂದು, ಅನಾಥನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಮಾಡಿದೆನೋ? BSB BSB: if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless because I saw that I had support in the gate,
22 ULB ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಗಲಿನ ಕೀಲು ತಪ್ಪಲಿ, ತೋಳು ಸಂದಿನಿಂದ ಮುರಿದು ಬೀಳಲಿ. BSB BSB: then may my arm fall from my shoulder and be torn from its socket.
23 ULB ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ವಿಪತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆನಷ್ಟೆ, ಆತನ ಪ್ರಭಾವದ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ನಾನು ಇಂಥ ಕೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: For calamity from God terrifies me, and His splendor I cannot overpower.
24 ULB ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ನಾನು ಬಂಗಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟು, ಅಪರಂಜಿಗೆ, <ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೇ ನಂಬಿದ್ದೇನೆ> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರೆ, BSB BSB: If I have put my trust in gold or called pure gold my security,
25 ULB ನನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡದೆಂದೂ, ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯೇ ಬಹು ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಿತೆಂದೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೆ, BSB BSB: if I have rejoiced in my great wealth because my hand had gained so much,
26 ULB ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುವುದನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಚಂದ್ರನು ಕಳೆತುಂಬಿದವನಾಗಿ ಚಲಿಸುವುದನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ನಾನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, BSB BSB: if I have beheld the sun in its radiance or the moon moving in splendor,
27 ULB ಹೃದಯವು ಮರುಳುಗೊಂಡು, ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಬಾಯಿ ಮುದ್ದಾಡಿದ್ದರೆ, BSB BSB: so that my heart was secretly enticed and my hand threw a kiss from my mouth,
28 ULB ಇದು ಸಹ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು, ಮೇಲಣ ಲೋಕದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾದಂತಾಯಿತು. BSB BSB: this would also be an iniquity to be judged, for I would have denied God on high.

30 ULB ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ, ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಹೋಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಪಾಪವಶವಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಒಪ್ಪಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. BSB BSB: I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking for his life with a curse—
31 ULB ನನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರದ ಆಳುಗಳು, <ನಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನ ಬಡಿಸಿದ ಮಾಂಸದಿಂದ ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗದವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಾರರು> ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? BSB BSB: if the men of my house have not said, ‘Who is there who has not had his fill?’—
32 ULB ಪರಸ್ಥಳದವನು ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲಾ, ದಾರಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿದ್ದೆನಷ್ಟೆ. BSB BSB: but no stranger had to lodge on the street, for my door has been open to the traveler—
33 ULB ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಜನ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆದರಿದ್ದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, ಕುಲೀನರ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರವು ನನಗೆ ಭಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದಾಗಲಿ, BSB BSB: if I have covered my transgressions like Adam by hiding my guilt in my heart,
34 ULB ನಾನು ಬಾಗಿಲು ದಾಟದೆ ಮೌನವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಜನರ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನ ದ್ರೋಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಿ, ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಪಾಪವನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ, BSB BSB: because I greatly feared the crowds and the contempt of the clans terrified me, so that I kept silent and would not go outside—
35 ULB ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡತಕ್ಕವನು ಇದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಲೇಸು! ಇದೇ ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗುರುತು ನೋಡಿರಿ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಲಿ! ನನ್ನ ವಿರೋಧಿಯು ಬರೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಅಪಾದನೆಯ ಪತ್ರವು ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಸಂತೋಷ! BSB BSB: (Oh, that I had one to hear me! Here is my signature. Let the Almighty answer me; let my accuser compose an indictment.
36 ULB ಅದನ್ನು ಹೆಗಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು, ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಧರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು. BSB BSB: Surely I would carry it on my shoulder and wear it like a crown.
37 ULB ಪ್ರಭುವಿನಂತೆ ಆತನ ಸಾನ್ನಿಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು, ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು. BSB BSB: I would give account of all my steps; I would approach Him like a prince.)—
38 ULB ನನ್ನ ಭೂಮಿಯು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂಗಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಅದರ ನೇಗಿಲ ಗೆರೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅತ್ತರೆ, BSB BSB: if my land cries out against me and its furrows weep together,
39 ULB ನಾನು ಹಣಕೊಡದೆ ಅದರ ಸಾರವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿ, ಅದರ ದಣಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಹಾನಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, BSB BSB: if I have devoured its produce without payment or broken the spirit of its tenants,
40 ULB ಗೋದಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಳೂ, ಜವೆಗೋದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕಳೆಗಳೂ ಬೆಳೆಯಲಿ.>> ಎಂದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೋಬನ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಮುಗಿದವು. BSB BSB: then let briers grow instead of wheat and stinkweed instead of barley.” Thus conclude the words of Job.
